Our Commitment to Empowering a Bold Future

At CSG, we believe that inspired people and high-integrity companies can make the world a better place. Over the last three years, we have embarked on a corporate responsibility journey that is grounded in the simple belief that diverse organizations who care about sustainability, inclusion and exceptional corporate governance will consistently outperform on any dimension.

We are a purpose-driven Software-as-a-Service (“SaaS”) company that delivers extraordinary customer value by leveraging our core values and our 5 Keystones of CSG Leadership to guide everything we do. Our commitment to doing business the right way extends to our corporate responsibility and ESG reporting as we work to envision, invent and shape a better, more future-ready world.

Last year we published our inaugural Impact Report, and we doubled down on our corporate responsibility commitment in 2023. We announced our official carbon commitment as we strive to be carbon neutral in both Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2035. We are creating a global culture of sustainability, inclusion and environmental stewardship where every employee is empowered and encouraged to help us achieve our lofty goals.

Also in 2023, we further engaged with several ESG-reporting organizations including The Sustainability and Accounting Standards Board (“SASB”) and the Task-Force for Climate-Related Financial Disclosure (“TCFD”) frameworks, publishing our second and third annual installments of each report, respectively.

We are extremely proud that our commitment to corporate responsibility and ESG reporting is moving the needle from a rating agency perspective. In April, we received our second consecutive “Prime” rating from ISS, which means that CSG is in the top 20% of peers when it comes to quality ESG disclosure. We also earned a double-A rating from MSCI, a step up from the triple-B rating two years ago. And, we are excited to report that CSG recently ranked in the top 10% of peers by Sustainanalytics and the top 25% of all publicly rated companies according to S&P’s CSA ESG framework.

As we look ahead, Team CSG remains committed to corporate responsibility, and we believe our people-first culture is a key differentiator for us. A talented and inspired workforce that lives our values and does business the right way makes CSG a more attractive investment and a better technology partner that’s easier to do business with than our competitors as we continue solving our customer’s toughest business challenges.

We look forward to sharing our continued progress in the years ahead.

We are creating a global culture of sustainability, inclusion and environmental stewardship where every employee is empowered and encouraged to help us achieve our lofty goals.

Connecting Cultures and Celebrating Diversity

In 2023, the Inclusion and Impact team continued its efforts to strengthen connectedness through the expansion of Employee Belonging Groups (EBGs) into local chapters worldwide, fostering a celebration of diversity, local traditions and cultural heritage. Notably, we introduced our first regional DEI Council in India, an extension of our Global DEI Council, complementing the global initiative to address local needs.

Our focus on cultivating a thriving environment for diversity and inclusion is evident in the consistent year-over-year growth of our Global Belonging Score. Signature programs, including our monthly 15-on-15 microlearning series, have played a vital role addressing team-specific needs through the offering of these unique learning opportunities. Topics included accessibility in hiring, psychological safety and LGBTQ+ identity.

We remain focused on building a global and diverse team at all levels to continue to diversify and strengthen our pipeline of future leaders. In 2023, we launched the Engage Mentorship Program aimed at pairing critical talent with senior leaders for six months of personalized coaching and support.

We’ve created a strong foundation for diversity, equity and inclusion to take root at CSG. Our EBGs are thriving and our leaders and champions are invested. The conditions have been created to grow diverse representation across various facets of identity and deepen our ability to practice DEI in a way that feels locally relevant to our global teams.

CSG Makes Inclusive Learning a Year-Round Commitment

At CSG, our dedication to continuous learning and development took center stage in 2023, with our 15on-15 series on DEI topics emerging as a consistent favorite. Co-hosts from around the world, spanning India, Colombia, Australia, the UK and the US, shared best practices on inclusive hiring, accessibility, leadership keystones, microaggressions and inclusive practices for international teams.

We continued our commitment to DEI with the deployment of our first mandatory e-training on workplace diversity, receiving strong positive reviews and completion globally. Employees embraced foundational concepts that paved the way for deeper and more meaningful discussions on topics around psychological safety, allyship and accountability within teams.

Highlighting our global inclusivity efforts, we hosted LGBTQ+ speakers, including trans rights activists Nikole Parker (Florida, USA) and Uma (Bangalore, India) to share their stories and educate CSG employees about trans inclusion in the workplace. Nikole shared the unique challenges faced by trans women of color and ways to support them, while Uma provided insights into her experiences as a trans woman in India, fostering allyship and improving mental health and inclusion for trans, nonbinary and LGBTQ+ individuals.

