As we move into the second half of the year, energy across the business community remains strong — and at County Kildare Chamber, we continue to work on your behalf to ensure that Kildare remains a vibrant, well-connected and future-facing place to live, work and do business.
We’re looking forward to bringing members together at two key events this summer: our Summer Social in June at the Curragh Racecourse and the always-popular Golf Classic at the K Club. These events are more than just social highlights — they’re opportunities to strengthen networks, celebrate collaboration and showcase what’s possible when business and community come together.
At a strategic level, we’re focused on deepening international links for our members — especially for businesses looking to explore new markets. From our developing partnership in Boston to our participation in the Chambers Ireland delegation to Scotland, we’re laying the groundwork for trade, innovation and investment opportunities that will benefit Kildare businesses.
Advocacy also remains central to our work. As we begin preparations for our Budget 2026 submission, we are engaging with members to understand the challenges and opportunities shaping your business today. Your voice is vital in this process — and we’re committed to ensuring

with Marika Lindstrom of KDP Ireland
Keurig Dr Pepper’s Newbridge site last year announced investment to achieve a carbon-neutral certification over the next year— a huge milestone. Can you tell us about the journey to get there and what that means in real terms for operations?
This was a natural journey for us contributing to KDP’s climate commitments to obtain 100% of electricity from renewable sources and reduce Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 30%. The Newbridge site sources electricity from renewable sources, and with the investment, we are planning to electrify heat through the installation of the latest technology in heat pumps and implement several energy savings initiatives. The investment is sizeable €6.44 million and has required meticulous design and planning with expert partners. This investment is really exciting for the site and our staff because it helps deliver on KDPs purpose to Drink Well Do Good. Through meticulous planning and using the latest technology available, we don’t envisage disruptions to our standard operations.
What advice would you give to other manufacturers in Kildare looking to follow a similar sustainability path?
My advice would be to take time and pick the right partner to design, plan and implement the project. The technology in this
space is relatively new and constantly evolving. We could not have made the investment without the help of the IDA, as their expertise and investment has been hugely beneficial.
As part of our employee engagement, we organize events to support local charities. Annual events include events like bake sale and winter swim, supporting organizations such as KARE and St Mark’s School.
It is important to be part of the Newbridge community and connect employees to local charities and causes as well.
KDP Ireland wants to play an active role in developing infrastructure in the Business Park. We are a growing business and our employees require support services that the park could offer. We would also be interested in collaborating with other Park tenants around shared interests such as parks, Greenfields, sustainability (incl. recycling drop stations) and safety,
Employee transportation would be an area of interest for us to explore, together with food and health services for the Park.
As a growing business, we are continuously looking for new talent in Procurement, Operations and Finance. It would be ideal to find candidates in co Kildare and Newbridge area to minimize commuting and encourage collaboration in the office. Distance to more metropolitan areas can mean that our talent pool is smaller. We will continue to collaborate with local schools to cultivate local talent.
KDP Ireland, as a growing multi-national business, is well positioned to offer a lot of development and career opportunities to employees, including international assignments. Employee benefits and engagement opportunities are also best in class. The culture is very entrepreneurial and energetic, we are challengers within the industry with a lot of drive, collaboration and sense of community. KDP has strong values and a company purpose with efforts that seek to do good for the environment and society. These values resonate with employees coming from multiple countries and different cultures.
I have been with KDP Ireland now for 8 months as CPO and SVP Beverage Concentrate Operations, and I have found it very easy to come into the organization, network and contribute. People are open to new ideas, there is a can-do attitude and lot of excitement about the future of the business and the industry. Our Ireland operations are in a key position to enable the future growth and contribute to the overall success of the enterprise.
Ad Vantage Media (AVM) is a small independently owned media agency based in Leixlip, Co. Kildare since 2009.
Globally the advertising landscape is constantly changing and evolving and Ireland is no exception.
In our sixteen years, we have seen huge changes in Irish media and how it’s consumed, driven by mobile ownership and the rise of social media. AI is the latest disrupter. It has huge potential but also needs to be viewed with caution.
SO, ITS ALL CHANGE THEN?
It is to a point, but the principles of advertising remain the same. Our role is to deliver the best advertising solutions, tailored to meet our client’s business needs and the best possible return on their investment. As you can imagine our plans are very different from those of 5, 10 or 15 years ago. However, the objectives remain the same.
Why are we different?
Our clients are mostly indigenous Irish businesses who rely on us to have a complete understanding of their needs.
