sadness of the last three months, there has been at least one serious glimmer of hope provided by local bespoke cake-maker, Jade Connolly.
From her home in Thurlby, this ambitious and very talented young lady has been building up an impressive reputation as her newly created business, Pretty Baked, has gone from strength to strength. Jade has always been a keen producer of baked products and has recently been working in a tea shop. She has now decided that her longstanding hobby could be developed further by her establishing the means by which her delicious home-baked items could be either collected or delivered to the public – so Pretty Baked was born! I was fortunate enough to have been given the chance to “test-drive” one of Jade’s afternoon teas, (a tastefully presented box containing a round of sandwiches, a perfect scone with cream and jam, a light sponge cake, a delicate piece of shortbread and a chocolate brownie to die for – all freshly made and delivered with a smile!) This treat is offered at £12 pp, with a minimum order of two, and I would consider that most reasonable.
Pretty Baked’s Facebook pages bulge with so many wonderful words of praise for the fabulous baked items which Jade has been providing. These include “occasion”/ wedding/ novelty cakes, selection boxes, cupcakes, giant cookie cakes, cheesecakes, brownie boxes and many more! Jade is keen, and clearly more than capable, to personalise any cake to your individual preferences.