To reaffirm our unwavering commitment to inclusion, CSG proudly joined Pride Matters in Tech, a coalition of tech companies committed to understanding and improving the experiences of trans and nonbinary employees across the industry. This collaboration produced tangible recommendations for advancing trans inclusivity and equity in tech. Further emphasizing our dedication, we signed the Human Rights Campaign Count Us In Pledge, reinforcing our dedication to LGBTQ+ inclusion and global human rights advocacy.

Bringing Our People Together With EBGs

EBGs continue to be core to belonging at CSG. This year, our employees led the creation of two new employee-led groups: Caregivers and Mental Health. We also added region-specific chapters for two of our inaugural EBGs:

Our women’s EBG, WE LEaD, hosted a global women’s symposium for the first time in July. Activities centered in Bengaluru, India and incorporated CSG leaders, board members and customer leaders across the world.

The Global Women’s Symposium was an opportune time for the WE LEaD community to unite and to improve the status of all women at CSG. Let us keep lifting as we climb and work together to GROW, CONNECT, ADVOCATE, and INSPIRE the women of CSG.

Suja Ganesh and

WE LEaD India Chapter Co-Chairs

more about our EBGs.

2023 was a year of celebrating locally and acknowledging the incredible work and community of our EBGs globally. The South Africa chapter of our Black Culture Collective honored South Africa’s Heritage Day, with Caroline Peters Executive Director of the Callas Foundation who recently presented at the United Nations Commission on Women as she provided CSG with education around gender-based violence and what allyship looks like and hosted local “brais” (barbecues) in Johannesburg and Cape Town to bring CSGers together to celebrate differences and the things that unite.

EBGs continued the theme of local flavor with global impact through the expansion of WE LEaD to the EMEA and Australasia regions. From Galway to Riyadh, Barcelona, Pretoria, Brisbane, Bali and more – participants shared the impact women have had on their professional and personal lives and topped off the celebrations with a festive virtual cake-cutting.

In 2023, CSG Added Two New Employee Belonging Groups

Mental Health has over 140 members and growing. Their mission is to create a space where everyone at CSG feels safe, encouraged and empowered to talk about mental health. They hosted events alongside Pride for Suicide Awareness and Prevention Day, “Nutrition for the Busy Mind” in honor of World Mental Health Day and “Sh*t Happens, It’s How You React That Matters” for Men’s Health Month.

Caregivers mission is to cultivate an inclusive and safe space for caregiver CSGers to connect, share experiences, access resources and find mutual support. By increasing awareness, they aim to drive meaningful change and empower caregivers to balance their responsibilities. Caregivers hosted several connection events and a “Caring for the Caregiver” guest speaker session to honor the care we must give to ourselves before providing for others.

Supporting Diverse Hiring Through Accessibility

Throughout 2023, CSG dedicated substantial efforts to prioritize accessibility and foster diversity in our recruitment processes.

The launch of our inaugural Diverse Hiring Playbook marked a significant milestone, serving as a comprehensive guide for our global workforce. Additionally, in collaboration with GiftAbled, a social enterprise dedicated to fostering inclusivity in society, CSG hosted a training session, “Building a Disability Confident Workplace” for 50 managers in India, reinforcing their mindset and honing their skills in inclusive hiring and accessibility practices. These efforts underscore our dedication to cultivating a workplace culture that values diversity and embraces accessibility across borders.

Driven by the influence of our Disabilities EBG, we implemented and enhanced strategies to expand the hiring of individuals with disabilities. This inclusive approach extended beyond recruitment, with improvements to our accommodations request process, both for candidates and employees. Job postings now feature clear language guiding candidates on requesting accommodations.

“ “

I am fully committed to making CSG a truly inclusive environment and am excited to be partnering with the Disability Equality Index for guidance and support in making CSG a better place for those with disabilities. I am proud to sign this pledge to support the hiring and development of fantastic CSG employees with disabilities.

I see this as part of CSG’s journey to be a more inclusive and equitable company in everything we do.

As part of Global Accessibility Awareness Day, CSG publicly declared its commitment to increasing accessibility through our products and services for both employees and customers, continuing to work alongside experts at Disability:IN to deepen inclusive and equitable practices and policies for people with disabilities.

