I usually don't have a plan for my paintings. I wanted to create a moody and contrasting vibe using indigo for this one. I worked intuitively and loosely, adding embellishments such as hand embroidery and beading to create a unique area of focus.
As I worked on the piece, I realized that the colors and moodiness in Ohio's winter sunrises had inspired me subconsciously. It's incredible how inspiration works. “Winter sunlight is like a warm old soul, spreading love in the winter's cold.”

There are moments when I stumble upon something that ignites my imagination. Even if I don't fully comprehend its meaning, I take hold of it if it inspires me.
Recently, I came across some die-cut wooden hearts and purchased a few packs to see where they would take me. I started by spray painting and drizzling paint on each heart until I felt content with the result.
Then, I decided to attach them to a background, preferably wood.
So, I went to a hardware store and bought some birch plywood pieces. I divided the board into blocks based on its dimensions, and to my surprise, every single wooden heart I had prepared fit perfectly into each block. With my Dad's assistance, we added small wooden strips to create a frame. To make the three-dimensional effect stand out, I added blocks of those wooden strips underneath each heart.
This art piece was crafted through envisioning, trust, exploration, determination, and execution. I hope its intention is conveyed.

Cheryl and I recently met, and we hit it off right away. We both are passionate about spreading positivity and living life to the fullest.
When you visit Crimson's website, you'll see their motto, "Live Vibrantly," while Anna's website promotes "Vibrancy for Your Life." It was clear that our values aligned, so we decided to team up.
When I asked Cheryl about her favorite flower, she mentioned orchids, so I created an abstract representation. I hope you enjoy it!

As a creative, I've learned that going on "artist dates" is essential for inspiration.
During one of these dates, I found a pair of jumbo rattan forks and spoons, which I painted and titled a punny yet appropriate quote from Steve Jobs: "Stay hungry, stay foolish." It reminds me to keep learning and trying new things, be brave, take risks, and always go with your gut.
