With the approaching start of the upcoming school year, our Alhambra Key Club came together to meet virtually over Zoom to outline our plans for a successful term. During this meeting led by our incoming President Emily Keath and Vice Presidents Michelle La & Maddy Thai, our new officers provided introductions and our goals within our respective roles on the board. We also reviewed the duties and responsibilities of our officers to ensure the maximum productivity and efficiency for our club’s officers. As the meeting came to an end, officers left the meeting with a more concrete idea of their position and responsibilities as well as increased familiarity with other board members. On August 5, 2022, we will meet with our LTG Chloe Liu virtually over Zoom.

Fear. Joy. Disgust. Anger. Sadness. These are the 5 emotions we are all born with. What better way to recognize them than at Inside OTC 2022! Division 10 South hosted Officer Training Conference on July 16th to train and educate both officers and general members more on Key Club-related topics! Some members of Gabrielino Key Club even had the amazing opportunity to become a presenter! Upon arrival, members noticed that this annual event embodied the elements and message of the movie, Inside Out. Not only were all the presentations decorated with Inside Out characters and gifs, but our lovely Division Publicity, Andrew Han, also made an Inside Out-themed poster that became the center of the show in group photos! Not to mention, there was also a memorable portion of OTC that focused on mental health. Members were able to hear about challenging experiences from different perspectives and learn more about how they can better face their obstacles. Overall, our members enJOYed this fantastic opportunity to meet members from other D10S schools all while learning about Key Club!

Concerts at the Park Samantha Loi, | Rosemead High School

10.

Who doesn’t love music? Well Rosmead Club certainly does! Since this July, we have been helping the City of Rosemead with their Concerts at the Park. This event was dedicated towards celebrating the different genres of music as small concerts were held every Friday at either the Rosemead or Garvey Park. Aside from small musical performances, participants also enjoyed browsing through different booths and games at the events. August 19th marked the last day of the series of services. From 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM, fifteen Rosemead Key Clubbers helped manage lines for the jumper and kept the park clean. Since the event was small and well-organized, members also got a chance to enjoy the festivities as they listened and danced to Disco. While Rosmead Key Clubbers are sad that this event has ended, they are also happy that they were able to partake in such an exciting opportunity.

For the month of August, Division 10 South ended the summer off with a Olympics themed DCM. Members met at Vincent Logo Park where all participants were organized into groups associated with a different color, and shortly after, these groups would partake in Olympic-styled activities. Some of the activities included Poncho, Tug of War, and practicing the “How Do You Feel” chant. Throughout all the activities, members were provided the opportunity to not only bond and meet with members within their home clubs, but also on the division level. We wrapped off the DCM and summer with a round of water balloon fight with all the proceeds are donated to PTP. In the end, our very own Lieutenant Governor, Chloe Liu, even got a bucket of water poured on her in support of PTP.

13.

To start off the event, members were divided into smaller groups and created a chant that they shared with the region shortly after. When groups were done with their respective chants, everyone was taught the Region 13 Lionfish chant and the clean-up was followed shortly after.

I am thrilled to announce that after 3 long years, our annual Region 13 Beach Cleanup has finally resumed! This event took place at the Santa Monica Pier where members across Division 10, Division 15, and Division 35 came together for a day of service, laughter, and excitement. Not only did members have the opportunity to help clean the beach, make our planet cleaner, and sustain a more suitable environment for everyone, but members were also able to bond with others on the division level as well as on the regional level.

After the clean-up, members had time to take a short break to rehydrate and play tug of war! Each division created a team consisting of 4 girls and 4 boys. Round after round, each division challenged another division until there was one team left standing. The team left standing had the toughest task yet, the championships. The championship was a competition between the LTGs and the winning team. This round was extremely intense but it ultimately ended with the LTGs taking victory. When the tug of war was completed, members were given the opportunity to explore the pier and stores around the area. Lastly, the event came to an end with a region group photo. Everyone surely had a great time and until the next region event, we will be cherishing this one for some time.
