Saturday, August 24, 2013 Until Sunday, August 25, 2013 At Tower Grove Park A multiethnic celebration featuring traditional dance, music, food, cultural and educational exhibits, folk art demonstrations and a craft market presented by the International Institute and 125 community organizations. Non-stop dynamic music and dance performances by traditional ethnic artists, world music favorites and the finest traditional acoustic music and song from Spanish flamenco to a Vietnamese lion dance, from thundering drums to Irish harp will be presented on four stages. The Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago (MFDC) will be the Enterprise Main Stage act. The event takes place nearest S. A lively opening ceremony kicks off the celebration Saturday morning at the Japanese Garden entrance with an elaborate omikoshi Shinto shrine parade, bon odori festival dancing, taiko drumming and remarks by local and visiting dignitaries.
