NOAGELIMITS_

Welton,

For decades, Hollywood treated women as temporary shining figures who started losing their cinematic value once they entered the sixth decade of their life. But something is changing.

The recent Golden Globes and Oscars highlight an important trend mature, dynamic, multi-faceted women are finally receiving the space and recognition they deserve.

A characteristic example is Demi Moore, who was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for a role that challenges perceptions about older actresses and sends a strong message about the expectations that the entertainment industry still has of women and their physical appearance. The famous actress expressed her surprise by saying “I’ve been in this business for 45 years and this is the first time I’ve been awarded as an actress.”

A similar feeling was also expressed by odie Foster, who won a Golden Globe for her role in the final season of True Detective. “I’m excited about what comes up next in life,” the actress told reporters during the ceremony.

These awards are not isolated events. In recent years, cinema and television are beginning to move away from old stereotypes and give women roles that reflect the power, complexity, and charm that comes with maturity.

Until recently, actresses who reached 50 were often relegated to minor roles. Even on the rare cases when an older woman had the leading role, the story revolved around the sadness of aging or the loss of her youthful glow.

Yet the landscape is changing. Shows like Hacks with ean Smart, in which she plays the ruthless but vulnerable comedian Deborah Vance, or Ted Lasso, in which Hannah Waddingham gives a stirring performance as Rebecca Welton, a divorced woman finding her strength again, prove that older women can be funny, seductive, authentic, and multi-faceted at the same time.

Nicole Kidman also talked about the need for more stories featuring older women, discussing her experience in Babygirl, where she plays a dynamic CEO who gets into a relationship with a younger man. “A few years ago, no one would have given a woman of my age such a role,” she noted.

OMEN O ER ARE NO EARNIN T EIR RI TF L LACE IN OLL OOD, RO IN T AT TALENT AND C ARM A E NOT IN TO DO IT A E

The importance of authenticity is now recognized by leading actresses such as Kate Winslet, who has spoken openly about how she refuses to allow her wrinkles to be digitally edited in her films. Similarly, Pamela Anderson, at the age of 5 , has embraced her natural beauty and appears without makeup, stating “I don’t have to be the most beautiful woman in the room.” She has now moved beyond the confines of the sex symbol –a title imposed on her in the 0s– and is now enjoying a second career in cinema. With her recent film “The Last Showgirl”, she won her first Golden Globe nomination –and many felt it was unfair that she wasn’t among the Oscar nominees– confirming that women don’t have to chase eternal youth to be relevant.

Michelle Yeoh, who in 2023 became the first Asian-American actress to win an Academy Award for Best Actress for “Everything Everywhere All at Once” at the age of 0, said in her acceptance speech “Ladies, never let anyone tell you that you are now outdated.” That seems to be the case with the career of the wonderful Ren e ellweger, who at 55 she’s more radiant than ever, and the recent “Bridget ones” sequel showed us the iconic star taking determinedly her life into her own hands once again.

The change is not accidental. For decades, actresses like ulia Roberts, Helen Mirren, and amie Lee Curtis –who in 2023 won her first Oscar at 4, in the Supporting Actress category for “Everything Everywhere All at Once”– have put pressure in the industry to recognize that women can be just as strong, exciting, and commercially successful even after 50. The fact that films and series featuring women in their sixth decade are now seeing huge success means that audiences are ready for this change.

The new era for women in film and television is not only about age, but also about the complexity, authenticity, and diversity of the stories they tell. We no longer see only mature women in supporting or stereotypical roles, but as real characters with a dynamic presence.

This development is vital not only for actors who are seeing their careers expand, but also for audiences, who now have the opportunity to identify with characters of all ages.

This change is not a trend. It is an inevitable step towards a more equal and realistic representation of women on the big and small screen. A new era, which will surely give us great cinematic moments.

EVANGELIA

EVANGELIA `H

IMPRESSIVE, E PLOSIVE, AND WITH PURE TALENT, EVANGELIA MAY NOT HAVE WON THE MUCH-DESIRED “TICKET” FOR EUROVISION, BUT HER FUTURE IS UNDOUBTEDLY PROMISING. RAISED BETWEEN TWO WORLDS, CRETE AND NEW YORK, SHE MASTERFULLY COMBINES CRETAN SOUNDS WITH MODERN POP, CREATING A UNI UE MUSICAL IDENTITY. FROM CAREFREE SUMMERS IN PALEOCHORA TO THE MOMENT HER NAME SHONE BRIGHT IN TIMES S UARE, HER OURNEY WAS FULL OF PASSION, PERSISTENCE, AND HARD WORK!

You were one of the big favorites to represent Greece at Eurovision. How did you experience the whole process?

I am very grateful for the whole experience. It was an intense yet beautiful journey. I prepared my song “V le” with lots of love, presented in a way that I am proud of, and felt the people’s support every step of the way. I may not have gotten my “ticket” for Eurovision, but I left with even more inspiration and passion for my next step.

Was there a moment when you thought the “ticket” was yours?

I always say “That’s life”. I was never sure of anything, all I cared about was giving my best. I wanted to present something that was my complete expression, full of sentiment. From then on, it was up to the people to decide. My favorite moment was when the “pendozali” dance started, and Stelios Vamvakas came in with his lyre, and I saw my parents in the audience clapping in pride.

How important is an international competition like Eurovision for your career as an artist?

