Crossroads at Lakewood welcomes Sharon Helden as our new Marketing and Admissions Director. Sharon has worked in Senior Living for the last seven years with various levels including Independent, Assisted Living and Memory Care.

Sharon was attracted to Crossroads at Lakewood Memory Care because of the welcoming atmosphere, lovely residents, and caring staff. “Memory Care is my passion, and I enjoy working with families to find actionable solutions for their loved ones’ care,” says Sharon. She adds, “It is a victory for all involved when a resident comes to us, and we are able to witness them thrive and blossom to their full potential.”

When she isn’t at the office she is hiking, fishing, camping, swimming, or skiing. Welcome, Sharon!

Update from Maranatha

WELL DEDICATED IN KENYA WITH TIE TO CROSSROADS

A Maranatha well was dedicated recently in Kangangu, a village northeast of Nairobi, Kenya. The well was funded in part by gifts in memory of Rudy Allen, a Crossroads Maintenance Director in Lakewood, Colorado, who died suddenly in a motorcycle accident in 2021. The well was drilled near a new church structure built for 25 adults and 10 children actively worshiping there. The church started in 2016 with just a handful of members who worshiped in one of the members’ homes. Later, they rented a room where they worshiped until their building was constructed. Prior to the drilling of this well, the community purchased water from delivery trucks or obtained rainwater when available.

Exercising together with YouTube and the staff

Maranatha will drill 700 wells this year and maintain 840 wells already in service around the world. Learn more at www .maranatha.org or by visiting the Maranatha channel. Just scan this code.

STINGY OLD LAWYER

A stingy old lawyer, who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness, was determined to prove wrong the old saying, “You can’t take it with you.

After much thought and consideration, the old ambulance-chaser finally figured out how to take at least some of his money with him when he died. He instructed his wife to go to the bank and withdraw enough money to fill two pillowcases. He then directed her to take the bags of money to the attic and leave them directly above his bed.

His plan: When he passed away, he would reach out and grab the bags on his way to heaven. Several weeks after the funeral, the deceased lawyer’s wife, up in the attic cleaning, came upon the two forgotten pillowcases stuffed with cash. “Oh, that old fool,” she exclaimed. “I knew he should have had me put the money in the basement.”
