By: Pete Knight Tech-Editor Cristina Ramierez In October Pete Knight Key Club had another successful trash pick-up. This time, we focused a little more on getting new members to participate in this pick-up to show them the importance of keeping the community and environment clean. We, as older members, would like to continue the tradition of trash pick-ups that has been passed down to us by those before us to new members.

Actively looking for new members to teach the importance of developing leadership skills by assisting one's community helps spread the desire to continue to actively participate in other community leadership-based functions.

By: Joshua Villa Contreras Littlerock Tech-Editor On Saturday, October 14th, starting at 9 AM and ending at 1 PM, Key cCub members from Littlerock High School went to the Littlerock Community Effort Animal Rescue. During their time there, they were given the task of helping clean the cat cages. (Due to safety concerns each type of animal is restricted to certain ages, resulting in the cats being the only animals we could help. While cleaning the cat cages, Key Club members were also given the opportunity to pet and feed the cats. After finishing the cat cages, Key Club members were also given the opportunity to build cat trees.

After persevering through some difficulties, Littlerock Key clubbers were able to build three cat trees. Building the three cat trees ended their visit at the Community Effort Animal Rescue.

By: Aaron Limb Quartz Hill Secretary On November 17, 2023 during B-lunch, Qh Key Club held a combined spirit session and service project in Mr. Katz room V16. In terms of attendance, we had around 25 total members and all club officers were present. As for the service project, we all were required to make 5 or more sticky notes of supportive messages and place them around the school. Those who were also planning on attending Fall Rally were advised to chant along during our simultaneous spirit session. Both myself (Aaron) and Natalie (Vice-President) helped lead the chants as we were well familiarized with them. While we did have all officers present, there was a significant drop in numbers of those who signed up during club rush. I also think the service project itself was cut short from QHHS’ lunch break being only 30 minutes. In the future, it will be beneficial to both our entire student body and officers to have club service projects after school or span multiple days.