I think it’s a huge opportunity. It’s a road for people from all over Europe –and not only!– to get to know you, show who you are artistically, and share your culture with millions of people. It’s a party, a celebration, a festival that unites the world and artists with each other. Experiencing such a big event can only benefit an artist, artistically and personally. It was a great honor to participate in the Greek national final and to have the opportunity to perform my song live. It was a unique experience that I will never forget. I love that people get so excited about the songs and the artists involved in the competition. It’s beautiful to see so much dedication and passion. From the audience abroad, all I’ve felt is love.

What moments in your career so far do you consider milestones?

One milestone for me was when I was working as a special education teacher by day and running around New York studios at night, trying to keep up with everything. And then, all of a sudden, I found out that due to cutbacks, they were going to fire all new teachers, and I found myself without a job. It was a job I wouldn’t

EVANGELIA

have dared to leave on my own, but I felt the universe had somehow given me a chance. That’s when I decided to devote myself entirely to music. A few weeks later, I met ay Stolar, who is now my partner in life and music. From the first moment, I felt we shared the same passion for creating. He became my executive producer, and we have been on this journey together ever since. Then I met my manager, Mike Stathakis, and the journey up to the Eurovision national final with Golden Records and Minos EMI, A Universal Music Company, which was pivotal for me. I feel grateful for my team and look forward to continuing building my career with them. Looking back, I feel that everything happened as it should have the universe not only pushed me towards music but also brought the right people into my life. Of course, I should mention one of my most recent and special moments, when Spotify chose me as a global ambassador for their E UAL campaign. It was the first time a Greek woman was chosen for this role, and my joy was immense when I saw my name –my grandmother’s name actually–lighting up Times Square.

Did you know from a young age that you wanted to go into music?

I always sang! I remember myself as a little girl, in the red pickup truck with my family, singing “Yalo Yalo” together. In high school, my number one priority was football, but when I tore my ACL, I found myself spending endless hours at home, unable to move. That’s when I picked up a ukulele and a guitar, started learning from YouTube and writing my own songs. My undergraduate studies, though, were in a completely different field, History and Political Science, and a Master’s in Special Education. For a long time, I thought music would remain a hobby, no matter how big my dreams were. Until life led me to decide to devote myself 100 to music.

How difficult was the beginning? Did you ever think about giving up?

I’m not going to lie, there were tough times. I was working at school by day and in the studios in New York at night, trying to find my voice. When I left my job to devote myself to music, I didn’t know exactly how I would make it, I just thought I would find my way. In the toughest moments, it may have crossed my mind to give up, but my vision proved stronger. Music is a part of me, and I can’t imagine my life without it. Thankfully, I can do exclusively what I love, something I’ve always dreamed of doing.

You combine pop music with Greek traditional influences. Was this something that came naturally, or did you discover it along the way?

I grew up between two worlds, the festivals of Crete and the clubs of New York. My dad was very active in the Pancretan Association of America and our house was always full of musicians he brought in

from Crete. I grew up listening to lyres and “mantinades”, as well as pop, R B, and Latin. These two sides of me blended, and my music became the natural fusion of the two cultures that shaped me.

The music industry is constantly changing. How do you see your place as an artist in today’s music landscape?

Artist independence is more important than ever. In the age of digitalization, I have the opportunity to control my path and connect directly with audiences worldwide. I can create authentically, without restrictions, and build an international community that supports me. In addition, I feel very fortunate to have a strong supportive circle, both with my music partners and my professional team. This connection with people who love my music is the most valuable part of my career.

Do you have a “ritual” before you take the stage?

Yes! I always do some meditation and I am thankful for the moment I’m living in.

You spent your childhood summers in Crete. What is it that you remember most nostalgically?

The nights in Paleochora, dancing until morning, either in clubs or at festivals. And of course, the moments at my grandmother’s farm, feeding the animals, cooking together, and sitting on the balcony talking for endless hours.

As a child, were you a social kid or a more reserved personality?

I was very sociable! I loved singing, dancing, and being with people. From a young age, I loved to express myself through music and dance, full of energy and a desire to have fun.

What’s your relationship with your image?

I believe that beauty comes from how you feel inside. I love natural beauty, and I like to feel good, both inside and out. I also love fashion. It’s a way to express myself and give form to my music and personality through my style.

When you look in your mirror, what do you see?

A person who has worked hard to make it and continues to dream! How would you describe your style on stage and in your everyday life?

On stage, my style combines ancient Greek art with folk tradition. I love striking looks with dramatic silhouettes and statement gold jewelry that give a sense of grandeur. I want to feel like a “modern Greek goddess”.

In my everyday life, I choose comfortable but elegant pieces, with Mediterranean simplicity and timeless finesse. I love earthy colors, airy fabrics, and gold jewelry.

What can we expect from you in the near future?

My first album, and I can’t wait to share it with you! It’s inspired by “Erotocritos”, a love story that overcomes obstacles, trials, and time itself. I combine Greek traditional influences with a modern pop sound, bringing Erotokritos and Aretoussa into the present day, as if they were reborn in another era, with the same hearts but different challenges. The album is about passion, faith, and how sometimes destiny always finds its way.

_HER OWN VOICE

_DONATELLA VERSACE

Η Donatella Francesca Versace

Reggio di Calabria

Francesca,

DONATELLA VERSACE IS MUCH MORE THAN AN INFLUENTIAL FASHION DESIGNER. SHE IS PROOF THAT A WOMAN, WHO HAS THE STRENGTH TO GET UP WHEN SHE FALLS, WHO HONORS HER ROOTS BUT CHOOSES TO LAY HER OWN PATH, CAN REACH GREATNESS! EVEN IF EVERYONE AROUND HER –AT ONE POINT–BELIEVED OTHERWISE...

