HORSE SPOTLIGHT
VERONICA
2 years old but wise beyond her years...
Veronica is a brave, independent young lady! She has been in a consistent training program for about 60 days in which she has learned many new skills such as tying, standing patiently for fly spray and hosing, head down, backing, moving the hindquarters and forequarters, lunging, accepting different training tools such as the stick and string and flag. She has bravely conquered our obstacle course which includes pool noodles, a cowboy curtain, tarps, bridges, small jumps and the pedestal (which was her favorite!). She didn’t bat an eye when asked to load into the trailer and has also worked on sidling up to the fence to prepare her for mounting when she is ready to be started under saddle.
Veronica has been so fun to get to know and to work with. She’s smart, catches onto things very quickly and is a very sure footed and balanced young lady. She can be sharp out in the field where she pushes her fellow Standardbred sisters out of the way but she is very engaging with humans and is respectful of boundaries and personal space.
“The future is bright for this one!” -Sara Strauss, Head Trainer