When you combine this with our marketing knowledge and experience, we deliver practical, intelligent and innovative solutions that get results. Our biggest point of difference; we are built to look after local small and medium size businesses, who often struggle to get the service they need from bigger agencies. As advertising gets more complex, we have seen firsthand how important expertise is, but how that can feel out of reach for Irelands SME sector. We are proud to work alongside other independent marketing agencies in Kildare who are relentless in pursuit of the excellence Irish SMEs deserve.
The AVM Approach
At AVM we have a dedicated team of professionals boasting over 80 years of collective experience. We deliver campaigns across all advertising channels including TV, Radio, Digital, Print and Out of Home.
Our portfolio of 35+ clients include Weir & Sons, Cars Ireland, Irish Heart Foundation, Bewley’s, Fit Foods, Dromoland Castle and the MHL Hotel group alongside international brands John West, Harper Collins and Rolex.
This reflects our ability to build lasting relationships and deliver value.
Meet the Team
At the heart of AVM’s success is its exceptional team.
Elaine Mooney, our Managing Director, has been with the company for 16 years and has served as Managing Director for the past two years. During this time, she has led the company through significant transformation, successfully navigating major changes and building a team that has driven remarkable success.
Gerry Lennon, Trading Director with experience spanning over 40 years in the media industry. He has held several key positions, including Commercial Manager and Managing Director of the Irish Daily Star newspaper and the Sunday World, as well as Group Commercial Director at MediaHuis Ireland
Jill Robinson, Business Director, brings over 20 years of experience in media, tech and team leadership across Europe. She has worked in Twitter, in global agency Group M and in auditing advertising effectiveness with Ebiquity Marsh.
Rachael McCall, Senior Media Planner, has a BA in Digital Media and 7 years of media planning experience. Rachael is a media strategist who specialises in planning campaigns across a diverse portfolio of clients.
Aline Mello Flynn, Account Manager, has 9 years of marketing experience, including roles at Google and TikTok. Her expertise spans e-commerce, brand building and data analysis, enabling her to execute campaigns that achieve their objectives.
The range of services we offer, depending on an advertiser’s requirements, may include;
• Media Research
• Media Strategy
• Campaign Planning
• Media Buying
• Digital (Display, Social, PPC, Video, SEO)
• Social Media Management
• Sponsorships
• Media promotions and partnerships
• Media and Marketing Consultancy
But our specialty is designing a comprehensive advertising plan, focused on reaching our clients’ target audience at the right time and place and negotiating the best possible placement and price for their ads.
The Power of Independence
Independent agencies like AVM are the industry’s unsung heroes. We may not be on the power lists or the speed dial of big multinationals, but we are the ones delivering work that truly matters; helping local businesses thrive.
We are driven by a passion for advertising and brand building, obsessing over the details and refining our edge.
Culture is at the heart of most independent agencies and AVM is no different
We hire with care. Not just for capability but for chemistry. We have a close-knit team where people believe in the mission. This strong culture translates into a deep respect for our clients. We go the extra mile and take enormous pride in our work and our results.

In a world where so many businesses come and go, reaching 25 years in operation is a testament not just to longevity—but to something far more meaningful. For Punctual Print, this milestone stands as proof of a legacy built on hard work, quiet determination, relentless focus on quality, and a deep-rooted belief in doing things right. Bernard Moran embodies that ethos—steady, solutions-focused, and deeply committed to the craft. Alongside him, Sonia Moran has become an ambassador for that spirit—known for building lasting client relationships grounded in trust, attention, and professionalism.
From its beginnings in 1999, Punctual Print has stayed true to its roots while adapting to the ever-changing landscape of business communication. Based in Blessington, Co. Wicklow, the company began as a small, family-run print provider serving local businesses with dependable, no-fuss service. What distinguished them then—attention to detail, personal relationships, and a commitment to getting the job done right— remains at the heart of their offering today.
But the scale, capability, and ambition have certainly grown. Today, Punctual Print is a fully-fledged, in-house production facility, serving a wide range of industries, including retail, construction, hospitality, pharmaceuticals, professional services, and the public sector. Their output is impressive—from business cards and brochures to signage, wall graphics, vehicle wraps, branded clothing, exhibition displays, and everything in between.
The most significant evolution in recent years has been their expansion into branding services, providing clients with a cohesive offering that goes far beyond ink on paper. Whether it’s branded workwear, promotional products, packaging solutions,
or corporate gifts, Punctual Print has become a go-to partner for businesses seeking consistency across every brand touchpoint. Clients now benefit from a streamlined process—one team, one relationship, one cohesive result.