Donatella Francesca Versace was born on 2 May 1 55 in Reggio di Calabria, Italy. Her father, Antonio, ran the family coal mining business, while her mother, Francesca, was a seamstress before opening her fashion boutique.

Fashion designer, entrepreneur and model, she is the sister of Gianni Versace, founder of the famous fashion house, with whom she worked closely to develop the brand. In 1 , after the tragic murder of her brother, she inherited part of the Versace house, taking on the role of Creative Director - a role she served successfully for 28 years.

Together with Gianni, they are considered pioneers of the 0s supermodel phenomenon, as they chose famous magazine models for their catwalks.

Donatella was not only a creative partner, but also her brother’s muse. For her, as she has said in an interview, her muses are the “strong women all over the world.”

At just 11 years old, Gianni convinced her to dye her hair blonde in honor of his favorite Italian singer, Patty Pravo. Her platinum-blond hair and high, square heels, which she chooses for almost every outfit, are her “trademarks”.

In 1 8, Gianni, Donatella, and their brother, Santo, founded Versace. Four years later, Gianni sent Donatella to the auction for the palazzo at Via Ges 12, Milan. Since then, this has been the headquarters and showroom of Versace.

In 1 8 , Gianni dedicated the new fragrance Blonde to Donatella and entrusted her with the Versus diffusion line, giving her also a yellow diamond ring. This is her favorite gift, as she has said.

Madonna, onathan Rhys Meyers, Demi Moore, Lady Gaga, Beyonc , and many other celebrities have starred in advertising campaigns of Versace, designed by Donatella. Most recently, she collaborated with Anne Hathaway and Cillian Murphy for the campaign Icons, and with Sabrina Carpenter for the house’s sunglasses campaign.

Remember the green dress, also known as the “jungle dress”, that ennifer Lopez wore to the Grammy Awards in 2000 Donatella is its designer. In fact, that dress is the reason Google Images was created! In 201 , the Latina superstar wore that dress again at the Versace Milan Fashion Show.

Donatella and her ex-husband, Paul Beck, have two children, Allegra and Daniel. When the designer was asked what she considers her greatest accomplishment, she replied “My children!”

She has won numerous awards, from the Bambi Award for Fashion in 2004 to the honorary title of “Game Changer” at the 2024 Green Carpet Fashion Awards. A significant moment was in 2023, when she was awarded the Humanitarian Equality and Inclusion Award at the Sustainable Fashion Awards of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italia’s.

Donatella is also known for her charity work. Through fashion shows, she has supported the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund, women’s cancer research projects, the Hospital San Raffaele in Milan, while she is a patron of the Elton ohn AIDS Foundation.

She made a cameo appearance in the movie “ oolander”, her name is occasionally mentioned in the movie “The Devil Wears Prada”, and the song “Donatella”, on Lady Gaga’s album “Artpop”, was written for her.

Her last show as Creative Director of Versace was presented at Milan Fashion Week on February 28, 2025 and was praised by fashion experts.“With this collection, I don’t follow rules. Only the rules of Versace’s DNA,” she wrote on her Instagram account, proving that she never obeyed any rules.

On March 13, 2025, Donatella announced her resignation as Creative Director of Versace and the role was taken over by the talented Dario Vitale. In two emotional posts, she wrote “It has been the greatest honor of my life to carry on my brother Gianni’s legacy. He was the true genius, but I hope I have some of his spirit and tenacity. In my new role as Chief Brand Ambassador, I will remain Versace’s most passionate supporter. Versace is in my DNA and always in my heart,” and, referring to her brother Gianni, “I hope I’ve made you proud so far”.

THE _ FRAMING SUCCESS

HPhotography was not your original profession. How did it come into your life and what was the thing that made you want to get specifically into fashion photography?

Photography has been my hobby since I was a little boy. As a profession, it came into my life by accident. I always liked capturing shots with people. Fashion was also something I was interested in. I used to look at magazines, models, clothes, hair, makeup. Later, I started photographing some friends –men and women– and gradually these photos ended up in agencies. In this way, I got into the fashion industry and made my hobby my profession.

Apart from photography, you participated in successful T projects such as GNT and, then, y Style Rocks. How do you feel now about these T projects? Would you return? TV left a mixed, bittersweet taste. Bitter, as it takes a lot of time. Especially on one particular project, I didn’t get to see my kids as much as I would have liked, and it cost me dearly. Sweet, as everything I did was an extension of my profession. Would I go back That depends. If I would be interested in something or if it would be something of my own aesthetic, then yes.

You’ve mentioned that you preferred to stay in Greece and raise a family rather than pursue an international career. Do you think the values your family passed on to you played a role in this decision?

I grew up in a typical loving Greek family, with lots of hugs, lots of love, and lots of affection. It was something I wanted to have in my life. If I had chosen an international career, I would have missed, for example, my children’s first steps. When you work abroad, you have to be abroad. I chose Greece and my family. And I never regretted it.

As a father of two girls, how has fatherhood affected your professional life? Has your perspective on fashion changed due to your role as a father?

My perspective on fashion hasn’t changed. Parenthood hasn’t changed my aesthetic or the way I work. During photoshoots, everyone knows I have always been very kind to models. I was always careful, spoke well, and never insulted anyone. My character has remained the same, it’s just that schedules are tight, and you have to find the right balance, which I managed to do, although with a lot of difficulty.

Both on the photo set and in the T environment, you are constantly interacting with new people. Which collaboration has stood out the most and why?

