We are helping Poetry, the Cinderella of the Arts, find her glass slipper.

NOVENA PRAYER TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN (Never known to fail) Oh, most beautiful flower of Mt. Carmel, fruitful vine splendor of Heaven. Blessed Mother of the Son of God. Immaculate Virgin, assist me in my necessity. Oh, Star of the Sea, help me and show me, herein you are my mother. Oh, Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth! I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart to answer me in this necessity. There are none that can withstand your power. Oh, show me herein you are my mother. Oh, Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee (3x). Holy Mother, I place this cause in your hands (3x). Sweet Mother, I place this cause in your hands (3x). Holy Spirit, you who solve all problems, light all roads so that I can attain my goal, you who gave me the divine gift to forgive and forget all evil against me and that in all instances in my life you are with me. I want in this short prayer to thank you for all things as you confirm once again that I never want to be separated from you in eternal glory. Thank you for your mercy towards me and mine. The person must say this prayer 3 consecutive days, after 3 days, the request will be granted. This prayer must be published after the favor is granted. P.G. ST. JUDE’S NOVENA May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be adored, glorified, loved and preserved throughout the world now and forever. Sacred Heart of Jesus pray for us, St. Jude, worker of miracles, pray for us St. Jude, help of the hopeless, pray for us. Say this prayer 9 times a day. By the 8th day, your prayer will be answered. “GO THE EXTRA MILE” On Sunday, February 23, 2014, the Nassau and Stuyvesant Reformed Churches will hear the words of Matthew 5:38-48 and focus on Jesus’ message which urges us to live in whole and holy relationships, especially with those who cannot see beyond the legalisms that justify oppression and injustice. We need to do more than love those who have violated us. We need to do more than to just love our neighbor. We must love our enemies as well. In the sermon titled, “Go The Extra Mile,” the Reverend Edward L. Van Kampen will speak to how our baptismal vows promise that we will live a transformed, transfigured life that serves to result in our peace with God. The Nassau Reformed Church begins worship at 11 a.m. in its Chapel at 43 Church Street (Route 20), one half mile east of the only traffic light in the village. The Stuyvesant Reformed Church begins worship at 9 a.m. in its sanctuary, just south of the only caution light in the hamlet of Stuyvesant.

TROY and the WAR of 1812 On Sunday, March 2nd, at 1:30PM, Michael Barrett, Executive Director of the Hudson Mohawk Industrial Gateway, will be at the Troy Public Library to discuss Troy and the War of 1812. Due to its strategic location, and despite being a very young and small village, Troy men and businesses were instrumental in the prosecution of the war. Troy men took the first British flag captured during the war. Captain John Ellis Wool began his 52-year military career as one leader of General Stephen Van Rensselaer’s failed invasion of Canada. Local businessmen provided weaponry, equipment, clothing and foodstuffs to the troops, and the use of “Uncle Sam” as a depiction of our nation has its origin here in the City. Come learn more about this important time in our city’s history. This program is free and open to the public. Registration is necessary. For more information, and to register, call the library at 274-7071 or online at www.thetroylibrary.org. The Troy Public Library is located at 100 2nd Street, Troy, NY.
