Dining& Entertainment Glendora Vegetarian Club Glendora had a difficult time getting an idea of what God is like. When she decided God is Love, she knew right away what God is like. Everybody knows what love is. All existence is in love and what love creates. God creates everything. There is only God, and what God-love creates is good. If it isn’t good, God didn’t create it, so don’t pay any attention to it. It doesn’t exist. There is just one thing to think about: love. Jokes 1. The Baptist minister visited his flock every Wednesday. He asked why Farmer Brown hadn’t been in church for a long time. Farmer Brown said he didn’t go because he only had farming clothes, so the minister bought him a beautiful outfit. But Farmer Brown still didn’t come back to church. The minister was appalled and wanted to know why. Farmer Brown said, “The clothes you gave me are so nice I thought I could go to the Episcopal Church.” 2. The bank robber said to the teller, “One peep out of you and you’re geography.”

She said, “Don’t you mean history?” He said, “Don’t change the subject.” 3. Two women were talking. One said the minister told us we shouldn’t say anything about anybody unless it is good, and boy is this good! 4. If a horse’s nose is pointing south, where is his tail pointing? To the ground. 5. Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty has a great fall. Said the lawyer, “The bricks were loose. We have a great case. We’ll sue Mother Goose.”

Castleton-Schodack Kiwanis Club Chicken BBQ CASTLETON/SCHODACK - The Castleton-Schodack Kiwanis Club will once again be firing up the grill and selling our famous Chicken BBQ dinners on Sunday, October 25. This is one of our largest fundraisers, and all of the proceeds stay right here in our community, helping to improve the lives of local children. The cost of the dinners is $10 each, and each meal includes a half-chicken, baked potato and coleslaw. Dinners can be picked up between 12:00 noon and 4:00pm at the Castleton Fire Company, located at 11 Green Ave in Castleton. To pre-order your dinner, you can call (518) 732-4228 or email us at castletonkiwanis@gmail.com. Please make note of a few changes to our BBQ that will allow us to hold this fundraiser and have it go smoothly: 1) This event will be drive-through dinner pick-up only; customers must stay in their vehicles. 2) Pre-orders and specific pick-up times are strongly encouraged. This will help us manage traffic flow and minimize the time customers spend waiting in the car line. 3) No special orders will be accepted (i.e. 2 potatoes, no coleslaw), again, to help ensure wait times don’t climb. 4) Volunteers will be helping with traffic direction and flow; please help us help you, by being aware and following their directions. We are very appreciative of our community’s patronage, and hope to see you on October 25!