I have worked with thousands of people. I’ve seen thousands of models and hundreds of stylists, make-up artists, hairdressers, and photographers. That’s the beauty of the profession, you never get bored. Every day is different. As for the collaborations that I have singled out, the truth is that there is not only one. It’s all collaborative. I mean, if the team works well and

there’s a good mood, we all have a good time. That’s what I make sure I do as a photographer.

s there something else that can create a successful partnership?

The experience of the model also plays a role. How much they help the photographer to get the right result. If the model can’t provide that, there are difficulties. But, that’s why we are there, to help them, to get the result needed. Bottom line, there is no excuse. The reader or the viewer who will see the photo doesn’t know the conditions under which we worked.

How do you see the evolution of fashion photography both in Greece and internationally?

Very difficult. Fashion has changed. Everything has become fast. Every week, fashion changes, trends change, just to make people keep buying clothes. Also, social media has played a crucial role in fashion. And not for the better. Essentially, what everyone wants now is a lot of photos, so they can upload them to social media and the internet. And, lots of times, that “fast” is what keeps you from being as creative and effective in your work.

How do you deal with this?

I am trying to set the conditions under which I will work. On jobs where the client has excessive demands, just because they want a huge amount of work in a short amount of time, I refuse to do it. I say “no” a lot. That would result in my work not being what it should be. When people see a photo, they see my name on it. I don’t want to risk my name for anything.

So you set your own limits... Exactly! I don’t make any sacrifices on quality for the sake of quantity. I make sure to have some balance, so that I can do my job decently and the client gets the result they need.

A WINNER OF THE GREEK ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS IN THE 100-METRE EVENT, A MEMBER OF THE GREEK NATIONAL 4 100-METRE RELAY TEAM AND NASOS GHAVELAS GUIDE AT THE PARIS 2024 PARALYMPIC GAMES, GIANNIS NYFANTOPOULOS PERSONIFIES DETERMINATION AND PERSEVERANCE, WITH AN EYE ALWAYS ON THE PRI E.

As he’s getting ready for the European Athletics Team Championships which will be held in Madrid, the Balkan Championships which after many years will be held in Greece in the city of Volos, the World Indoor Championships which will be held in China and the Para Athletics Grand Prix which will be held in India in which he will participate as Nasos Ghavelas guide, Giannis Nyfantopoulos reflects on his early years and tells us how he defines success in athletics.

You got involved in athletics thanks to the persistence of the coach you had in school. How important is the role of a trainer whose job, among other things, is to identify an athlete’s inclination towards a particular sport?

A trainer plays a very important role not only in distinguishing a young person’s talent but also in keeping them interested in sports. Athletics is a very difficult and solitary sport. It’s not known for its playful or lively nature, which is why many children lose interest in it. But a good trainer will find those elements that are needed to keep a young person interested in athletics. What was that kept you interested in athletics?

Apart from my trainer, what intrigued me was that whatever I accomplished, I accomplished on my own –I ran by myself, I won by myself, I trained hard by myself. Everything I did, I did on my own. Thankfully, success came early on in my career and this success “fueled” my drive.

When you were a teenager, you were involved in two car accidents. One, in fact, confined you to bed for seven months, while doctors told you that you would not be able to play sports again. How did you overcome this?

It was definitely a shock. The most difficult thing for me was that in that accident I lost the person who introduced me to the world of athletics. My family was always by my side and supported me during this very difficult period. At the same time, athletics was key for my psychological and mental rehabilitation. I learned to turn the bad memories into a drive that helped me move forward. It was hard because I was young, but it also helped me develop my character. It was very difficult because the accident happened on a day that you don’t forget easily –14 February. For years, I felt uncomfortable on Valentine’s Day …

Despite the difficulties, you managed to be a top ranking athlete in your event for more than ten years. What does an athlete need to remain at the top for such a long time?

In professional sports, we have to be a little lucky and we need to be surrounded by people who support us –on both a professional and personal level. I have been fortunate all these years to work with people who have given me a lot and have taken care of me. In fact, they have been the same people, which is something that gives me stability and a sense of security. You also have to love what you do. No one devotes three, four or five hours a day to training simply out of a sense of obligation –especially under conditions like those under which we are called to train in Greece, where the lack of facilities is a detrimental factor. Athletics is hard and unforgiving. There will be difficult years, and you have to put any failures or poor results behind you so that you can take the next step. Personally, I am a person who never gives up. I have always had the drive to never give up.

And you managed to clinch the top spot on the podium winning gold at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games as Nasos Ghavelas guide.

It was my first experience as a guide runner. I decided that I was going to treat the race like any of my other races, both mentally and practically. Thankfully, I had very good chemistry with both Nasos and our trainer, Nestoras Kolovos. Nasos and I quickly developed a strong connection, and this helped us work methodically and effectively. Of course, being a guide runner for a Paralympic gold medalist and back-to-back contender for the gold medal is a huge responsibility, but thankfully everything worked out well.

The race was demanding and very close, a thrilling race to say the least. But, when you push your limits and you get the result you want, the satisfaction you receive is even greater. You began 202 with another gold medal at the World Para Athletics in Dubai despite the problem that you faced in the beginning with the starting blocks …

Unfortunately, these things happen. On an organisational level, the race did not meet the standards of an international competition. When we made our way out onto the track, the starting blocks had not been placed yet. I had to place them myself, then help Nasos get into position and finally find my spot on the track. Because of this delay, we did not have time to do a test run. When

If I were speaking to my younger self, I would tell him that it is worth chasing something that you love. Success is not just about winning medals, it is the journey you take.

the starting blocks slipped and we started to fall, I managed to keep calm. From the moment we didn’t fall, I knew we would finish. You mentioned earlier about the lack of sports facilities in Greece. Was that one of the rea sons why you decided to get in volved in politics in your home town of Preve a?

