Many people wonder when it is the right time to bring a family member to a memory care community like Crossroads at Lakewood. Ask yourself these questions:
Do you feel overwhelmed or resentful due to caregiving demands and lack sufficient support?
Does caregiving affect your job, marriage, or relationships with your children?
Does your loved one require 24/7 care, is unsafe at home, or isolated?
Has managing their challenging behaviors has become unmanageable?
For you who have family members here at Crossroads, you know that choosing memory care isn’t abandoning your loved one—it’s a decision to enhance their care and your quality of life. Professional memory care offers 24/7 support that’s difficult to provide at home, reducing stress and improving your relationship. Recognizing these signs can help you make the best choice for everyone’s well-being.
You and your loved one deserve the best. Even in advanced dementia, hope and joy are possible with the compassionate support of the right senior living community. Visit Crossroads at Lakewood. We are truly all about “Peace of Mind Living.”
Maranatha builds schools worldwide, often in areas where children struggle to access a Christian education without traveling far from home. For many, like refugees seeking an education, these schools are a lifeline. This February, Maranatha volunteers will begin constructing a large school in Mizoram, a state in India bordering Myanmar. The ongoing conflict in Myanmar has driven many refugees to the region. The new school will offer vital learning opportunities for local children and those displaced by the war. Two young boys were spending the night at their grandparents’ house the week before Christmas. At bedtime, the two boys knelt beside their beds to say their prayers. The younger one began praying at the top of his lungs:
“I PRAY FOR A NEW BICYCLE...”
“I PRAY FOR A NEW NINTENDO...”
His older brother leaned over, nudged him and said, “Why are you shouting? God isn’t deaf.” To which the little brother replied, “No, but Grandma is!”
