E-LEARNING SUCCESSFUL NPD E-LEARNING PROGRAM DEMONSTRATES YOUR COMMITMENT TO INNOVATION In April of this year, the Fluid Handling TEC Institute introduced a series of ten e-learning modules on the seven stages of the Crane NPD Process. Over 400 Fluid Handling associates participated in this training, collectively completing a total of 3,786 sessions which equated to an impressive completion rate of 87%! To celebrate the successful deployment of the program and recognize those who participated in it, the names of every associate who completed all ten modules were entered into a drawing that took place on July 15 where they could win one of ten $250 Amazon gift cards. The ten associates who won are: • Joyce Neer CP&S • Jim Dabulskis Crane Nuclear • Luke Roberts BS&U • Frank Perrotti Westlock / CP&E • Andras Chromicsek CP&E • Michael Sowada Barksdale • Vinod Herwade CP&E • Peter Lyle CP&E • Mayuri Bhatakande IDC • James Fealey CP&E The Fluid Handling TEC Institute was incredibly pleased by how well received this program was and the commitment to education Fluid Handling associates demonstrated by their participation. When all associates are well-versed in the NPD process steps, we as a whole can be more effective with our innovation projects. All ten modules will remain in LMS for easy access by all Fluid Handling associates as desired.

I N N O VAT I O N C H A L L E N G E ! INNOVATING TO WIN! FLUID HANDLING PATENT AWARD PROGRAM UPDATE Since our inception, Crane has maintained a heritage of innovation in all that we do. With various visionaries like P.K. Sunders and R.T. Crane himself contributing to our success through innovation at various points in our history, it only made sense that “Innovating to Win” became the mantra of the Fluid Handling’s TEC Institute. In line with that way of thinking, Crane Fluid Handling introduced its Patent Award Program to continue that tradition and motivate, recognize and reward innovation within the company. This program seeks to empower associates to take their own ideas and expertise and transform them into a new patented product. The program includes the following elements: 1. INVENTOR CERTIFICATE & COMMEMORATIVE COIN presented to the associate when the idea us filed with the patent office. 2. PATENT AWARD & CELEBRATION A patent award will be presented to the associates when the patent is issued, as well as a $5000 honorarium (collectively). The Patent Challenge that was initiated last year has been progressing nicely and associates around the world are ‘innovating to win’ in this space. We are happy to report that through this program seven different patent applications were registered in the last eight months!

As part of the course, as is custom for most of these trainings, the trainees received a free day pass to the tradeshow that was taking place that week, the 2019 Valve World Americas Expo in Houston, Texas. Valve World Americas has become the premier valve event in the United States, and Crane CP&E has consistently supported the event as both participant and sponsor since its inception. IN- CL ASS

“The training turned out to be ex tensively informative and interactive. Dale, our instructor easily created a sense of interest and passion towards the subject of study. As a Pacific Valves® inside sales engineer, the opportunity to learn about valves and valve accessories offered by our sister brands was eye opening,” said Vandana Kumar, Crane CP&E Inside Sales Engineer. “Having a year of experience in this role easily helped me connect with what was being taught in class. Learning about actuators and their technical compatibilities with our valves is extremely important for our front end line of work and I am glad I took part in this experience.” For those unfamiliar with the Valve & Actuator Training courses, these 2-3 day events are held throughout the year at different Crane locations around the world and offer associates the opportunity to expand their skillset, improve their ability to grow within the company and network with other Fluid Handling associates. Everyone is encouraged to consider attending a session pertaining to their function. The remaining course for 2019 will be held on October 1-3 in Pune, Mumbai, India.
