PROJECT ENVELOPE

In order to bring a heterogeneous and multiple character to the project, I had to leave the orthonormal space to enter into a dissemination space in which the different entities of the program develop from sprawling matter.

The projects of Zaha hadid (the phaeno science center in wolfsburg and the soho gallery in beijing) is a good example of this. Here each programmatic entity tends to a kind of immanence. The elements are part of the same architectural ensemble but offer a multiplicity of facets of the project. Due to this disseminated form, the spaces are experienced in different ways as can be seen in the “living curve” project where the ambiences are perceived differently depending on the places in the building thanks to a work on the curve.

In order to attract a multiplicity of audiences, users from different categories and cultures, the programme is made up of different entities with diverse and varied functions linked by the different gateways through which users pass.

Program entities

These different entities are:

- At the bottom left, a museum of architecture and heritage.

- Above on the left, an events building.

- In the centre of the bridge, an observatory at the high point of the bridge.

- At the bottom right, a commercial.

- Above right, a public relaxation area.

- The building on the far right in front of the museum is intended for tourists for information.

Different levels of gateways

These entities are linked by the different gateways that connect them but also link the bridge to its context. There are three of them, each with different functions. The road level, the city level and the Nile level.

Shortage Of Public Spaces

Overall, this bridge makes it possible to offer more public space to the city given the shortage of such spaces. At the same time, it ensures the continuity of the green network between the two shores.