Personally, I think it is unacceptable that the sports facilities in Greece –the country that gave birth to the Olympic ideal– are in such poor condition. Even though exorbitant amounts of money were spent in 2004 on the Athens Olympic Games, today the stadiums remain abandoned and unexploited. The athletes themselves, together with their trainers and certain sports feder ations, through personal efforts, try to secure funding and organ ise training sessions in facilities abroad where they can work and train safely without any problems. I have always been concerned with public affairs, mostly matters concerning local government because I don’t have political ambitions. I decided to take part in this process because I love the town I grew up in and I wanted to give back to athletics, a field that I have served for so many years.

I don’t know if I will get involved in local politics again in the fu ture, but I will always be close to people who want to promote athletics in my hometown.

What advice would you give to a young person who dreams of excelling in the sport of choice?

I don’t know if I’m the best person to give advice, especially to young people. If I were speaking to my younger self, I would tell him that it is worth chasing something that you love. Success is not just about winning medals, it is the journey you take. Through athletics, you can win a lot more than distinctions, and when the time comes to say goodbye’ it is important that you feel that you have enjoyed the journey you took. So, my advice would be to appreciate every moment because, in athletics, the years don’t come back –unfortunate ly, they have an expiry date.

4They are in competition with you – They constantly try to outshine or undermine you.

5They are unavailable when you need it – They rely on you but are absent when you need support.

6They do not wish you well –They appear supportive but downplay your success.

7They are constantly asking for favors but will not do anything for you – The friendship often feels one-sided.

_ YOUR SKIN, BUT BETTER

If there is one thing that has defined the beauty trends of recent years, it is the desire for healthy and glowing skin. Those days when matte foundations and heavy powders extravagantly covered every detail of your skin now belong to the past. Nowadays, we pay attention to skin needs and adapt our skincare routine and makeup to practices that enhance it. The trends aiming at obtaining a healthy glow are becoming the forefront, forever changing the standards in the beauty industry.

GLASS, GLA ED DONUT PORCELAIN SKIN

Based on the desire for glamour, dozens of trends inevitably started emerging, with one common goal enhancing the skin. Glass Skin, the most viral so far, has its roots in Korean beauty techniques and follows a detailed skincare routine with an emphasis on multi-step processes, including cleansing, stimulating, moisturizing, and the use of special products such as ampoules and essences. The Glazed Donut Skin has evolved based on this trend, inspired by Hailey Bieber, emphasizing a subtle, glowing finish, a reference to the glaze of our favorite donuts. Similarly, Porcelain Skin, inspired by Pat McGrath’s makeup in Maison Margiela’s Haute Couture Artisanal collection, seeks a sense of subtlety and ethereal purity, creating an effect reminiscent of classic porcelain dolls.

THE NEW ERA OF COSMETIC PLASTIC SURGERY UNDETECTABLE INTERVENTIONS FOR NATURAL RE UVENATION

Cosmetic plastic surgery is evolving, following the modern trend of improving appearance, without excesses and, above all, without visible signs. Thus, undetectable interventions are gaining ground, offering rejuvenation, with minimal recovery time and perfectly natural results.

The

power of non invasive cosmetic medicine

Non-invasive facial rejuvenation is based on the careful use of injectable materials and technologies that activate the natural regeneration of the skin.

Botox reduces expression wrinkles on the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet wrinkles, giving a relaxed and youthful look. However, the secret is not in the large quantity, but in the individualized dosage and the correct application.

Hyaluronic acid soothes wrinkles, improves facial contours, and enhances lip volume. Choosing the right hyaluronic highlights facial features, and with the right application technique, it enhances facial features without altering the expression.

Bio-stimulants such as polylactic acid, calcium hydroxyapatite, and polynucleotides activate collagen production, improving long-term skin texture and elasticity.

Technology at the service of beauty

The CO2 fractional laser improves skin texture, erases fine wrinkles, and reduces scars, while radiofrequency RF stimulates collagen production, giving firmness and elasticity.

Ultrasound Ultherapy lifts and tightens the face, especially in the contour and neck, without incisions or recovery needed. Microneedling in combination with exosomes is an innovative treatment, which aims to rejuvenate and reconstruct the skin, correcting fine lines, discolorations, and scars.

Bio-rejuvenating treatments, such as mesotherapy with ami-

no acids and hyaluronic acid, provide hydration and radiance, while autologous PRP mesotherapy harnesses blood growth factors to regenerate the skin.

inimally invasive techni ues for a natural result

For those who want more permanent changes, minimally invasive techniques offer excellent results with a short recovery time.

Plastic surgery on the nose tip corrects small imperfections without affecting the overall structure of the nose and without giving away that surgery was made.

Vaser liposuction is applied to areas such as the abdomen, knees, and double chin, removing local fat while maintaining skin elasticity.

The eyelid plastic surgery gives a relaxed look without changing facial expression.

The otoplasty for floppy ears permanently corrects the shape of the ears, improving the overall appearance of the face.

The Threads Lifts lift the skin on the contours of the face and neck, without the need for general anesthesia.

The new era of cosmetic plastic surgery has arrived and promises renewal respecting naturalness. If you’re looking for a solution to rejuvenate you, without any visible cosmetic intervention, the options are more than ever, as long as you trust an experienced plastic surgeon to guide you properly.

Egg Freezing: The Smart Choice for Your Future!

MOTHERHOOD IS A CONSCIOUS CHOICE AND AN UNDENIABLE RIGHT FOR EVERY WOMAN. HOWEVER, FERTILITY HAS ITS TIME LIMITS. EGG FREE ING OFFERS A SOLUTION.