“It just made sense,” says Sonia. “We were already producing the core print and signage. Our clients were asking us for help with uniforms, events, promotional packs—you name it. So we built out that side of the business to meet that need—and now it’s one of the fastest-growing parts of what we do.”
That ability to listen, adapt, and act is perhaps what has kept Punctual Print not just relevant, but resilient, over two and a half decades. Their strength lies not in flashy marketing, but in the quiet confidence of consistently delivering—on time, on brief, and to a standard their clients trust.
A major factor in that trust is their long-standing decision to keep all production in-house. At a time when many print companies rely on outsourcing, Punctual Print maintains full control over every job from start to finish. Their facility houses the latest in print and finishing technology, allowing the team to deliver with both speed and precision. It means they can take on urgent deadlines, adjust specifications quickly, and uphold exacting quality standards—without being at the mercy of external suppliers.
That dedication to quality has recently taken on a new shape, with Punctual Print embarking on the journey toward ISO 9001 accreditation. While still in the early stages, the move reflects the business’s ongoing commitment to structure, consistency, and excellence. For the team, it’s not just about the certification—it’s about operational excellence that supports growth and delivers
even greater value to clients. As Bernard puts it, “We’ve always taken quality seriously. ISO 9001 is helping us formalise that approach and make it even stronger.”
The result is a business that runs lean but delivers big. Projects that might take weeks elsewhere can be turned around in days—or sometimes even hours—without compromising on craftsmanship. And when a problem does arise, there’s no passing the buck. The team is right there, sleeves rolled up, sorting it.
That hands-on approach is reflected across the entire team, many of whom have been with the company for years. There’s a deep pride in the work—not just in the finished product, but in the process itself. Punctual Print is a business that genuinely values relationships: with its clients, with its suppliers, and within its own walls.
Sustainability is another growing priority for the company. As environmental awareness has increased, so too has Punctual Print’s offering of recycled and responsibly sourced materials, lower-impact inks, and more efficient production processes. While they don’t claim to have it all figured out, their approach is practical and proactive—helping clients make better choices while taking responsibility for their own footprint. “There’s always more we can do,” Sonia says. “But we’ve made great progress, and we’re committed to keeping that momentum going—not just because it’s expected, but because it’s the right thing to do.”
As Punctual Print celebrates this 25-year milestone, the energy is not nostalgic—it’s forward-looking. With branding now fully integrated, demand growing across sectors, and businesses increasingly seeking joined-up solutions that combine creativity, quality, and service, Punctual Print is exceptionally wellpositioned for the future.
There are plans to explore further digital integration, expand product lines, and pursue collaborations that bring even greater value to their client base. But whatever direction the business takes, the foundation remains unchanged.
At Punctual Print, everything starts with our customers — they’re at the heart of what we do. We’re committed to providing reliable, high-quality service with a personal touch, built on care, consistency, and attention to detail. Great customer care isn’t a promise — it’s simply how we work. And in a fast-paced world, that makes all the difference.
A special thanks to Naas Racecourse for hosting our 25th anniversary celebration—a fitting venue to mark this proud milestone with clients, colleagues, friends, and family. Their hospitality helped make the day truly unforgettable.
We’d also like to extend a sincere thanks to the Kildare Chamber, whose network and support have played a key role in our growth. Sonia says, “Joining the Chamber 14 years ago was one of the best decisions we made for the business. The connections, encouragement, and opportunities it’s brought us over the years have been invaluable. I’d highly recommend it to any business serious about building strong local relationships and long-term success.”

Twenty-five years ago, Niall and Sarah Reck set out with a vision—to create a design and digital agency that would help businesses stand out in an ever-evolving digital world. What started as a small operation has grown into one of Ireland’s leading creative agencies, helping businesses craft compelling brands, build engaging websites, and embrace digital efficiency to work smarter and in turn help them make sales while they sleep.
Over the past two and a half decades, Graphedia has worked with a vast array of businesses, delivering expertise in website development, branding, video animation, and custom software solutions. Their ability to adapt to changing technology and marketing trends has positioned them as a trusted partner in the digital space.
Some key highlights include:
• Developing superlative websites that drive engagement and sales, helping businesses “Make Sales While You Sleep.”
• Helping businesses establish strong visual identities and branding that set them apart.
• Producing high-quality video and animation to help businesses promote their products and services with creativity and impact.
