Antony Makatu, widely known as Tony Mactony, is a multitalented individual hailing from Thohoyandou, a small township named Makwarela, in Limpopo.

With a passion that knows no bounds, he effortlessly navigates the worlds of acting, directing, radio presenting, writing, designing, and casting Not only does he command attention on stage and screen, but he also shapes narratives and discovers exceptional talent behind the scenes.

Connecting talent to the spotlight

Early Beginnings and Passion for Music: From a young age, Mr. Makatu developed a profound passion for the entertainment industry, starting his journey as a musician. His love for music flourished, gaining exposure within his local community when he was just in Grade 8. As time went on, his affinity for being a radio presenter grew, but like many black parents, his own parents emphasized the importance of education and encouraged him to focus on his studies as a backup plan for the future.

Venturing into Engineering and Discovering Radio: Following his parents' guidance, Mr. Makatu pursued a qualification in Chemical Engineering at Vhembe Tvet College. Despite not fully understanding the field, he saw it as a tangible option for his future. Once he completed his engineering studies, he made a courageous leap into radio, which quickly propelled his career within the industry. Over the years, he has worked for notable radio stations such as Pheli FM, Commuter FM, and currently shines on VMC Planet Radio.

Rising in Television and Film: In addition to radio, Antony Makatu has made his mark in the world of television and film. He has appeared in popular TV telenovelas like Generation, where he played a short-term role, as well as in the SABC 3 telenovela THE ESTATE, where his character graces the screen. He has also been involved in the forthcoming series SHAKA ILEMBE, working alongside esteemed actors such as Nomzamo Mbatha. Currently, he is captivating audiences as Sheriff AB in the eTV telenovela, The Black Door/Isitha.

Tsiko Malindi, known by his stage name Tsiko Mal, is a talented gospel singer hailing from Makonde, just a few kilometers away from Thohoyandou At the age of 30, Tsiko is in possession of a civil engineering diploma and a safety management diploma However, his true passion lies in spreading the message of gospel music Growing up in a Christian household, Tsiko's inspiration to become a gospel singer came from his mother, who was a member of the worship team at their church Following in her footsteps, Tsiko made the decision to dedicate his life to Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior This spiritual journey paved the way for his career as a gospel artist, with the motto "Working with Jesus and not for Jesus" guiding his every step.

For Tsiko, being a gospel artist is not just a profession; it is a way of life. He understands that being a Christian goes beyond mere belief, but rather, encompasses being an ambassador of the Kingdom of God. With this in mind, Tsiko embraced the path of an ambassador of Christ through his music. On 28th April 2023, Tsiko Mal had the opportunity to have his first live recording, marking a significant milestone in his career. After years of releasing singles, this event was a true blessing from above. Tsiko tirelessly marketed the recording, utilizing various media channels to invite people from all walks of life to come and support him. His aim was not only to attract the public but also to promote the brand of Tsiko Mal. Despite financial obstacles as an up-andcoming artist, Tsiko went the extra mile, visiting local schools, organizations, and universities. He even traveled to nearby provinces to market and sell tickets for his live recording.

Collaborating with Takie Ndou had always been a dream for Tsiko, and with Takie's support, that dream became a reality Embracing the advice given to him, "You should not work for God but work with God," Tsiko understood that everything he did was done under a covenant with God. He continuously prayed for the strength to honor this covenant.

As Tsiko embarks on this musical journey, he encourages everyone to "Tenda a dzhene" (allow God to invade) By inviting God into every aspect of our lives, we experience His love and receive His blessings Tsiko is immensely grateful to his fans for their unwavering support, which he witnessed firsthand during his first recording titled "Goodness and Mercy."

The Certified Dyans, a musical trio hailing from the Eastern Cape, consisting of Khona Daki (20), Lulwando Tose (21), and Azania Mfinyongo (21), came together in 2015 with a profound belief in the power of "different ideas" to yield exceptional outcomes in any situation

Refusing to let his background dictate his future, Khona holds unwavering faith in the group and envisions the Certified Dyans as the catalyst for a reimagined legacy akin to the legendary Brenda Fassie

"As a singer, Brenda Fassie's triumph inspires me because my family and I also come from a township in Cape Town. It serves as proof that anyone, regardless of their origin, can attain international recognition through hard work and talent," Khona affirms.

Azania takes us back to a time before the Certified Dyans even existed, tracing their roots to when the three musicians were still in school Even then, their unique sound captivated their peers

"As children, we would often invent songs and perform them for each other. It was a collective effort that included contributions from fellow students and even bus drivers," recalls Azania. Encountering widespread praise and encouragement for their musical abilities, the Certified Dyans began to take their craft seriously, and their careers gained momentum from that point onward.

Their impressive discography stands as a testament to their success, bolstered by collaborations with some of Africa's most renowned musicians. Lulwando shares that their recent collaborators include Mr. Brown, Baby Boy AV from Nigeria, and Soulful G, the mastermind behind the hit track "Asiyeke."

The Certified Dyans have upheld a steadfast work ethic, earning the respect of established musicians who were eager to contribute as guests on their forthcoming EP. "We have an EP coming soon, " Lulwando announces "We received tremendous support from artists like Soulful G, Mr. Brown, Sbuda, and Baby Boy Av, which got us even more excited." Expressing their aspirations for the future, the Certified Dyans express a desire to collaborate with Ololade Asake, an Afrobeats enthusiast who greatly admires their work on the Amapiano album.
