MAKING FITNESS FUN!

To all my ‘Smart Fitt Move it or lose it’, Aerobics,
Total Body Blast, Bootcamp and PT Clients:
“I hope you are all well and trying to keep fit and as healthy as possible during this very strange year. I have been busy posting up videos onto You Tube so that you can try and be active whilst staying at home. If you haven’t found them yet, go to You Tube and then type into the Search Bar either: ‘Smart-Fitt does Move it or lose it’ OR ‘Smart Fitt does Total Body Blast’. I hope to be able to resume classes in the next couple of months, depending on government guidelines, but they will probably have to take a format slightly different from before. I will endeavour to contact everyone in due course to let you know when your class is re-starting. I am beginning to re-start Personal Training sessions, working out in my garden, or on a village playing field, or via a video call. All existing PT clients should already have been contacted. If you are looking to start PT sessions and you have no pre-existing health issues, please contact me via my e-mail address or website enquiry form. 01778 421427 or 07837 499061

Hang in there, you can do this! Stay Safe, Stay home, stay as fit as you can!”
PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT BOOSTS LIVES FIRST RESPONDERS’ FUNDS
Local photographer, Ryan Murrant, recently toured his Elsea Park community capturing images of people whilst raising money at the same time. Ryan decided that the money raised should come back to the town, so the Len Pick Trust was approached and recently a cheque for £1,845 was donated, via the Trust, to the LIVES First Responders Team in Bourne.

Chairman of the Len Pick Trust, David Bower (left) is shown presenting the cheque to LIVES volunteer, Steve Haigh, with Ryan Murrant, in the orange sweatshirt, looking on. David commented, “We are a charity set up by the late Len Pick for the general benefit of the townspeople of Bourne and Ryan’s fantastic effort really chimes in with those aims. We are also particularly grateful to the Trustees of The Elsea Park Community Trust for their donation to the project.”
HOW PETS HAVE HELPED US COPE WITH THE LOCKDOWN
It will perhaps come as no surprise, especially to fellow pet-lovers, to hear just how much Britain’s pets have become crucial colleagues for their owners working from home during recent months, by boosting morale and motivation, besides reducing stress and anxiety. Cats and dogs have no doubt played a vital role in maintaining productivity and morale. A study by leading animal charity ‘Battersea’, has shown how we have relied on our cats and dogs while working from home. Almost four in ten, of the two thousand cat and dog owners surveyed, admitted that having a pet with them during lockdown has helped them maintain a regular routine. More than half (58%) said that having a pet with them while they work has helped boost their productivity and motivation. And 60% said it has helped them out of bed in the morning. One fifth (20%) have shared lunch with their dog, while 43% say their pet has helped reduce their anxiety. The research also revealed how cats and dogs have helped their owners get an issue off their chest - with one in ten moaning about a colleague to their pet. Being so near, however, has been too much to resist for some - with 66% admitting they have taken short breaks to spend some time playing with their cat or dog, when they should be working. Meanwhile, 17% said they had a pet join them on a video call, whilst 10% had found their cat asleep on their desk or keyboard! More than half of those surveyed revealed that they have become better connected with their pets, and now understand their personality better. And 77% of dog owners say walking their dog has been the highlight of their day during lockdown. So maybe it hasn’t been too bad since March 23rd, after all!

SCONE … BUT NOT FORGOTTEN! Congratulations go to Emma Fisher for having won the recent Wild Heart Café competition and scooping a dozen freshly baked delicious scones from one of Bourne’s finest eating establishments. Sons Daniel (4) and Freddie (5) are seen making light work of mum’s winnings!
