hey there ~ in few months can you believe that I’ll be passing my position and I'll be leaving high school. how sad don’t you think? but it’s okay I'm thankful that I became your division newsletter and historian. To be honest I've learned a lot of things and I also notice how far I've grown since I first stepped in as your one and historian. I’ll surely miss you guys because I've treated you as my extended family. Hope you guys enjoyed reading all of my newsletters the way I enjoyed creating them. This is not a farewell yet but a note to tell you guys how joining a leadership team change truly change your life. Being your division leadership team I’ve learned to be a leader and how much responsibilities you have to handle together with school ones too. There's so much on your plate but along the way, you’ll learn to manage all of that. I’ll tell you right now that all of that hard work will pay off at the end you just have to stick to the end and never give up. serving with a roar, Ivanah Rain Palaganas Division News Editor & Historian

official key clubbers

January was fairly laid back in terms of events as the officers and members got back into school after winter break. Besides Proving Grounds and Kamp Rock (hosted by UCR Circle K), we held our Member Recognition Night to recognize all the members old and new in our family! Afterschool on January 24th, instead of our general meeting, we had food and certificates and just celebrated our members. A new junior member, Justin C., attended and said, “I think Key Club is a good opportunities for me to explore out of my comfort zone to do something great like community services. Our next event after that was another blood drive, where we raised over 140 pints of blood for our local community! It was a big success.

February was a hectic month considering that it was CLUB RUSH! Club rush was once again a successful event for Chaparral Key club; we gained a good amount of new members, but old members are always appreciated in Key Club. On the same day, Chaparral High School and it's Spring Showcase to promote other clubs and Key Club gained a lot of attention. Also, the annual conclave to elect new ltg's was held at Temecula Valley High School and our dear Cindy Tsai became the ltg for the 2017-2018 term! Congratulations Cindy! Not only that but we also elected new officers for the 2017-2018 term; congratulations to yours truly for becoming the president, Jian Isidro and Heather Aaron for becoming the Vice President, Gianna Burr for becoming the treasurer, Aaron Lagman for becoming the new editor, Maverick Villon for becoming the secretary, and Esmeralda Trejo for becoming the web master! I hope to do well in the next term and continue this journey Ly has started for Chaparral Key Club.
