HORSE SPOTLIGHT
I’M IVERSON
Iverson has recently gone up for adoption and is looking for a nice, quiet retirement spot!
He’s a cute dark bay Morgan type gelding and he is currently sporting a fun Mohawk of a mane. He is the last horse from his impoundment to be available for adoption and has been a little lost since his best bud, a confident Appaloosa gelding, was adopted. Iverson is big on engagement and needs a human and a horse that can hold his hand a bit through life as he can be a little insecure.
We have Iverson in a training program, and he understands basic groundwork. We think he w a home where he can be pa (and fed snacks of course) . Iverson is an adorable fellow personality to boot. We hav getting to know him and are for someone to open their h this peppy guy!

TUNE UP TIME!
DEFHR BARN ETIQUETTE AND BEST PRACTICES.
Reminders for new and long-time volunteers alike! Because your safety is our priority.

Please do NOT touch any horse with a purple sticker on their halter. Purple means there is a reason that horse is a “staff only” horse. This includes petting the horse through the stall door.
NO HEADPHONES
we need you to be able to hear us and any potential emergency at all times.

CAN I TOUCH THIS HORSE?
We know our horses are adorable! However-If you see a horse being tacked up, or tied to a post in Common Area near the feed platform, you can assume that horse is in a training session and it is safety etiquette that you give both the horse and trainer some space. Please do not approach a horse in training.
Thanks for being safe and making DEFHR a great place to be!

Encourage friends, family and neighbors to sign up for a subscription box for peakseason fresh local produce. Each week you’ll receive a variety of fruits, veggies and herbs-hand selected by the farmer himself. A great way to support the farm, an the environment all while enjoying fresh veggies!