• Helping companies stay lean with Digitisation solutions, saving thousands of hours in time and operational costs.
Opening an office in Kildare in 2015 was a strategic move that helped propel Graphedia to new heights. The expansion allowed the company to better serve businesses in the region, providing tailored digital solutions that drive success.
Their commitment to customer service and business support was recognised when they received the County Kildare Chamber Customer Service Excellence Award, a testament to their dedication to helping businesses grow through innovative digital solutions.
Beyond Graphedia’s success, Niall is an active member of the County Kildare Chamber and a well-known face among local businesses. For the past six years, he has chaired the Kildare Chamber’s B2B networking
group every Wednesday morning, fostering a professional yet fun environment where businesses can connect, promote their services, and support one another’s growth.
From the Dawn of Digital to a Superlative Future
When Graphedia started, the digital world was in its infancy - Google had just launched, websites were static, social media was non-existent, and branding was mostly print-based. Fast forward 25 years, and the landscape has transformed dramatically. Today, businesses must embrace responsive website design, video-based content, e-commerce, and data-driven strategies to stay competitive.
Graphedia has remained at the forefront of these changes, constantly innovating and ensuring their clients stay ahead of the curve. Their expertise in UX/UI design, SEO, Animation and Digital Lean strategies allows businesses to connect with their audiences in new and powerful ways.
Yet, through all the evolution, the core message has remained the same:
• For websites: Design for three key audiences—your customer, Google, and your business. A successful website makes all three happy.
• For branding: Keep it simple. Don’t overwork your identity clarity wins.
• For digitisation: Identify the core pain points first. Don’t try to boil the ocean with one massive solution—slow down to speed up.
• For success: Strive for the superlative—be the best you can be.
As a company deeply rooted in both Wexford and Kildare, Graphedia has played a pivotal role in helping local businesses thrive. From startups to established enterprises, their creative solutions have empowered businesses to enhance their brand presence, improve efficiency, and drive new sales.
With a client-first approach, the Graphedia team focuses on understanding each business’s unique needs, creating tailored strategies that not only look great but also deliver tangible success.
None of this would have been possible without the loyalty and support of our amazing customers, who have trusted Graphedia to bring their visions to life. Their continued belief in what we do has been the driving force behind our growth and innovation.
We’re also incredibly grateful for the ongoing support of the County Kildare Chamber, whose encouragement and business network have played an integral role in our journey. Their commitment to fostering local enterprise has been a cornerstone of our success, and we are proud to be part of such a vibrant business community.
To everyone who has been part of the Graphedia journey—thank you Your support means the world to us.
While celebrating 25 years in business is a remarkable achievement, Graphedia is far from slowing down. The future of digital and design is constantly evolving, and Graphedia is committed to staying ahead of the curve.
With emerging trends in artificial intelligence, automation, interactive design, and digital transformation, Graphedia is continuously innovating to bring cutting-edge solutions to its clients. Their passion for creativity and technology ensures that businesses will continue to benefit from world-class digital expertise.
As Graphedia marks 25 years in business, one thing remains clear— their success is built on a foundation of innovation, adaptability, and a relentless commitment to their clients. From humble beginnings to becoming a powerhouse in digital branding and websites, their journey is a testament to what’s possible when creativity meets technology.
Here’s to the next superlative 25 years of helping businesses shine in the digital world!

This year, ITM, a Naas-based IT Managed Services company and Digital Agency celebrates 15 years in business. What started as a small local venture has grown into a trusted technology partner, serving over 200 businesses with IT solutions, cyber security, web design and digital marketing services.
To mark this milestone, we sat down with ITM’s co-founder, Liam Mac Namee, to reflect on the company’s journey - from its early days at a kitchen table to the well-established business it is today.
How It All Began: Hard Work, Perseverance and a Kitchen Table ITM’s journey has been one of determination and perseverance. Founded in 2010 by Liam Mac Namee and MJ Smith, ITM was born amid a challenging economic climate. Seeing an opportunity to use their skills to deliver IT support, they launched their business right from Liam’s kitchen table.
“The early days were tough,” Liam recalls. “We had to work hard to establish ourselves, knocking on doors and proving our value. There were challenging times, but we pushed through, improved and expanded. Eventually, we were able to grow and bring more people on board.”
Their first office? A small shed in MJ’s back garden. What began as a simple computer repair service soon evolved into a business providing comprehensive IT solutions, including network systems, cybersecurity and managed IT services.
