Your Vote is Needed
The Arizona State Legislature passed a law, A.R.S. Section 33-1818 of the Planned Communities Act in regards to who has authority over public roadways in planned communities. The Del Webb at Dove Mountain community must vote on this legislature before June 30, 2025 to maintain the current CC&Rs enforcement practices.
This is broad legislation about a planned community's ability to regulate their roadways. This includes the ability to set and enforce rules on not only parking, but also items such as construction materials / equipment, yard debris, dumpsters, storage pods or anything else a homeowner may place on the street.
Homeowners will see this question on the same ballot as the vote for candidates in the 2025 Board of Directors election. Homeowners are encouraged to vote for the candidate(s) of their choice and to vote on this important roadway question.
If you choose not to vote on either, please select Abstain on your ballot so that it can be counted towards the required quorum.
For more information, you may review documents on the website, to learn more click: ourdovemountain.net > Board of Directors> 2025 Election.
Every Vote Counts, please vote either electronically or request a paper ballot at the Saguaro Center Welcome Desk. Voting is open on February 3 through 5pm on February 24, 2025.
Dear Friends and Neighbors at DWDM:
Do you have a relative who was shot down, bailed out, or crashlanded in Europe during WWII, and escaped captivity or evaded capture? Do you have a father, uncle, or family friend who fits this description?
Specifically, I am looking for Allied bomber crews, fighter pilots, or air transport crews who found themselves unexpectedly behind enemy lines in Europe during 1942-1945 and managed to escape or evade capture. I am looking to write about their experience and honor their memory in writing.
My name is Patti, and I am a volunteer writer for the Air Forces Escape & Evasion Society (AFEES). Incredible stories like this often lay dormant in family history and I seek to share them with other interested parties. Has your family member had their story told?
In addition to AFEES, I work with the 100th Bomb Group Foundation, the Eighth Air Force Historical Society, and the Imperial War Museums in London. I assist these organizations by writing content and conducting research. If you would like to tell your family’s story, please reach out to me at gggmidon@gmail.com or text me at 614-3131184. I would love to meet and speak with you!
Are now available for resident pickup at the Saguaro Center Welcome Desk.
Each home lot is eligible for 2 complimentary Guest Passes per year.

A sedentary lifestyle can take a serious toll on your health, affecting everything from your weight to your mental well-being. Sitting for long periods has been linked to weight gain, poor bone health, reduced circulation, muscle weakness, and even chronic pain. It can also increase your risk of serious conditions like diabetes, cancer, and heart disease - the leading cause of death in the United States.
Since it’s Heart Health Month, let’s focus on how a sedentary lifestyle specifically impacts your heart.
Heart disease is a broad term used to describe conditions that affect the heart or blood vessels. Prolonged sitting can significantly raise your risk of developing heart disease by affecting how your body functions at its core. When you sit too much, your blood circulation slows, your metabolism becomes sluggish, and your body struggles to regulate critical functions like blood sugar and blood pressure.
Your heart, much like any other muscle, needs regular activity to remain strong and efficient. Without movement, the heart doesn't get the workout it requires, and over time, its efficiency diminishes. This can lead to serious problems like cardiomyopathy, where the heart struggles to pump blood effectively, or coronary artery disease, which reduces the flow of oxygen - rich blood to the heart.
Sitting for extended periods can also lead to an imbalance in cholesterol levels. Too much LDL, or "bad" cholesterol, combined with too little HDL, or "good" cholesterol, can result in hardened arteries and other vascular issues. Physical inactivity compounds these risks, leading to high blood pressure - a condition where your heart works harder than it should, eventually weakening blood vessels and further straining the heart.
The good news is that even small changes in your daily routine can significantly improve your heart health. While exercising for 30 minutes a day is a great start, it’s equally important to stay active during the other 23.5 hours. Long periods of sitting can counteract the benefits of your workout, so finding ways to incorporate movement throughout your day is crucial. One of the simplest ways to combat prolonged sitting is
One of the simplest ways to combat prolonged sitting is to take frequent breaks. Try standing up and moving around for a few minutes every hour. If you’re working at a desk, consider using a standing desk or taking phone calls while walking.
Incorporating walking into your day is another effective strategy. You could walk during your lunch break, park farther away from your destination, or choose the stairs over the elevator or escalator.
Even leisure time at home can become more activemini-workouts, like stretches or the sit-to-stand exercise, can also be a great way to break up long periods of inactivity. If starting feels overwhelming, remember that even small steps count. Begin with just 10 to 15 minutes of movement daily and gradually increase your activity over time.
Sitting too much is more than just a bad habit – it is a risk to your heart and overall health. The key to protecting your heart is to keep moving. Whether it’s a short walk, a quick stretch, or a more structured workout, every bit of activity helps. By making small, consistent changes to your daily routine, you can strengthen your heart, improve your health, and set yourself up for a longer, healthier life.

This lighthearted and entertaining game will test how well couples (and even friends) know each other. Whether you have been together for years or just met, it is bound to bring lots of laughs and friendly competition.
By Rod Dunnett, USPTA, Elite Professional Doubles Strategy
Keep the ball low so the other team is always hitting up, and if you can't keep it low, lob.
If you are making contact with the ball below the top of the net, try to hit to the farthest away opponent, if contact is made above the top of the net, hit at your closest opponent's feet.
The most effective shot you can hit to limit your opponents’ options and set up your partner is a short, angled, low return, approach or volley. If you can get your opponent hitting up from midcourt, they will be severely limited in their ability to hit hard, hit at your feet, and to lob.

The DWDM family is collecting personal care toiletry/hygiene items that will be shared with local charities. When traveling, pick up those travel size soaps, lotions, shampoos and more during your hotel stays. (New or unopened items only.)
These essential care items are greatly appreciated and will then be distributed to those in need here in Tucson, Sister Jose’s Homeless Shelter and the Poverello House (a men’s homeless shelter).
At the next dentist appointment, grab that toothbrush and toothpaste and donate those as well!
While at the store, see items on BOGO Sale and grab extra!
The white collection container is behind the bar/counter inside the Saguaro Center.
Thank you for your support. Barb Larkin at belarkin@msn.com
