I Am I Can, a mentoring program for girls in grades 9-12, is seeking adult female mentors to work with new students to the program. As a mentor you would spend time with and get to know your student on a one-toone basis, while developing a relationship that provides support and guidance. If you are recently retired woman looking for some meaningful volunteer work, this may be for you. The organization is currently looking for mentors in the Clifton Park to Glens Falls areas. Immediate needs are to support girls in Hudson Falls, South Glens Fall, Glens Falls and Ballston Spa school districts. Fundraising Effort for Playground Kicks Off
GREENFIELD – The parents of Greenfield Elementary, a rural school in the Saratoga Springs District, have boldly embarked upon one of the largest recent projects of its kind that is garnering lots of attention. Its parent teacher organization, the Home School Association (HSA), is now leading a community “Feed the Dragon” campaign to be sure its children continue to have a recess area that is distinguishable, safe and accessible to all. The campaign features the Greenfield Elementary School dragon mascot and includes a year-long marketing campaign driven to raise money and build awareness for the project. Along with grant application writing, hundreds of sponsorship packets are being mailed to area businesses and residents. Events throughout the year will include such things as student dances, a “dragon” cookbook sale, a 5K race, in-school contests and a community gala early next year. The playground team developed a new logo, tagline “Feed the Dragon” and multiple promotional materials are being distributed throughout the region. Border Collie mixes. These two poor babies were abandoned at one of our rescue teams home. They were found on her porch left in a box. She asked us to take them and how could we refuse. They are adorable. Now all they need is a forever home to call their own. They are up to date on shots and dewormed and ready to go home.

is a little pit mix pup. She was left chained in the yard and almost starved to death. She was only skin and bones when she was rescued After such a hard start in life she has the most loving disposition and wants a real home to call her own. She has been vet checked, dewormed and up to date on shots.
