An Endowment Legacy
When we opened our doors in 2012, we did so out of a heart to serve the neighbors in our city who were traditionally under-resourced. Ten years later, over 600 Leaders have graduated from our program with plans to enter new careers and create new futures for their families. Lives are changed, yet there is still more to be done.
As one of the few programs in the Denver Metro Area that offers a development-based solution to poverty, we want to continue to grow our model that empowers and uplifts the people we serve. The long-term security of an endowment will allow CrossPurpose to sustainably scale impact, bringing families out of poverty in Denver for decades to come.
It’s always been about the people. One hundred years from now, we hope to see people in Denver continue to find dignity, meaning, and hope for a new future through the CrossPurpose program.
Jason Janz CrossPurpose CEO"We want to build a legacy institution of excellence in our city. One that exists for all, endures a hundred years from now and empowers tens of thousands of families to escape poverty."
Building the Foundation
To create the future we envision for the city of Denver, our work towards long-term sustainability begins now. Here you'll see the values that guide us in these endeavors.
GROWTHMENTALITY DEEPROOTS
We opened our second location in the fall of 2021 with two more to come by the end of 2025, making our goal to serve more neighbors a tangible reality.
In a city often inhabited by short-term residents and marked by transience, we ’ re committed to staying and seeing growth in Denver.

CONTINUINGEXCELLENCE
We believe that the neighbors in our program deserve the best resources, spaces, and services available on their journey to success.
Special thanks to Ben Warwick and Chad Williams of Aveo Capital, who are instrumental in our endowment management and the launch of our new Give Different Society.
2022 Endowment Report
Ben Warwick, AVEO CapitalThe CrossPurpose endowment is composed of assets invested with the objective of long-term appreciation, to provide both immediate and permanent support for our organization.
The endowment holds investments in domestic and foreign equity and fixed income, along with positions that enhance diversification (including commodities and high yield bonds). All our investments are owned in liquid format, and we utilize index funds for a sizable amount of market exposure.
The current rate of spending, which was set by the CrossPurpose Board of Directors, is an annual distribution of 4.5% of assets annually. The endowment return is intended to maintain purchasing power (inflation) and offset spending. A comprehensive investment and spending policy guides the management of the endowment.
