RESUMEN.—Las especies del género Sideritis tradicionalmente incluidas dentro del grupo de Sideritis hyssopifolia presentan características diferenciales para distinguir dos grandes grupos a nivel de subsecciones. La subsección Camarae, con un área de distribución centrada en el eje pirenaico-cantábrico, y la subsección Linearifolia, con un área de distribución orientada en torno a un eje Norte/Sur que comprende desde el Jura y los Alpes del Delfinado hasta las altas montañas béticas. RÉSUMÉ.—Les différentes espéces du genre Sideritis comprises d'habitude dans le groupe de Sideritis hyssopifolia, montrent des caracteres différentiels suffisants pour distinguer deux groupes au niveau de subsection. La subsection Camarae, avec une répartition centrée autour de laxe pyrénéo-cantabrique, et la subsection Linearifolia avec une répartition au long d'une axe nord-sud qui va des montagnes du Jura jusqu'aux les hauts sommets des montagnes d'Andalousie. SUMMARY.—The species belonging to the genus Sideritis and closely related to Sideritis hyssopifolia display diacritic characters enough to divide them up into two categories or groups at the level of subsection: Camarae Subsection, with geographical distribution centered along the Cantabric-Pyrenean axis and Linearifolia Subsection geographically distributed from the Betic mountains of southern Spain, through the Pyrenees, to the Jura and the Alps.
INTRODUCCIÓN
Este grupo ha sido abordado de modos muy diferentes por BENTHAM (1834), TIMBAL-LAGRAVE (1872), BRIQUET (1895), FONT-QUER (1924a) y HEYWOOD (1972), mostrando una tendencia a separarlas de S. scordioides basándose en la forma del margen de la hoja y a dividirlas en numerosas variedades o incluso especies.
