Connection Expo 2025, sponsored by GNA Services!

This event has been created and shaped by people living with disability, for people living with disability. We hope you enjoy yourself, and make lasting connections and relationships that advance your disability journey.

Thank you for making the effort to attend this expo, in light of the recent weather conditions. Simply being here is a testament to your resilience, and we hope you find all the answers you’re seeking.

This year we are delivering the biggest series of Disability and NDIS-related events in Australia’s history in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. This will enable the 4.4 million Australians living with disability to access essential information, connect with service providers, see updates and watch on-demand content.

Now is the time for people with lived experience to lead meaningful conversations, and for more collaborations to be forged between Advocacy Groups, Advocacy Leaders,

Service Providers and political leaders. Together, they must work to implement solutions based on the recommendations.

We’re grateful for the support of leading Advocacy Group organisations, like Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN), who are here to connect and educate, please make sure you swing by their booth to understand the range of ways they can support you. We are also incredibly thankful to our amazing sponsors for helping to make this event an even bigger success.

The past few years have shown us just how important it is to have diverse ways to connect and stay connected. That’s why we’re partnering with incredible sponsors and building a strong

nationwide network of Participants, Families, Carers, Service Providers, and Guardians. Together, we’re shaping a disability sector that we can all be proud of.

We invite you to enjoy yourself over the two days. As we always say, we don’t do halls, stalls and pamphlets alone. We understand that staying connected requires support and opportunities for the community to come together, share experiences, and build meaningful connections. Our Expos are community events held over two days and we make sure there is plenty to do, lots of space, seating, food, entertainment, and a great atmosphere so people can enjoy their time connecting.

Don’t forget, if you have a burning NDIS question, make sure you swing by the NDIS Information Hub where you have the opportunity to discuss your challenges with Dr. Paul White, Australia’s leading Psychiatrist and head of Qld Health’s Complex Case and Complex Assessment team. He and many others with years of NDIS experience are on hand to answer your questions and point you in the right direction.

The first 50 attendees each day can enjoy a free coffee or hot drink, while everyone is invited to experience an exciting lineup of Main Stage entertainment. This year, we’re highlighting our sponsors in innovative ways, from Specialist Hubs and Partners to Recharge Zones, Chill Out Areas, and Activity Sponsors. A huge thank you to all the providers who have stepped up to support this incredible community event, your contribution is invaluable!

Over the past four years, we’ve been featured in hundreds of media segments across radio, TV, and print, helping to spotlight key issues and changes in the disability sector and NDIS space. As a recognised source of information, DAC is now regularly invited by the media to share insights and raise awareness on important topics every week.

If you have insights or solutions on the future of the NDIS and want to amplify your voice in the media, reach out to us to explore this opportunity.

For now, we would like you to enjoy your time at the expo, take in as much information as you can, and connect with as many providers and people who will support your journey.

On behalf of the entire DAC team, we hope that this is a moment in time that you’ll reflect on, that seriously progresses your disability journey.

We welcome Living Communities as a Platinum Sponsor of the Brisbane Disability Connection Expo 2025.

Living Communities is a registered NDIS provider, located in Queensland, and provides services in Brisbane and its surrounding areas including the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. Benjamin Bullivant founded the organisation in 2020 after witnessing first-hand discrimination against participants by support workers.

Living Communities is led by people with disabilities for people with disabilities. They pride themselves in providing a supportive and inclusive environment where participants can receive the necessary supports and services to lead fulfilling lives. Living Communities emphasises independence, social inclusion, and person-centred care. Their supports are designed with participants in mind and are tailored to meet their individual needs.

Living Communities pride themselves on their person-centred approach to the delivery of their services which are all-inclusive. Their services,

which include Support Coordination, Recovery Coaching, Capacity Building and Skill Development, are designed to provide an individualised approach to navigating the complexities of the NDIS, and their plan, to assist in meeting. Their Community Participation services provide participants with increased social and community participation and connect these participants with appointments and activities of their desire.

Living Communities’ Garden Care and Maintenance services assist participants with more complex needs to maintain their outdoor areas to ensure that they have a safe and well-maintained environment. Their founder, Benjamin, explains why Living Communities do what they do:

“Having been bullied for having a disability throughout my childhood, I am a firm believer in social justice. I feel that the needs, rights, and basic human dignity of every person should never be overlooked. Individuals with a disability should never be treated as less but provided with the opportunity to participate in the community as any other person. Supports are necessary to ensure the dignity and respect of an individual. Everyone has the right to choose what they want from life, and making those choices is empowering

and essential to human growth. Living Communities exists to assist people who sometimes have their voices lost in crowded spaces. This is especially true for those who identify as LGBTQIA++.”

We are here to empower our clients, providing them with ways and means to improve their quality of life.”
