Thankfulness

Often, we notice the things that are not working or need attention. Crossroads at Northglenn is grateful for two people on our staff who spend their days noticing all the things that need fixing or that need attention: Steven Tubbs and Fidel Barreras. Steven is our Maintenance Technician. His mind must be wired with Intel processors—he can fix just about anything.

If the part doesn’t exist, he’ll make it. The word “can’t” is not in Steven’s vocabulary.

Fidel Barreras serves in Janitorial. Fidel only sits down to take his meals. Otherwise, he is always on the move. And it is a good thing. Every day there is a carpet that needs cleaning, a floor that needs swept and mopped, a corner that needs a little paint. All done quietly, efficiently, and with a smile.

GIFT TO CUBA Here in the U.S., we have experienced the impact of our economy tipped off balance by supply chain problems and the resulting higher prices and lack of some goods. But imagine those issues PLUS no food on the shelves, no value at all in your currency, and no federal relief check to bail you out. This is a short description of the challenges facing Cuba and the Cuban people.

In response, the Cuban government has opened a window for relief aid to flow into this island nation by suspending tariffs on medicines, food, cleaning products, and personal care items through the end of the year. Maranatha Volunteers International has had a longstanding connection with the people of Cuba and their leaders, completing more than 200 church construction and renovation projects in Cuba.

Maranatha has committed to help Cuba now in their time of need by purchasing and organizing shipping containers filled with the much needed supplies.