In this pursuit, CSG is not merely addressing a gap but actively working to create employment opportunities and equipping our workforce with the skills and knowledge to engage meaningfully with people of all abilities.

I cannot express how much this EBG has increased my connections and skills. I hope that I am having as positive an impact on others as the EBG has had on me.

12 Young Women Selected for the 2023 Girls in Tech Scholarship Program

In 2023, CSG proudly partnered with Girls in Tech (GiT), a global not–for-profit organization committed to empowering women in the technology field. Our partnership has provided 12 women in Indonesia with scholarships for job readiness training in full stack and quality assurance automation. These women also gained valuable hands-on experience during a 3-month paid internship with CSG. This initiative encourages and empowers young women to pursue fulfilling careers in technology.

We organized various events featuring exclusive conversations with Rasmani Bhattacharya, senior vice president, general counsel, and Greg Tilton, vice president, quote and order. Both leaders inspired the girls, instilling belief in their own potential and fostering confidence in their abilities.

This partnership is another step in CSG’s vision to help create a better, more future-ready world where women have equal opportunity to thrive and prosper in the workforce. As a result, we have witnessed a remarkable 10% increase in women hires at CSG Indonesia, reflecting the success of joint efforts with GiT.

CSG Cares Creates Positive Global Impact in India

CSG Cares India is the embodiment of CSG’s strong commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR). It serves as the guiding framework for India’s social impact initiatives, which are aligned with our core values and the broader objectives of creating a sustainable and inclusive society.

The team in India is focused on promoting education, empowering women, eradicating poverty and driving environmental initiatives. These pillars reflect our dedication to making a meaningful and lasting impact on the communities where we operate.

To effectively execute our vision, the team has established three distinct initiatives under the CSG Cares umbrella:

1. I-Care Initiatives: This initiative empowers our employees by providing them with dedicated funds to drive impactful social impact projects across various cities. Thirty-six employees have successfully implemented 36 projects across 36 cities and towns, benefiting a total of 4,500 students in government schools. Some of the schools include Angirasa Mithila Vidyalayam, Government Lower Primary School, Vaderahalli and Mitra Jyothi.

2. We-Care Initiatives: This initiative encourages and facilitates employee engagement through volunteering activities in cities across India. By actively participating in these activities, employees forge connections and build strong relationships with the communities we serve. Across eight cities, 1,200 volunteers have contributed nearly 3,000 volunteer hours at 26 community events.

3. They-Care Initiatives: Partnering with reputable NGOs, our "They-Care" initiative aims to uplift and empower underprivileged sections of society. CSG Cares India continues to build its support for partner NGOs, including Association for Promoting Social Action (APSA), Bhartiya Grameen Mahila Sangh (BGMS), Udayan Care and Connecting the Dots via Prerna.

CSG's continued partnership with Bharat Grameen Mahila Sangh stands as a testament to the company's unwavering commitment to corporate social responsibility and making a positive impact in the communities where we live and work. Recognizing the incredible work being done by BGMS, CSG, under the leadership of our regional partners, Anil Megalageri and Sudhansu Panigrahi, took the initiative to build a relationship with this 60-year NGO based in Bangalore.

BGMS provides a safe haven and education to over 300 disadvantaged children, abused women and senior women. CSG, alongside Rotary India, proudly stands as one of BGMS's largest financial sponsors. However, CSG's partnership with BGMS extends beyond financial support. The dedication and selflessness of CSGers around the world are exemplified through the volunteer time off taken by employees each year. One of those volunteers included our CEO, Brian Shepherd, during his trip to Bangalore this past year.

Over the past two years, CSG's impact on BGMS has been substantial. The company has funded the construction of a second story on the school building, creating additional space for learning. New computer and learning labs, along with new desks for the entire school, have been provided, ensuring that the students have access to modern educational resources. CSG's dedication to creating a positive societal impact reflects the company's core values and its commitment to being a leader in corporate citizenship.

Empowering Future Generations for Success

In South Africa, CSG employees provide mentorship, tutoring and guidance to help students achieve their academic goals through the Bursary Program and the Graduate Program.

