WHAT’S QUACKING DUCKS?!
In the month of August, we are finally back in school. On August 8th, Canyon Springs Student Council hosted our annual Freshman Orientation, allowing freshmen to view various clubs before the school year begins. On the same day, we hosted a Rent-A-KeyClubber for teachers who wanted help setting up their room.
Key Club’s first meeting is still to be decided due to scheduling conflicts between officers. We have The Just One Project coming up at Canyon on August 17th from 7:30am - 10:30am. Key Club is also having a club rush next week to recruit more members!
Karena Tien, President 2024-2025
We are planning another fundraiser to help fund for Fall Rally! Stay on the lookout for our email regarding our first meeting of the year! Have a wonderful first week of school,

RENT-A-KEYCLUBBER
Rent-A-KeyClubber is one of our recurring service events where teachers “rent” Key Clubbers to help out with whatever they need. Since many teachers moved classrooms this year, our club helped teachers carry materials to their new rooms, as well as helping set their rooms up.
“During Rent-A-KeyClubber, some key clubbers and I helped some teachers set up their classroom for the incomingschoolyear.Wehelpedputtheirpostersup, resetsmartboards, andputbulletinboardsup. We went around and offered teachers our help and let them know thatiftheyneededhelp at any time, we’d be available to help! This was a great experience and I hope we get to help more teachers in thefuture!”

FRESHMAN ORIENTATION
Our club had a table at our school’s freshman orientation. Members informed the new freshman on what Key Club is and what we stand for. We were lucky enough to get some help from our LTG, Alexis! Thank you Alexis!
“Freshmen orientation is that time of year where we find all sorts of new prospective members to join the community that is Key Club. In our back quad, we introduced the concept of Key Club to many incoming freshmen. We also had our LTG Alexis join us.”-VivianChen,12
ICON
International Convention (ICON) is a Key Club Convention where Key Clubbers from around the world gather! This year’s ICON took place in Atlanta, Georgia from July 10 to 14. There were exciting workshops and speakers. It is also a good opportunity to make new friends and connections. Awards are presented and elections are held as well. Though not many members from our club could make it, one of our members, Jean Carlos Corvo, was able to go and had an amazing time!
