HORSE SPOTLIGHT
FORT FREDERICK
Fred is a 12 year old off-the-track-Thoroughbred, standing at 16.1 hh. He is a gentle young man with the most pet-able ears and a kissable grey snout.
Fred is currently going under saddle walk/trot/canter, over trot poles and small fences. He has been trailered off-site multiple times during his training program and even took a trip or two to New Bolton Center. He was a roarer and had an entrapped epiglottis, and needed to undergo surgery in April. He has been in consistent work since his recovery and we think he’ll do great as a lower level horse with someone that is thoughtful and understanding. He has been patiently waiting for his turn to be featured on our social media as an adoptable horse, and the wait is finally over!!
Fred is super fun to ride! He has comfy gaits with a smooth trot and an uphill, rocking horse canter. He has been out on numerous trail rides and has a blast hanging out in streams, pawing and getting everyone wet!
Come give some love to Fred while he waits to find his new family. We know you’ll fall in love with his soulful eyes and pretty white eyelashes!

DAPPER DYLAN’S DAY IN COURT!
Dylan (affectionately known to volunteers as “Dill Pickle”) had his hearing on 10/28/25 before a judge in Anne Arundel County, during which the defendant issued a guilty plea to eleven charges of animal neglect for Dylan and dozens of dogs. He was sentenced to serve 20 days in jail and five years of supervised probation, during which he would not be allowed to own or possess any animals. He will also undergo a psychiatric evaluation, and his remaining animals will be forfeited to the county.
