DEVELOPMENT SUMMARY

PAINTED MASONRY







Investigation:
Our site analysis led us to investigate the use of high quality materials within both established and contemporary multi-residential projects. In addition, we explored how they can be applied to make a bold, yet sophisticated architectural statement whilst ensuring the highest levels of occupant health and comfort.
Opposite are samples of precedence discovered during this process including:
Concept:
- Polycarbonate, which is a light and visually dynamic cladding system. The translucency of this material will allow for light through flow into interior spaces, whilst maintaining a high level of internal privacy.

- A tactile painted masonry utilised in a contemporary manner to investigate the relationship between the existing architectural fabric of Noone Street and the proposed development.
- Timber cladding to emphasis the communal accessway and provide a sense of warmth to the interal garden path
- A metal cladding in a subtle, softer colour, that will act as a shield to protect the internal spaces from extreme sun and noise.
- A charcoal/black steel trim to areas of interest that will serve to reinforce points of entry and thoroughfares through the site.
- To work collaboratively with a qualified landscape architect to respond with sensitivity to site conditions and create a sense of place which is appropriate to each individual residence as well as the wider context of Clifton Hill.