What is egg free ing?

It is an innovative and advanced technique that allows women to “freeze” time, preventing further age-related decline in their egg quality and quantity, as both decrease after the age of 35. Now, they have the freedom to choose when to become mothers.

The process is relatively simple. Over a period of 10 to 14 days, a woman undergoes hormonal treatment to stimulate the maturation of multiple eggs. The development of the eggs is monitored via ultrasound and blood tests, and the egg retrieval procedure itself takes only a few minutes. A sufficient number of eggs for freezing is considered to be around 10-12. After the procedure, the woman can resume her daily activities. Eggs are cryopreserved in the laboratory using the vitrification method, allowing them to remain stored for years without compromising their quality. When the woman decides to conceive, the eggs are thawed and fertilized in the laboratory with sperm from either a partner or a donor.

How effective is this method?

Studies conducted since the establishment of egg vit

EVANGELOS BABAS MD, PHD

Obstetrician - Gynecologist, Fertility Specialist

rification confirm that the quality of frozen eggs, their fertilization potential, and pregnancy rates are comparable to those of fresh eggs. The survival rate of frozen eggs exceeds 0 .

Until what age can free e my eggs?

Although there are no strict international guidelines, specialists advise that egg freezing is most effective when done earlier in life, ideally before 35. Why free e my eggs if ’m not sure ’ll use them?

Think of egg freezing as “life insurance” you hope you won’t need it, but – if the time comes – it can be life-changing. Many women never use their frozen eggs because they conceive naturally, which is the ideal outcome. However, for those who face fertility challenges later, having frozen eggs provides a valuable opportunity to become mothers. Which women benefit from egg free ing?

Women with a family history of premature ovarian failure or early menopause.

Women who wish to postpone motherhood due to career, education, or personal reasons.

Women diagnosed with cancer, who will undergo chemotherapy or radiotherapy, which may compromise their fertility.

Today, science provides the answer to these challenges, empowering young women with the freedom to choose the right time for motherhood. Egg freezing is no longer just a medical necessity-it is a personal choice. A choice made possible by the expert team at Assisting Nature, whose expertise ensures the highest standards of care.

This choice is now in your hands!

One of the most common problems children face in spring are allergies. Symptoms include runny or stuffy nose, itching, watery eyes and coughing. To help prevent the appearance of allergies, keep your windows and doors closed in order to keep dust and pollen from entering your house.

_INSECT BITES

Spring is the season when many insects make their appearance. Provided the weather permits, choose long-sleeved shirts that will protect your children from insect bites. Also, always carry a small bottle of ammonia solution with you and say goodbye’ to itching!

_SUN PROTECTION

Sunscreen is not synonymous only with the summer months when the sun is usually at its cruelest. We have to learn to use sunscreen daily throughout the year. Make sure you apply sunscreen every time your child is exposed to the sun’s harmful UV rays.

What children need more than anything else is emotional connection; to feel safe and trusting.

izi has become the children’s favorite, mostly because she makes them laugh with her gluttony and humor. She takes them on a charming journey through time, to unknown stories of people of Thessaloniki, palaces and castles, legends that come to life once again! The excellent designs of the architect Sakis Georgiadis help a lot. The educational community welcomes izi with similar enthusiasm. The book is also presented in a separate presentation at the 10th Panhellenic Conference Education and Culture in the 21st Century , which will take place in April 2025 in Athens, at the Hill School, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education. The translations of the book, embedded with R code on the back cover, make it accessible to an international readership. The book was translated into English by Konstantina Maridaki and into French by Ludovic Bussard. I always leave the schools I visit with drawings and chocolates from the children! In one school, a kid told me the book only had girl heroines and asked me to include a... boy fly in the next one! Overall, I’m grateful for the interaction with the kids and colleagues!

Among many other training programs, you have attended a training course on the Pedagogical Approach of Reggio Emilia. What are its basic principles and benefits for children?

The Reggio Emilia Pedagogical Approach is an innovative and human-oriented educational model, based on the fundamental belief that children are co-creators of knowledge and teachers are the fellow travelers. In short, Reggio’s core values are the school environment, the architecture and pedagogical arrangement of space, the collegiality in the educational process, the One Hundred Languages of Children –i.e. the multimodal expression of children through art, music, theatre, storytelling, movement, and more– and the recording of learning processes by teachers. The benefits of this approach

for children include developing independence and initiative, fostering creativity and imagination, enhancing critical thinking and problem solving, encouraging collaboration and social interaction, and creating a deeper and more experiential relationship to knowledge.

Nowadays, we are facing a new, virtual reality, where A is winning over human creation. How can we educate the new generations not to lose their imagination and creativity?

Imagination is a basic learning skill, cultivated and developed through activities like reading literature, storytelling, drama, constructions with simple materials, etc. On the other hand, we can use AI in a way that enhances our creativity. For example, in painting, we can create a drawing and then use AI to explore variations. In writing, we can ask children to create their own stories and then see how AI can extend them by comparing and analyzing the results. Artificial Intelligence can become a tool for creative exploration if we train new generations to use it in a way that enhances –not replaces– the uniquely human capacity of creation.

As an educator, what is the parenting advice you would give to parents today?

Our world is very loud and complex, with a storm of information and stimuli that confuse children and teenagers. Given these circumstances, what children need more than anything else is emotional connection to feel safe and trusting, knowing that someone will listen to them without judgment and hasty conclusions. This meaningful listening teaches them that their thoughts and feelings have value, which can become a foundation for healthy self-esteem and independence. Do you have another piece of writing in the works?

