GET PLENTY OF REST Not only can sleep reduce your stress level, but sleep is how your body repairs itself. For this reason, getting an adequate amount of sleep can result in a stronger immune system, making it easier for your body to fight off viruses.

Welcome Spring! Although we have been having a snow storm every week, the days in between are getting warm and sunny. We are starting to go outside more often to either walk or sit and talk. We are also excited to share that we will be going on an outing to the Butterfly Pavilion

at the end of the month. Look to your email for details. APRIL 1: April Fool’s Day Fun

Sleep is also important because it can improve memory and concentration. Aim for at least seven and a half to nine hours of sleep per night. Causes of insomnia can include inactivity during the day and too much caffeine. Or it can be a sign of a medical condition like sleep apnea or restless leg syndrome. If you have trouble sleeping, talk to your doctor to find the underlying cause.

Some Great April Fool’s Day Hoaxes

In 2005 “Ban dihydrogen monoxide,” was the cry. “This is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless substance which is contributing to global warming.” On closer inspection, dihydrogen monoxide is H20 (atomic chemistry) or plain water. Burger King once published a full-page advertisement in ‘Today’ announcing a new item to their menu: a ‘Left-Handed Whopper’ specially designed for the 33 million left-handed Americans. According to the text, the new burger had the same ingredients as the original Whopper (lettuce, tomato, hamburger patty, etc.), but all the condiments were rotated through 180 degrees for the benefit of their left-handed customers. The next day Burger King followed-up with an advert saying that although the Left-Handed Whopper was a hoax, thousands of customers had gone into restaurants to request the new sandwich. In addition, according to Burger King, other customers requested their own ‘right-handed Whopper burger.’ And an all-time favorite, back in 1957, no lesser source than the BBC, informed us that Spaghetti came from bushes. In true reverential, BBC documentary tone, Richard Dimbleby explained how Spaghetti was harvested from bushes, dried, and then processed into strands of spaghetti. The audience lapped up the hoax, phoning in to ask where they could buy a Spaghetti bush.
