GREENWICH – The Greater Greenwich Chamber of Commerce is hosting their 12th annual Whipple City 5K run/walk on June 18th. Come join the fun and support your local community by running or walking through the beautiful village and countryside of Greenwich. Race begins at 8:30am. Civil War Commemoration Continues SO. GLENS FALLS – Parks Bentley Place, 53 Ferry Blvd., So. Glens Falls, continues with an exhibit entitled “Remembering the Men that Served Between 1861-1865. Cornell University Cooperative Extension Warren County was awarded a New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets grant to develop a Warren County Farm Guide and encourages farmers to participate. A Warren County Farm Guide will allow for more collaborating information to be made available to the public in their search for locally grown products and educational farm tours. Randy’s Run LAKE GEORGE – The 10th annual Randy’s Run will be held Saturday, May 21. Proceeds are used to benefit Lake George students. The 5K Run and Walk in memory of Randal Madison will be held at 9am at Lake George Elementary School, Sun Valley Drive, Lake George. Check in will begin at 7:30am and registration will be from 7:30-8:45am. The entry fee is $15 ($12 if you pre-register). Randal Madison, who died unexpectedly in 2001 at age 31 of a brain aneurysm, was a Lake George Elementary School teacher. He grew up in Saratoga Springs and lived in Hudson Falls with his wife and two sons. His colleagues, friends, students and family have set up this run in Madison’s memory. The racecourse starts at Lake George Elementary School and follows the bikeway where Madison ran with his colleagues after school. Last year’s run drew over 200 participants and all 500 elementary school students took part in the Fun Run portion of Randy’s Run during the school day. (A)
