Welcome!

This year we are delivering the biggest events Australia has ever seen in the Disability and NDIS sector in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. We are also launching our huge Virtual Connection Expo platform so that Australians can connect with service providers, see updates, watch on demand content, join in with virtual conferences and topic days from leaders all around the word.

The last few years have taught us all more than ever that we need lots of different ways to connect and stay connected. This is why we are partnering with so many great sponsors and building a huge network with participants, families, carers, service providers and Guardians from all over Australia to help us create a disability sector we can all be proud of.
Working with the National Disability Leadership Organisation (NDLO) we are also able to support the Disability Staff Recognition Awards in each state to raise funds and support Paralympics Australia, the Australian Paralympic Team and the next generation of Paralympians. It is a huge night and a great way to take time out and look at how we can all work together.
As we always say, we don’t do halls, stalls and pamphlets alone. We know that getting out and connecting needs to be supported and an opportunity for the community to come together and spend time together. Our Expos are community events held over two days and we make sure there is plenty to do, lots of space, seating, food, entertainment and a great atmosphere so people can enjoy their time connecting. This is why we see many people come on both days just to cover everything that is on offer.
Don’t forget, if you have a burning NDIS question, make sure you swing by the Ask A NDIS Expert - Support Hub.
The last three years we have been featured on hundreds of items of coverage across radio, TV and print media, raising awareness of important issues and changes in the disability sector and NDIS space. We have also had the opportunity to connect media outlets with some amazing service providers and people living with disability to share their stories.
Developing Australian Communities has developing a significant media profile, and is now

also able to help time-poor service providers with increasing their capacity via our custom marketing solutions. Please contact us if you’d like to explore this opportunity.
With the Royal Commission and the huge amount of work being done by our Minster the Hon Mr Bill Shorten and his state colleagues we have seen the Government focused on change and improvements. It has been a welcome sight in the last 12 months to see the work of leaders in Australia like Australian Paralympic legend and disability advocate Mr Kurt Fearnley AO, appointed Chairman of the Board of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and the work done by our 2022 Australian of the Year Mr Dylan Alcott OAM.
2023 has been a year of enormous growth and change in the sector, and 2024 is already shaping up to be even bigger. With the reccomendations of the Royal Commission expected early in the new year, there is much work for us to do to continue to build a sector we can all be proud of, and keep making a difference.

Easy Cycles
We welcome Easy Cycles as our multi-region Platinum sponsor of our Disability Connection Expos in 2023! They are one of Australia’s premium health and mobility electric bicycle and tricycle suppliers and will be present at our Disability Connection Expos in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth.

Easy Cycles already has several wellestablished partners across Australia and are keen to develop new partners and premium agents in all states and territories. They provide an extensive range of options for people living with physical or developmental disabilities or mobility issues.
Easy Cycles is an Australian owned company based in Fremantle, Western Australia. Their three main brands of bikes are Van Raam, Pfautec and Ryder bikes. Easy Cycles are focused on sustainability and their entire range conforms with Australian environmental standards.
The Easy Cycles team is constantly looking for ways to improve their electric bike models to ensure clients are receiving the best quality and value for money.
Being electric, their bikes and trikes are easy to operate and can be driven effortlessly just by a twist of the throttle, or light pedalling. The bikes allow those with disabilities to feel more independent and have exercise and therapy and to enjoy life outdoors.

Cycling is now a real possibility for children and adults with disabilities even
though it is an activity which is sometimes overlooked in the development of many NDIS plans. Electric trikes and bikes for those with mobility issues fall under the Assistive Technology budget within NDIS support packages.
The team at Easy Cycles works with individuals, carers and health professionals, allied health teams (occupational therapists and physiotherapists) to test available options, develop optimum alternatives and capitalise on clients’ strengths.
Electric bicycles and mechanical trikes can be specifically customised for each client, with additional stabilisers and customised fittings such as foot straps and hand gloves to hold the handlebars.
If you think that you or your loved one would benefit from an ebike or trike and one would help you to achieve the goals in your plan, then talk with your plan
coordinator to have money budgeted for an electric bike or trike within your plan. Easy Cycles can provide a quotation for your plan. You will need to discuss the advantages and goals of accessing an electric trike with your OT or physio so they can prepare an Assistive Technology report to be included in your plan.
Easy Cycles ebikes and trikes come with a full two-year warranty, and are backed by a fully equipped service department and expert staff who are on hand to help whenever you need it.
Please visit the team at Easy Cycles at our 2023 Disability Connection Expos in Brisbane, Melbourne, or Perth! Visit their website to learn more about their range of products. Their electric trikes can change lives and futures for those with a disability. They would love to discuss your cycling and mobility needs and to develop a customised machine for you or your loved one.

Revive Physiotherapy & Exercise Physiology
Revive Physiotherapy & Exercise Physiology are a proud Gold Sponsor of the Perth Disability Connection Expo on the 25th and 26th August.
At Revive Physiotherapy & Exercise Physiology, the team of qualified Allied Health professionals work with clients to develop tailored exercise programs that help manage and improve their specific health needs. This includes working with individuals with disabilities as well as those who have chronic health conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and arthritis, as well as those who are recovering from injury or surgery.
Revive are specialists in:
Exercise physiology and physiotherapy treatment
Muscular and Neurological treatments

Mental Health improvement
They are proud to foster an inclusive friendly Community and are goal-driven by participants’ objectives of what they want to achieve.
One of the key benefits of working with an Exercise Physiologist is that they have a deep understanding of the human body and how it responds to exercise. This means that they are able to develop exercise programs that are both effective in managing pain and achievable; taking into account any underlying conditions or circumstances that their client presents with. They then educate their client on how to execute these programs in a safe way and continue to monitor them to make any adjustments if needed based on their progress.
Another benefit of working with Revive Physiotherapy & Exercise Physiology is their holistic approach to healthcare. Rather than simply treating symptoms or addressing individual health conditions,
their Exercise Physiologists work with patients to promote overall health and wellbeing. This may involve addressing lifestyle factors such as nutrition, stress management and sleep. Participants receive access to Revive facilities, which are large, very well equipped and well maintained.
If you have sessions with a Revive practitioner, you get facility membership as a gesture of good will. You can use the facilities at any time to work through your program, not just when you have a session booked.
It has been proven that not only can targeted exercise help improve medical conditions but it also releases chemicals like endorphins and serotonin that improve your mood and therefore be hugely beneficial for mental health. It also encourages social interactions,
helping to reduce any feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Revive Physiotherapy & Exercise Physiology is an organisation that is making a real difference in the lives of people with disabilities, chronic health conditions and injuries. By promoting exercise as a way to improve health and wellbeing, they are helping people to lead healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives. Whether you are looking to recover from an injury, manage a disability or chronic health condition, or simply improve your overall health, fitness and mental health, Revive Physiotherapy & Exercise Physiology can help you to achieve your goals.
