What is in the current, goldfishes?

It’s your Division News Editor, Julianna Hsu! It has been a month since we started out this term, and a delight to see all the things that have been accomplished so far!

I had the pleasure to attend last month’s Officer Training Conference with all the Key Club officers in Region 3! It was so great to get to know the other key clubbers across the divisions. I hope everyone made lots of fun memories singing the chants and playing games! A rainbow filled sight for sure.

Unfortunately, I will not be present for the Summer Event for our region in August. Luckily, many of the other board members will be there to lead you into a day of fun! I am so excited to see what the LTG’s have in store for you all. I will be sure to attend future events, so see you then!

Swimming into Service,

Julianna Hsu

Thank you

to everyone who took the time to come; I really appreciate all your hard work and dedication!

On June 29th, 2024, Region 3 had its annual Officer Training Conference. This was a great event where officers from all over the region came together to be trained on their responsibilities. We played icebreaker games, had a scavenger hunt, had a mini spirit battle, and workshops. It was super fun and a great opportunity for the officers to socialize and connect with each other.

At OTC, D04E also had our June DCM, where we recapped the May DCM, made future announcements, and went over goals progress. We had around 40 officers from the division come, and it was a great turnout!

One of the highlighted service events that occurred this month was the 4th of July Yankee Doodle Dog Show, which took place at Canyon High School.

Among the numerous entertainment options that the event offered, we were in charge of a face-painting booth. Majority of the customers were children, so it was a great feeling to know that we were involved in making their experience more enjoyable and fun!

We assisted the faculty there in both the setup of the booth and cleaning the aftermath of the event, ensuring a smooth and efficient process from beginning to end. It was a successful event and a fun memory to share with the other Key Club members that attended.

The 2024 region 3 officer training conference (OTC) this year was great! Since it is my first year on Canyon's Key Club board this conference was essential to inform me of how I should perform my duties as General Member Representative.

One of the workshops I attended aimed to assist region three's officers to make connections and the other aimed to enhance public speaking skills. I can confirm that I learned a variety of new social skills and tactics this OTC. Throughout the workshops the LTGs were extremely supportive and answered any questions that the officers had.

Along with the workshops I was able to meet officers from other schools in region 3 and getting to get to know the officers was a great bonding experience because I was able to cooperate on how they perform in Key Club and even get tips on how I should perform. Overall this year's officer training conference enhanced everyone's knowledge of Key Club's impact and everyone should be well prepared to go into this year.

The Third of July celebration captured all of the beautiful aspects of summer, from breathtaking fireworks, picnics with friends and family, and the stunning sounds coming from the concert.

We planned the event for weeks, making sure that everyone would have a great time. Everybody pitched in with snacks and blankets for the picnic. It was a wonderful time, all of the members of Key Club new or old chatted for hours and waited for the fireworks to begin.

There were many activities available to do while waiting for the fireworks. Local businesses set up stands to educate participants about new job opportunities and handed out free snacks or items. There was also a wide array of food trucks that offered delicious food. Bounce castles and face painting for families with young children. We had an amazing time walking to all of the stands and eating the food from the food trucks.

The fireworks were the best part of the event. It was an amazing sight, so many dazzling colors and beautiful explosions lit up the sky. We sat on the picnic blanket, watching the fireworks show in awe. It was an experience that all of us couldn't forget. We plan to attend next year, and hopefully, the new members of Key Club will have an amazing time as we did.
