Connection Expo 2025, sponsored by St Jude’s Disability Services
This event has been created and shaped by people living with disability, for people living with disability. We hope you enjoy yourself, and make lasting connections and relationships that advance your disability journey.
Thank you for making the effort to attend this expo, we hope you find all the answers you’re seeking. To assist you with this, we have a dedicated Info Hub, sponsored by Provider Choice, where Participants and Providers can Ask a Guru, who are experienced experts, and get answers in real time. It’s a free service, so please take the opportunity to connect with these seasoned experts who can assist your NDIS journey.
Whilst you’re doing that, and enjoying accessing information and forming new connections with providers, you can enjoy a free coffee or hot drink, thanks to Utano Care!
This year we are delivering a huge series of Disability and NDIS-related events across
Australia in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. This will enable the 4.4 million Australians living with disability to access essential information, connect with service providers, and access important information.
Now is the time for people with lived experience to lead meaningful conversations, and for more collaborations to be forged between Advocacy Groups, Advocacy Leaders, Service Providers and political leaders. Together, they must work to implement solutions based on the recommendations.
We’re grateful for the support of leading Advocacy Group organisations, and we are also incredibly thankful to our amazing sponsors for helping to make this event an even bigger success.
The past few years have shown us just how important it is to have diverse ways to connect and stay connected. That’s why we’re partnering with incredible sponsors and building a strong nationwide network of Participants, Families, Carers, Service Providers, and Guardians. Together, we’re shaping a disability sector that we can all be proud of.
We invite you to enjoy yourself over the two days. As we always say, we don’t do halls, stalls andpamphlets alone. We understand that staying connected requires support and opportunities for the community to come together, share experiences, and build meaningful connections. Our Expos are community events held over two days and we make sure there is plenty to do, lots of space, seating, food, entertainment, and a great atmosphere so people can enjoy their time connecting.
This year, we’re highlighting our sponsors in innovative ways, from Specialist Hubs and Partners to Recharge Zones, Chill Out Areas,
and Activity Sponsors. A huge thank you to all the providers who have stepped up to support this incredible community event, your contribution is invaluable!
Over the past four years, we’ve been featured in hundreds of media segments across radio, TV, and print, helping to spotlight key issues and changes in the disability sector and NDIS space. As a recognised source of information, DAC is now regularly invited by the media to share insights and raise awareness on important topics every week.
If you have insights or solutions on the future of the NDIS and want to amplify your voice in the media, reach out to us to explore this opportunity.
For now, we would like you to enjoy your time at the expo, take in as much information as you can, and connect with as many providers and people who will support your journey.
On behalf of the entire DAC team, we hope that this is a moment in time that you’ll reflect on, that seriously progresses your disability journey.

Live where you belong
At Utano Care, we believe everyone deserves to live where they belong. That’s why we’ve created lifestyle villages for people with disabilities who want to live independently, with comfort and connection at the core.
We began with a conversation — our participants told us what they needed and how they wanted to live. So we listened
and built a village that reflects their vision: freedom, comfort, and real belonging.
Our new Alfred Cove village is now open, and seeing residents enjoying life in our beautiful SDA apartments has been deeply moving.
Utano isn’t just housing — it’s a place where neighbours connect, support is personal, and people feel free to be themselves.

Utano Care – Live Where You Belong
At Utano Care, they believe in something very simple — yet incredibly powerful:
Everyone deserves to live where they belong.
That belief has shaped everything they do. They have created lifestyle villages for people with disabilities who want to live independently, with comfort and real connection at the heart of it all.
Their new village, at Alfred Cove, is now open, and watching their first residents settle in has been deeply moving. The beautiful SDA apartments, the coordination services, the everyday interactions... It’s more than a home. It’s a place where people are truly seen. And that’s what makes Utano different.
From the beginning, they set aside the blueprint and started with conversations which led to understanding that residents didn’t just want housing. They wanted belonging. Freedom to be themselves, in a space that feels right.
So they built that. A real village. Where neighbours know each other’s names. Where support is tailored, not templated. Where people feel free to live on their own terms.
And this is just the beginning. Brisbane Street is next. Then Midland, Bentley, and Armadale. Each village will be unique — but every one will carry the same promise at its heart: Live where you belong.
Because this isn’t just about bricks and mortar. It’s about rewriting the story of how we live, together.
They’ve seen what happens when people feel they truly belong — confidence grows, friendships form, lives open up. That’s the power of community built with intention.
And while creating something this personal, this human, takes work — they’re here for it. They believe the harder path — the one that puts people first — is always worth it.
Live where you belong isn’t just a phrase. It’s their purpose. Their promise. And they’re just getting started.
Visit utanocare.com.au — and step into a village that’s built on more than care. It’s built on belonging.

Could redress be an option for you?
The Redress Scheme has helped many Australians gain access to counselling, receive a direct personal response, and a redress payment – like John and Jan.
“There was a lot of hurt, a lot of anger, but that seems to have dissipated these last few months –I’m a lot better than I was. I’d like to see other people have a crack at it; it was certainly good for me”.
The National Redress Scheme acknowledges that many children were sexually abused in Australian institutions. Redress is a way of trying to make up for the harm that was done. Scan this QR code for their full story and for more resources including Easy Reads, hearing and speech communication support and eligibility information.
“I would encourage anyone to go ahead with redress as it is a healing exercise and did provide me with closure and acceptance. It put an end date to all the trauma that I experienced as a child and I could move on and finally put it behind me”.

If meal preparation and delivery services are considered a reasonable and necessary support in your NDIS Plan, eligible participants are only required to pay 30% of the cost. If you’re unsure, speak with your Support Coordinator, Plan Manager or local NDIS contact for clarification.
Lite n’ Easy accommodates all NDIS plan management types:
Plan Managed: You can request a quote online. Once a service agreement is approved and funds are confirmed, Lite n’ Easy will arrange your first order. If your Plan Manager has been onboarded for co-payment with Lite n’ Easy, you’ll pay only 30% upfront.
Self-Managed: To place an order, simply pay the full amount upfront. After ordering, email Lite n’ Easy to confirm your order and selfmanagement status. Once your meals are delivered, you’ll receive an invoice to claim the meal preparation and delivery costs through your NDIS plan.
Agency Managed: Email Lite n’ Easy to get started. Once set up, you’ll pay just 30% upfront.
Advocacy Letters
Lite n’ Easy’s team of Accredited Practising Dietitians can assess your needs and offer evidence to justify the need for meal preparation in your NDIS plan, ensuring you get the right support – request a letter via the link online today!
