POLAR BEARS Being awarded as being an Outstanding Polar Bear of the month means they have been nominated and chosen for their hard work, dedication, and personal growth as a true Key Clubber. The following are OUTSTANDING Polar Bears for the month of June:

What is the spotlight on service program?  It is a program created by the Service Project committee to promote International and District initiatives and to help promote service overall

When is our service project submission due?  Project Submissions are due on the 5th of each month following the project

CNH GOALS In honor of the 100th birthday of Kiwanis this year, our theme is Celebrate: Service, Leadership, and Family.

: 5 service projects per month Help serve your home, school, and community.

: Every member is a leader Having an officer title does NOT make you a leader!

DUES What are dues? Dues are annual payment that renews your membership, considering you to be an official member to Key Club International.

How much are they? May vary among each club ($11.50 - $20) $7.00 goes to Key Club International  Membership card & pin  Administrative budget  International Officers and Board  Youth Opportunities Fund  Key Leader scholarships  $4.50 goes to CNH District  Administrative Budget  District Officers and Board  Committee Budgets  Senior Scholarships  Additional payment goes to club funds or charity  

Why should I pay it? You are considered official member of Key Club         

Can write it on college apps Can apply for grants and/or scholarships Can attend off-campus community service events Can attend Fall Rally/DCON/ICON Get discount off Key Leader Membership id and pin, magazine, etc. Make friends of a life time Make a difference in your community Gain leadership skills

PTP: Pediatric Trauma Program What is PTP? PTP is a program sponsored by Kiwanis after recognizing the serious need to educate others about child’s safety. All funds go towards educating doctors, purchasing equipment, and spreading awareness to help prevent child injuries. 90% of all unintentional injuries can be prevented. 8.4 million emergency room visits a year due to accidental child injuries.

What can my club do to help? 

Bicycle rodeo  Teach children about the importance of bicycle safety  Ask for grant to sponsor event  Give out free helmets or bike Carnival  Hold at elementary school  Games based on PTP  Spread awareness with educating and brochures  Sell tickets and food  All profits go to PTP

Movie night o Spread awareness o Show short video explaining PTP before movie o Admission and/or sell snacks to fundraise Safety assembly o Hold at elementary, middle, junior high, or high school o Discuss safe driving and seatbelt use

UNICEF: EliMiNaTe Project IT ONLY TAKES $1.80 TO PROVIDE 3 DOSES OF THE VACAINATION!

CNH Key Club pledged to raise $500,000 by 2015 to eradicate Maternal Neonatal Tetanus. What can my club do to help?     

Without the vaccine an infected baby will ultimately die. They suffer serve sensitivity to light, touch, and sound. As the baby cries the mother cannot even comfort their baby due to its pain. MNT kills 1 baby every 9 minutes. MNT kills 160 babies each day. And there are still 24 more countries to save from MNT. So start today and help do your part.

Instead of buying a Starbucks coffee that money could be donated to UNICEF to SAVE a baby’s life.

KEY LEADER What is it? Key Leader is designed to be a life-changing experience to inspire young people to strive for their personal best and teaches them how to be a better leader. Key Leader includes meeting many new people, team building activities, group discussions, and workshops. When is it? 