I am currently writing my next book and it’s about the continuation of izi’s adventures, this time in Athens! In fact, in this book I’m thinking of including a boy character –a boy fly, as I mentioned above. I can’t say for sure when it will be available in bookstores, but I promise I’ll try to finish it as soon as possible!

Man 3, Sweet November, The Shipping News, The Hurricane... Big Hollywood projects,

KOSTAS CHRISTIDES HAS MADE HIS PRESENCE KNOWN IN HOLLYWOOD, COMPOSING THE SCORE FOR DO ENS OF FILM PRO ECTS. DESPITE HIS SUCCESS, HE SAYS HE REMAINS A “THESSALONIAN” IN HIS SOUL. THESE DAYS, IN ADDITION TO HIS CINEMATIC WORK, HE SHARES HIS KNOWLEDGE THROUGH FILM MUSIC SEMINARS, NURTURING THE NEW GENERATION OF FILMMAKERS...

What do you miss most about life in Thessaloniki?

Apart from my family, I miss the immediacy in communication, accessibility, and spontaneity. Although I have been living in Los Angeles for many years, all my Greek friends still call me “Thessalonian”. I still eat Greek food, watch Greek TV and football games, and in recent years I have managed to split my time between Los Angeles and Thessaloniki. You have worked alongside important composers such as Christopher Young. How did this collaboration define you? Christopher was my professor at USC. I was very fortunate to work alongside with him since 1 8, at the pick of his career. It was a great “school”! We worked together on great films –and we still do– like Spider-Man 3, Sweet November, The Shipping News, The Hurricane... Major Hollywood projects, in which I learned what to do and what to avoid.

The biggest lesson I learned is how to approach the scenes musically. I realized that my goal is not to showcase my music but to showcase the essence of the film. In this job, you have to leave your ego behind, be cooperative, listen, meet the deadlines, and at the same time put your artistic signature.

You’ve mentioned that your inspiration comes from the image, rather than the script...

It’s like the saying “the book was much better than the movie”. When we read something, there are no artistic or badget boundaries. When we watch a movie, we see it from someone else’s perspective. As composers, we must adapt the music to that perspective as well. So, the art of film scoring is writing the right music for a film created from someone else’s vision in a limited time.

How do you manage to turn these visual impressions into musical ideas?

The beginning of a project is half the battle. It’ s always helpful if the director has a clear vision on the music, but non the less we brainstorm together and exchange ideas constantly. When

I first watched the movie, I record anything that comes to my mind. That can be a melodic or a rhythmical idea. These first ideas can be very helpful gems for the process down the line. Then, I do my research and experiment to find the “sound” of the score. That can be an orchestra, electronic sounds, or something “weirder What definitely doesn’t happen –and what many people think– is that I go to a green meadow for hours until inspiration strikes! laughs

You have also scored Greek productions, most recently aestro, while your collaboration with Christoforos Papakaliatis counts two more films. What is the common feature that gave birth to so many successful collaborations between you?

What we share is the passion for film music and especially for orchestral scores. Christoforos is also a director with whom I have a great communication. We talk constantly, he suggests changes... I really appreciate that. But I won’t hide that we often have epic battles! If someone would hear us, they would think we’d never speak again. However, we “argue” creatively. usic plays an important role in his films and series... We all know that Christophoros is in love with music. Even from his old series, not only did he use great songs but he also used music from American movies, which was unusual in Greece at the time. Sometimes, I tease him a bit “How many more songs are you going to include again ” And he replies “People want Papakaliatis’ jukebox!” laughs

Having worked on both Hollywood and Greek productions, how does the perception of soundtracks differ in these two markets?

In Greece, only a few producers pay attention to soundtracks, it is understood as a “necessary evil”. The whole process requires time, knowledge, and expensive equipment, and it should be rewarded accordingly. The key difference, however, is methodology. Often, the composer in a Greek production is a songwriter, who writes songs without lyrics, with the picture which is essential for a successful soundtrack. These tracks are sent to the film editor to adjust them to the picture. This creates problems music cannot follow the scenes developing, nor can it evolve alongside the film story. Fortunately, the new generation of film composers in Greece is getting closer to the way a soundtrack is

composed nowadays, which is music is composed and synced to the edited picture.

What do you think about the future of Greek cinema?

I am optimistic! During the last 15 years, I have seen movies with subjects that go beyond the Greek borders and have a more international character. At the same time, shooting global productions in Greece has become more and more frequent, offering technological experience to crews and providing financial resources that can be invested back in Greek films and TV series. I believe that in the coming years, we will have a strong identity on a global level. Giorgos Lanthimos’ career set the pathway to this goal, as well as Maestro did on Netflix, which introduced Greek film making to many viewers worldwide.

Tell us more about the Film usic Seminars…

It started in 201 , when I was invited by the music teacher Maria Tzivanoglou to speak to a class. One class became two, then three, and then the whole school. That’s when I knew I had to create a full presentation. I developed a three-hour audiovisual show for middle and high school students. In this workshop, we are not only talking about film music, but we “visit” sound effects, script, etc. The whole thing takes place in the VMA theater at Village Cinemas in Mediterranean Cosmos, the best place to experience sounds and images in their natural environment. Our aim is not to create tomorrow’s film music composers, but to show that there are many different professions and opportunities not limited within Greek borders. If just one child comes out of the workshop and takes up a profession that piqued their interest, we’ve achieved our goal.

For me, it’s probably the best thing I’ve ever done. I love my job, but I enjoy the seminars immensely.

