Take advantage of a freer schedule and volunteer at service events to give back to the community! After a first completely in-person school year for most students, be sure to take this time to unwind, relax and have fun with friends! Channel that inner squirtle spirit and make new memories in a Summer of Service 💙💛” Swimming in Service, Chloe Liu D10S Lieutenant Governor

While May was a hectic month due to finals, Key Club continued to strive in the area. Many people had decided to run, and, excitingly, three San Gabriel Key Clubbers have earned a place within this term’s DLT! Woohoo, hooray! The three members have been recognized on San Gabriel Key Club’s instagram. including photos of the entire DLT as well as the three members together. Congratulations to San Gabriel Key Club’s members in DLT, Cindy Phan, Calvin Truong, and Carla Hau!

On Sunday, May 15, Rosemead Key Clubbers joined many other volunteers as assistants in the Herbalife24 Triathlon in Los Angeles. Although Rosemead Key Club had worked prior marathons, this was the club's first-time partaking in a triathlon event through Titan Volunteering. Students were tasked with a wide range of jobs within their eight-hour shift, from 4:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. Some members with tasked with organizing athletes’ bikes on racks as they transitioned from the biking to the running portion race. Others were stationed at roadblocks around the triathlon and directed traffic away from the course. As more athletes began to complete the course, students also aided them in retrieving their belongings in bags from each section of the triathlon. Given the size of the event and its large number of volunteers, some of the Key Clubbers were able to connect with members from an ROTC program that worked the bike racks. Towards the end of the shift, volunteers received pizza, water, and snacks. Then, Rosemead Key Club proceeded to take their group photo and dispersed.

Wilson has finally ended the term with a very successful boba fundraiser and annual club banquet. During our boba fundraiser, we were able to sell all 56 of the catered boba in only 10 minutes! The fundraiser took place right after school, in front of our school, where we sold the flavorful Jasmine milk tea (w/ boba) for $5 each. Following this event, we held our annual club banquet which took place at GEN, the Korean barbeque restaurant, where we had an enjoyable dinner filled with talk, laughter, and good vibes. Many of our members were able to bond with each other while enjoying delicious Korean cuisine and lots of photos were taken as well to post on the Wilson Key club Instagram account. After dining, we gathered together to have our club president and vice president announce the newly elected club officers. Firstly, Vivian Lee, our former club historian and secretary, has been introduced as our new club president! Next, we have Kelly Wu, our former club historian, introduced as our new club vice president! Then we have Kathleen Valdez as our new club historian, Arizbel Gomez as our new club treasurer, Melania Xu alongside Emily Huang as our new club secretaries, and Kevin Yang as our continuing club tech editor. Needless to say, this year’s banquet and final fundraiser was filled with high spirits, great accomplishments, and exciting news.

The month of May was a busy month for all of us, since many students had to prepare for AP exams and finals. Despite that, Alhambra Key Club continued to be active within our community. With the end of AP exams, Alhambra Key Club participated in the annual Herbalife24 Triathlon in Downtown Los Angeles on May 15th where our members were joined by fellow volunteers from various volunteer organizations across Los Angeles County. Those in attendance included incoming President, Emily Keath, incoming Vice President, Michelle La along with other board members and general members of the AHS Key Club. We acknowledge the importance of our community service and understand how important it is to develop our club’s future leaders which can be seen through our 2022 Key Club Installs held at Dave & Busters on June 5, 2022 where we installed our board for the Fall of 2022 and provided our farewells to our ongoing board. Thank you for your leadership, President Madison David & Vice Presidents Athena Ngo & Melanie Thongthai. Alhambra Key Club’s board applauds the perseverance of our members through difficult times with ongoing AP testing and continues their commitment and dedication to our community and events such as the 2022 Herbalife24 Triathlon; as well as taking initiative to serve their home chapter

For the month of May, Division 10 South and Division 10 North held a joint banquet to recognize all the achievements and efforts made throughout the 2021 - 2022 term. Not only was food provided to those who attended, but the banquet presented an excellent opportunity for Members to meet and bond with other individuals within and across the two Divisions. As Members dined on delicious pasta and pizza among other foods, Bobbi Bruesch, a Board Member of the Rosemead Kiwanis Club, shared her firsthand experience of how Kiwanis had greatly impacted her life. Bobbi recounts how, from the time she was a kid, Kiwanis has been caring for her and taking care of her. As she continued, she thanked everyone for their contributions and for being part of the Kiwanis' family, and making it possible to improve the world one child and one community at a time. After Bobbi’s closing words, the current Lieutenant Governor, Theresa Huynh, and incoming Lieutenant Governor, Chloe Liu, announced and distributed the awards given during the CNH Convention to each individual club. To close off the term, the incoming Lieutenant Governors, Chloe Liu (D10S) and Annabel Lee (D10N), displayed a video of the accomplishments and memories that each Division had experienced and expressed words of encouragement as they were welcomed with open arms.
