STAKEHOLDER VALUE NETWORK MAP

WHY

Stakeholder analysis is a key part of stakeholder management. When dealing with a challenge many internal and external actors have an effect on how a new service is developed and launched. Use the information to assess how the interests of those stakeholders should be addressed in your project.

HOW Use the Stakeholder Map as a team to create an overview of stakeholders and their impact and interplay in three steps: 1. Focus: decide on a focus of your map, will it be about scoping the challenge (internal stakeholders) or exploring the persona (stakeholders surrounding the persona); 2. Identify: think of all possible stakeholders surrounding the focus; 3. Categorize: map stakeholders on the basis of their influence on your company and challenge; 4. Map: use the six circle around the main stakeholder (for instance the final consumers) to place the most important ones;

5. Define: use the rectangular boxes to describe the value exchange, so what the main stakeholder gives and receives from the other.

EXAMPLE For an energy company, the team brainstormed about stakeholders and decided to find additional information by crowd sourcing via colleagues.