The Bursary Program has been instrumental in changing the lives of deserving students who do not have the financial means to cover tuition costs. This initiative provided nearly 30 students an opportunity to pursue higher education, who otherwise would have been unable to continue their studies due to a lack of funding. By investing in their education, CSG provides students with a life-changing opportunity to break free from the cycle of poverty and unlock their full potential.

The impact of the Bursary Program extends beyond financial support. Many of the students who have benefited from this program have gone on to join CSG's Graduate Program.

Supporting a seamless transition from being a bursary recipient to a valued member of the Graduate Program showcases the commitment of CSG employees to nurturing talent and providing long-term career opportunities.

The Graduate Program at CSG is designed to provide work-integrated learning experiences to fresh graduates from tertiary learning institutions. By immersing students in real-world challenges and providing them with strong mentorship, CSG ensures that these graduates bridge the gap between campus and corporate life seamlessly. This comprehensive training equips participating individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their career journey.

The impact of the Graduate Program goes beyond the immediate benefits for the graduates. Many go on to become employees at CSG, contributing their expertise and passion to the company's ongoing success. By investing in the development of these young professionals, CSG employees are helping shape individual careers and foster a culture of continuous growth and innovation throughout the organization.

Improving Communication for All

In today’s digital landscape, email serves as a cornerstone of communication. The CSG Email Services Team goes beyond simply meeting our client’s digital communication needs by carefully developing email solutions that are accessible to all.

Individuals facing disabilities, be it visual impairments, cognitive differences, or motor skill limitations, encounter obstacles in accessing vital information within emails. Elements like small fonts, disorganized content or intricate designs contribute to the difficulty of navigating these messages. Addressing these challenges is not just a moral imperative; it is a commitment to guarantee that individuals, regardless of their abilities, can operate at their optimal level.

In a significant initiative this year, CSG partnered with a leading accessibility training partner to ensure product designers and developers are not only trained but also well-equipped with the necessary knowledge to create and deliver accessible digital content design. Investing in email accessibility transcends mere compliance with standards, it's a commitment to inclusivity.

CSG remains dedicated to continuous improvement and collaborates with our accessibility partner to conduct assessments on all newly created or modified email content. The email services team diligently incorporates necessary changes into email templates, emphasizing clear and concise content, descriptive subject lines, easily readable fonts and keyboard accessibility, among other considerations. Each email undergoes meticulous evaluation to ensure it meets stringent accessibility standards.

Taking this commitment further, the team proactively extends its assessment efforts to evaluate email templates for other clients, ensuring that digital content created and sent through the Precision Email service aligns with prevailing accessibility guidelines. By embracing email accessibility, CSG not only fosters improved communication channels but also contributes to the creation of more inclusive workplaces and communities, where everyone feels valued and heard.

Our team has completed extensive, customized training on the most current accessibility standards for email development. We use this foundation of knowledge to incorporate code that meets accessibility guidelines. We also use testing tools like screen readers and code inspection to validate our efforts. We are proud to have the skillsets that help us expand and broaden the reach of our customers.

Accessibility Beyond Email

CSG has collaborated with its accessibility partner to craft a comprehensive roadmap for advancing other accessibility initiatives. This undertaking involved conducting interviews across multiple teams to gain insights into current accessibility practices. Each workgroup received a customized roadmap outlining steps to enhance accessibility practices throughout the company.

This effort led to the establishment of a dedicated cross-functional team focused on accessibility, guided by the following principles:

§ Stay abreast of the dynamic global regulatory landscape to meet all customer accessibility needs.

§ Foster communication and collaboration across divisions by establishing contacts within all divisions and major product lines.

§ Promote cross-team collaboration by facilitating open communication and knowledge sharing among engineering and development teams as they explore new accessibility techniques, such as automated testing.

CSG has taken a proactive step by planning the incorporation of Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPAT) developed for the Forte Checkout application. The Forte Checkout application has two VPATs, one based on the WCAG 2.1 standard and another on the Section 508 standard. This strategic move positions CSG to pursue additional opportunities in providing robust accessibility solutions.

Bold Action for the Planet

In 2023, CSG announced its commitment to drive environmental change and work toward reducing our carbon footprint by achieving carbon neutrality in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2035. This target signifies a pivotal step in our unwavering dedication to driving positive change for the planet by embracing environmental sustainability as a fundamental value.

