Now that September is here, I hope that everyone is getting adjusted to school! As clubs Prepare to become active for the new school year, students can participate in Key Club activities and events! Work hard to reach your goals in academics, extracurriculars, etc, but remember to take care of yourself. Enjoy the September issue!
School is in session for many of us, so it’s important to make sure we’re all doing our best to stay on top of our work and keep a consistent schedule. On top of all that, make sure you’re all taking breaks for yourselves as needed to and set some time aside just for yourself. Although it’s the beginning of the school year, our Key Club term definitely still has a long way to go. I hope everyone’s club rush/fair was a success, and your club is starting off strong! Remember to always stay dedicated to serving your community and others!
iwanis of Victorville holds an annual Dream Big 5K arathon every year where all proceeds made om the event goes to the City of Victorville Recreation Scholarship Program. The program is designed to help children and families with limited financial resources to participate in recreation programs in Victorville. This year as they held it, Key Clubbers were able to go out and help with setting up, check ins, handing out water bottles and or medals for the marathon participants. While helping out with check-ins, I was very ecstatic to meet people of all ages. It was surprising to me because the age range was 4-60 years old for the participants who had signed up. It was amazing to see how excited those who are passionate about running were. The runners enthusiastically made small talk or shared advice with one another before the race started. Once the race began, everyone set off while Key Clubbers and Kiwanians were anticipating to see who would finish first To our surprise, a 6 year old who had signed up finished 3 miles within the first 20 minutes! Everyone cheered for those who were approaching the finish line and congratulating them Overall, this event was very enjoyable We got to help out those who enjoy running and the community too while meeting many people as well
The Officer Training Conference for Division 38 East was held on a Google Meets At this event 3 different members gave a presentation, giving more information about Key Club. These slides gave many useful information of future events, such as Fall Rally and DCON It was a fun meeting that allowed everyone to learn even more about Key Club and their officers As for my experience presenting, I thought that it was an exciting event, because I was able to provide all the attendees with information that they might need or may refer to at a later time
Provided by Kiara Escudero, University PreparatoryMy experience at the Officer Training Conference (OTC) was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed all the information given and I was well informed on the workshops that were presented The slides were also very detailed and visually pleasing. I was able to learn various things about Key Club and officer duties It was also nice to see all the officers in the division and to finally get to know each other better I believe it helped strengthen bonds within the division and provided a foundation for club officers to use for the new school year I highly recommend everyone who is a part of Key Club to attend an Officer Training Conference
The theme of our OTC was Cinnamoroll, our division’s fluffy mascot Many people who were curious about key club and its leadership roles participated in the meeting, which was held online on Google meet Before the informational presentations began, we played a game of skribblio, where we guessed what someone’s drawing was supposed to represent After that, three presenters provided the members with a description of key club, information about the officers’ jobs, and answers to the viewers’ questions It was a great opportunity for members to learn more about their club and any officer roles that they’re interested in
