Schoolhouse Now Open for Visitors GLENVILLE – The Green Corners School in West Glenville is now open for the summer on Sunday afternoons from 1-5pm for visitors to explore a one-room schoolhouse museum. Visitors are welcome to see what a day in a one room school would have been like. Group tours are by appointment only, and admission is free. The quaint red brick schoolhouse is located on Potter Road, near the intersection with Green Corners Road Extension. It is the oldest known unaltered one-room schoolhouse in the Town of Glenville and still evokes the original atmosphere of open farms and stone fences. Also, any person or family that would like to help by volunteering for a Sunday afternoon is very welcome and needed. Please contact Ruth or Jim Long if you’d like a tour or would like to volunteer at 882-1026 or cabinclan@ nycap.rr.com. For more information about the school, go to: http://www. townofglenville.org/Public_Documents/GlenvilleNY_Historian/index. (P)