Our pledge demonstrates dedication to curbing greenhouse gas emissions directly originating from our operations and energy consumption. It forms a pivotal part of our comprehensive sustainability strategy, including investments in renewable energy, energy efficiency enhancements, flexible work options and the adoption of innovative technologies that reduce our carbon footprint across our operations.

CSG recognizes that achieving carbon neutrality requires collaborative efforts that start internally and extend to our stakeholders, industry partners and experts. We’ve already begun to implement robust initiatives that foster sustainability and environmental resilience and recently obtained a Prime rating from ISS and AA from MSCI. As we embark on this transformative journey, CSG remains steadfast in our commitment to transparency, accountability and tracking our progress. We won’t stop until our actions align with our aspirations.

Cultivating a Sustainable and Eco-Conscious Workplace

At CSG, taking care of the environment is not just a responsibility; it is a fundamental value. Committed to sustainability, we recognize the significance of involving our employees in environmental stewardship to create a sustainable and eco-conscious workplace. By fostering awareness and providing educational opportunities, we empower our team to actively contribute to a greener future, both within our organization and in the broader community.

Cultivating a culture of environmental responsibility inspires our employees to make eco-friendly choices both at work and in their personal lives. At CSG, we amplify this commitment with our “Green Your Routine” initiative, designed to promote sustainable practices and environmental consciousness in our daily lives. By integrating eco-friendly habits into our routines, we aspire to make a meaningful impact on the health of our planet.

Sustainability in Action With Bilqees Green

Bilqees Green, one of CSG’s human resource business partners in South Africa, actively promotes and supports the company’s sustainability initiatives, both within the company and in the broader community. In 2023, Bilqees organized a community volunteer event with a group of CSG employees to plant nearly 100 trees at Silver Leaf Primary School, situated in an impoverished community in South Africa. The once barren surroundings are now a thriving green oasis contributing to the preservation of the local ecosystem and a healthier environment for the students. In addition to planting trees, Bilqess and her team educated local children on the benefits of growing their own food and caring for the environment by creating mini food gardens, leaving a lasting positive impact on the environment.

CSG’s volunteers and our community partners left the day with a deep sense of satisfaction and connection to the environment as they witnessed the impact of their efforts in helping to create a more sustainable future. Through their education and action, the event not only helped beautify the community, it instilled an understanding of how one small step can make a lasting impact in the world. Bilqees’s ongoing efforts and advocacy at CSG serve as an inspiration, demonstrating how collective actions can help shape a more sustainable future for all.

Green Your Routine Spotlight:

Sustainable Travel Partnerships

CSG partners with Uber for Business, a new collaboration to promote sustainable transportation options among employees. Through this partnership, CSG employees are encouraged to choose eco-friendly ride options, such as electric vehicles (EVs), which help reduce carbon emissions. The integration of Uber's platform allows users to track their carbon footprint, providing valuable insights into the environmental impact of their transportation choices. In 2023, CSG employees collectively avoided approximately 142,858.04 kg of CO2 emissions by opting for EV trips. This initiative aligns with CSG's commitment to fostering a greener future and empowers employees to make environmentally conscious decisions.

CSG leverages its partnership with United, the company's most frequently used airline, to track mileage. By monitoring the distance traveled by employees, CSG gains valuable data to assess its carbon footprint. This data-driven approach allows CSG to measure and analyze its environmental impact, enabling the company to set benchmarks and track progress year over year. By continuously monitoring and analyzing this data, CSG aims to make informed decisions and take proactive steps to further reduce its environmental footprint, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable practices.

Proactive Approach to E-Waste Disposal With Life Span Technology

CSG is steadfast in our dedication to sustainable practices across various facets of our business and is R2V.3 certified where we ensure that all e-waste or recycled equipment is audited and broken down to its core commodity. CSG utilizes Life Span Technology for its e-waste recycling services and actively pursues opportunities for the responsible disposal of IT equipment, preventing these materials from entering landfills and potentially causing environmental pollution. This forward-thinking approach on hardware disposal not only aligns with environmental best practices but also sets CSG apart as a leader in the industry.

In 2023, CSG’s IT recycling program successfully diverted a total of 69,063.7 pounds of e-waste from landfills. This initiative plays a pivotal role in reducing the demand for raw material extraction and the manufacturing of new devices. This resource conservation not only contributes to energy savings but also aids in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, effectively minimizing the overall carbon footprint associated with both the production and disposal of IT equipment.
