We have been hosting weekly jazz at the St. James Club in Swansea since 1971, but due to changes, we have pushed our piano just a few minutes down the road to our new venue at 'The Garage' in Whitez, Uplands, Swansea.

One of our favourite saxophonists makes a welcome return to Jazzland! Simon Allen began his career with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Pendulum Jazz Orchestra, performing alongside the likes of Jazz Stars Art Themen, Gerard Presencer, Jamie Cullum and Peter King. After being a winner in the Daily Telegraph ‘Young Jazz’ competition, and a finalist in the ‘Young Jazz Musician of the Year’, Simon gained a place at the Royal Academy of Music, and was selected to join UK drummer Clark Tracey's acclaimed Quintet, winning further awards and touring the UK over 7 years. 'Sonny Side Up' Mornington Locket Trio The trio music of Sonny Rollins, with Mornington Lockett - tenor sax, Arnie Somogyi - bass, Sebastiaan de Krom - drums. Saxophonist, composer, arranger and teacher Mornington Lockett studied at Dartington College of Arts, gaining a first class honours degree, before moving to London to attend the Guildhall School of Music And Drama as a post-graduate. Neil Angilley has long been one the UK’s best - kept secrets in the Jazz world. The Trio have worked regularly in the London Jazz scene, across the U.K. and on the continent. In 2010 the trio were invited to perform at ‘The International Jazz Festival’ in Trieste, Italy. They regularly perform in London and across the continent. With what is already a well lived musical career, Neil has worked with many of the brightest in the industry. Alan Barnes is joined by USA pianist Phil DeGreg.Barnes is steeped in the language of bop, but is such a consummate stylist that his playing tends to buck any argument that his musical approach is conservative or out of step with the times. Whether on alto, baritone or tenor, Barnes’ melodic sense bypasses the usual scale-running clichés that pepper the playing of lesser bop disciples. Phil DeGreg began playing the piano in his childhood and now performs as a jazz pianist internationally. His earliest jazz influences were Bud Powell and Bill Evans, but he is accomplished and comfortable in a wide range of jazz styles, ranging from mainstream to bebop to Brazilian jazz. Vibes virtuoso Roger Beaujolais in a Quartet featuring Danny Moss Jr on double bass. Roger Beaujolais played the vibraphone for the first time at the age of 24 and was 28 when he made his first public performance. He is completely self-taught. Roger is the first musician in the UK to solely make a living from playing vibraphone. He has released 18 albums under many different names which have been released by various labels including Warner Brothers, Acid Jazz and Hollywood Records (Disney). Roger has performed in over 25 countries on 4 continents and has played most of the major jazz festivals in Europe. Internationally renowned double bassist Danny Moss Jnr is an unashamed disciple of the great Ray Brown!