FROM 3* ATELIER IN MUNICH TO ALCHEMIST IN COPENHAGEN AND FROM THERE TO BORAGO IN SANTIAGO, CHILE, AND ERNST IN BERLIN, DIMITRIOS MOUDIOS HAS DEVELOPED HIS CULINARY IDENTITY IN SOME OF THE MOST ICONIC HAUTE CUISINE RESTAURANTS OF THE WORLD.

Today, Dimitrios Moudios is the man behind three gastronomic concepts in Thailand –the counter restaurant ōre, the seafood restaurant Mitsos and the tea room Gaiwan of Tea by ōre. Within less than a year of opening its doors, ōre received the Opening of The Year award at the 2025 Michelin Guide ceremony that was held in Thailand, as well as three awards –Best New Concept, Best New Restaurant and The TOP 100 Restaurants in Bangkok– from BK Magazine’s Top Tables 2024, while Dimitrios Moudios was personally named BEST CHEF 2024. And this the recipe for his success …

You have travelled to and worked on every continent of the world, apart from Africa. How have these different experiences influenced your culinary style?

The dishes I prepare at ōre are a combination of the experiences I gained in the countries where I lived and worked. I believe that someone who is gastronomically “trained” in different cuisines can recognise the influences these cuisines have on the dishes i prepare.

You have said in the past that becoming a chef was pure happenstance. How did this “courtship” evolve into an … enduring relationship?

It’s true. In the beginning, cooking was not something that I was interested in. But, about three years down the road, I realised how much I liked it. I began to see it more seriously, to travel and to explore new flavours. Generally in my life, whatever I’m involved

People who visit Greece want to try reek dishes

in, I try to do it right because I invest time in it. Since I live abroad by myself, without my family, I want to make sure that I don’t fiddle about.

Do you believe that your travels have contributed more to your development as a chef than your culinary studies?

Definitely! I studied cooking in Germany, where the educational system is very different to that in Greece. In Germany, students go to culinary school once a week and work in a restaurant four times a week. So, students learn through a real-life, hands-on approach. In most countries, students learn to cook only at school and are frustrated when they enter the job market because the difference is overwhelming to them. This is why I believe that the German system is more effective.

At just 30 years old, you are the head chef of three successful gastronomic concepts in Thailand and last year you were recognised as THE BEST CHEF 2024. What is your recipe for success?

In Thailand, there is a lot of competition in the catering sector, because new restaurants open every week. I believe the fact that we offer something unique makes us stand out above the rest.

Õre is a counter restaurant, with just six seats. When our customers look for an experience like the one we offer, they do not have many options to choose from. Moreover, our team is made up of people from Poland, Germany and Colombia with whom I worked closely together in the past. This eases the flow of our work and enables us to work smoothly, which is something our customers appreciate.

Returning to Greece, what do you believe is the biggest advantage of Greek gastronomy and what is the biggest challenge that it faces today?

One of the biggest advantages that Greek gastronomy has over other cuisines is its rich history. People who visit Greece want to try Greek dishes, while the quality of our ingredients –particularly during summer– is unparalleled. Over the past few years, particularly in Athens, more and more restaurants that serve authentic Greek cuisine are opening up, some of which in fact have gained international recognition. Greek cuisine, however, is not represented very well outside Greece’s borders. For example, in Germany, the most well-known Greek dish is Gyro and grilled Calamari, which is something that does not represent authentic Greek cuisine. I hope the emergence of Greek gastronomy in Greece will also lead to the creation of better Greek restaurants abroad.

Last year, your hometown –Thessaloniki– was included in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, in the creative field of Gastronomy. How do you see the change in the city’s gastronomic landscape when you visit it?

During my last visit –in May– I noticed that quite a few new restaurants have opened. However, I believe that opening a gastronomic restaurant in Thessaloniki is a lot more difficult than opening one in Athens. During the economic crisis, from 2008 to 2012, it was very difficult for new restaurants, because people didn’t have money to spend. I believe that gradually we are going to see more and more new restaurants, because Greece’s economy seems to be improving.

Last year was the first time you cooked in Greece, during a Fire Night that was organised by Pharaoh in Athens. What did you gain from this experience and what feedback did you receive? It was a great experience! I already knew the people at Pharaoh

FIG STUFFED WITH CORIANDER SEEDS, CAKE AND CREAM FROM FIG LEAF, BRULEEED, FIG WOOD ICE CREAM

COURSE, TORCH GINGER FLOWERS, CARAMELISED NUTS

and that made things easier. We prepared Thai dishes and served 200 persons. It was a challenge, but the feedback was very positive. The people who tried our dishes were already in good spirits and it seemed that they liked the end result.

Are you thinking about returning to Greece in the future?

I think that I would like to open a Thai restaurant in Greece in the future, but it isn’t in my immediate plans. I have noticed that the quality of life in Thailand is a lot better than in European countries. The only thing I don’t like is the weather. It is very difficult to work in 40-degree temperatures, 12 months out of the year.

What is the mark you want to leave on culinary creativity?

I want my restaurant to be a reflection of my personal aesthetics and to see it as the best restaurant in the world. That’s my goal. I try to avoid the trends and create something unique and personal. This is why when I am away from ōre, the restaurant doesn’t function. I have this restaurant in Thailand and I want to see it succeed, but primarily I want it to be as I have dreamed it. I believe that being unique is the key to standing out, and this applies to any sector. In just one year, we have accomplished a lot. I think that our devotion and the passion that we put into what we are doing is transmitted to our customers, and when we enjoy what we do this is reflected on our customers’ experience.

I believe that uniqueness is the key to standing out, in any field.
