Amy Luong| SDHS This month was our last month participating in key club activities during the school year. San Diego High School hosted its annual world faire event where Key Club represented Brazil. We sold Brazilian desserts such as pan de queijo (cheese balls) and brigadeiro (chocolate balls). Many key club members showed up to help manage the booth and make the desserts. It was very successful as we sold out in 40 minutes. For the end of the year San Diego high’s kiwanis group hosted an end of year barbecue and dog toy making event. It was a great opportunity for our key club members to come out and make connections with our kiwanis group and other key clubbers from different schools such as Saint Augustine. It was a great way to wrap up the school year and look back on all of the service projects that SDHS Key Club held and participated in.

Jenna Ramiscal| SDSCPA As a member of Key-Club, participating in the graduation ribbon lei booth not only made me feel more welcomed by the club members, but also by the school entirely. Setting up the booth with our hand crafted creations made me emotional because they carried memories that would continue to be passed onto the graduation students. I felt incredibly happy to be around the club members as we spent time selling and celebrating the hardships the seniors had endured up to their graduation. Friends and family would remember that day forever, and by selling those leis, even when a few were left over, a token of appreciation is handed over to those opening a new chapter of their lives. Although encouraging a plethora of families to purchase leis was a bit difficult, there were always a few people that smiled upon buying one for their child. In respect for the ceremony, we took the booth down before it began. The moment where I saw joyous parents place our handmade leis on their students truly made me a proud member of Key-Club.

As our splashing summer is coming to an end we joined our fellow members at th

DCM. Where we happily participated in a couple fun games that helped us get t another a little bit more. Along to the ice breaking activities, we took the time to

paint on a few tote bags for ourselves. As our creative juices were flowing, memb

to listen to some music and talk with one another, some even talking about future

clubs. Speaking of future plans, we are all very excited for this upcoming school y to help our community more with possible new opportunities and members!
