Bulletin Board USS SLATER Returns to Albany ALBANY – The historic naval ship USS SLATER has returned to Albany to begin her 16th season as a museum and attraction in the Capital Region. USS SLATER is owned and operated by Destroyer Escort Historical Museum, a private, non-profit organization. The Museum receives no regular Federal, State, or local government financial support. USS SLATER is located on the Hudson River in Downtown Albany just south of the Dunn Memorial Bridge. Public hours will be Wed.Sun., 10am-4pm. Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for children. “Laughin’ Night” LOUDONVILLE – Celebrate spring with funny stories! On Saturday, April 13, the Colonie Town Library will host a Laughin’ Night storytelling festival. The first event at 7pm will be humorous stories for families with school-aged children. The second event will begin at 8:30pm and will feature funny stories for teens and adults. Teen tellers from Children at the Well will entertain and inspire with humorous tales from many cultures, and will be joined by professional storytellers from the area. Laughin’ Night is free! Healing Service LATHAM – William M. Champine will conduct a Healing Service on Sunday, April 21, at 3pm, at the Holiday Inn Express Latham, 400 Old Loudon Road. For seniors, the celebration will start Saturday, April 13 with refreshments & a special showing at 1pm of “The Artist.” On Monday an eReader class starts at 6:30pm. On Wednesday, author Julia Pomeroy will speak at 10:30am & Madison Wealth Managers will provide a retirement seminar at 6:30pm. The therapy dog will visit at 11am on Saturday, April 20.
