Moroccan Supporters Forcibly Disrupted in Jerusalem. With Morocco’s victory in the World Cup quarterfinal match, the Israeli authorities crushed Palestinian celebrations in Jerusalem, beating and chasing people. On Saturday, hundreds of Palestinian youngsters gathered in Jerusalem’s Bab Al-Amoud Square, one of the gates to Al-Aqsa Mosque, and other neighborhoods and streets. They raised Palestinian and Moroccan flags and chanted in celebration of Morocco’s triumph. The Israeli occupation forces surprised the celebrants and assaulted several of them, beating and abusing them and firing tear gas canisters. Some of them were injured as a result.