Building Trust, Growth and Commitment to Excellence
Today, ITM Tech provides IT procurement, cloud and network solutions, cyber security and IT hardware/software support. The company has built a strong reputation, serving a variety of clients from SMEs to large corporations requiring robust IT infrastructure.
“We take pride in the fact that many of our earliest clients are still with us today. That speaks volumes about our commitment to quality, security and customer service.”
ITM’s ability to adapt to technological advancements and evolving customer needs has been a key driver of its success.
Ger Keane, who joined ITM as Technical Director in 2019, presented a significant milestone in this journey. Ger, who had previously worked at a large MSP firm before leaving to run his own business, brought over 15 years of valuable experience in the Managed Service Provider (MSP) sector.
Having worked with both national and multinational companies, he possessed deep expertise in tackling complex IT challenges, delivering innovative solutions and building strong relationships across diverse industries including medical, printing and education. His strategic insights and leadership have played a pivotal role in propelling ITM’s growth.
As ITM Tech flourished, it became clear that businesses needed more than IT support - they needed a strong digital presence. That’s when ITM Digital was born.
Recognising the increasing demand for website development, digital marketing and branding, ITM expanded its services to offer web design, SEO and digital strategy.
ITM Digital has since earned prestigious accolades for its web design expertise and has partnered with high-profile projects. With an exciting pipeline of projects ahead, ITM Digital is set for exponential growth in the coming years, particularly in the areas of web accessibility, ensuring compliance with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and WCAG 2.1 standards or higher.
Our
ITM has grown from a two-person operation to a thriving company employing a talented team that serves businesses across Leinster and beyond.
“The key to ITM’s success is our people,” says Liam. “A skilled, committed locally based team ensures top-notch customer service. I’ve been fortunate to work with amazing individuals who not only excel in their roles but also enjoy being part of a team that collaborates both inside and outside of work.”
Looking Ahead: The Future of ITM
“The tech industry never sleeps,” admits Liam. “We must constantly evolve to stay ahead. Our focus now is on AI, machine learning and strengthening cybersecurity solutions to ensure our clients can harness the power of new technologies safely and efficiently.”
Cybersecurity remains a top priority for ITM. As cyber threats continue to evolve, the company has expanded its services to include cybersecurity training, equipping businesses with the knowledge needed to mitigate phishing, smishing and other cyber risks.
Unlike overnight success stories, ITM’s growth has been built on consistency, dedication and a customer-first approach. “We’ve grown by taking one step at a time, securing one client at a time and ensuring every decision aligns with our core values,” says Liam. As he reflects on 15 years in business, Liam admits “Building ITM has been very rewarding both professionally and personally. If I had to do it all over again, I would! We have big plans for the future and I am looking forward to watching us grow further.
Kare is a non-profit, community-based organisation that supports people with intellectual disabilities. Its goal is to work with each individual, and their families, to create a present and future that fulfils their personal potential.
Founded in 1967 by a group of parents and friends of children with intellectual disabilities, Kare’s mission was to ensure that children with disabilities could live at home with their family and be educated locally.
Over the years since, the organisation has expanded the range of services and supports on offer to meet increased demand and changing needs. Today, Kare provide a wide range of community-based supports to children and adults with intellectual disabilities in more than 40 locations across Kildare and parts of surrounding counties.
Kare’s day services, also know as local services, run from Monday to Friday in many different locations, supporting people in an individualised and creative way by providing with opportunities to connect with others, take part in activities and develop skills. People are empowered to do things independently, including further education and work, as well as opportunities for sport, recreation and health and wellbeing activities.
Outreach is sometimes called a ‘service without walls’, working with each person in their own home or local area to support them with what they want to do. The Outreach team is guided by each individual and the kind of support they would like to receive, such as travel, further education, personal development projects, or however they choose to live their lives.
Kare’s Clinical Supports Team is a group of staff with highly specialised clinical skills and knowledge across a wide range of areas, who support people in Kare’s services. Specialty areas include occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, nursing, social work, behaviour support, clinical psychology and assistive technology.
Only 6.2% of people in Ireland with an intellectual disability work in paid employment. Kare’s Supported Employment team aims to address, helping people to find and maintain fulfilling roles by providing handso support, coaching and advice. Work placements and internships are also available, such as Project SEARCH in Naas General Hospital and the Oireachtas Work Learning programme.
Kare’s Lifelong Learning team provides a range of adult education courses to support people’s personal and professional development, including QQI accredited courses and interest-led learning groups, as well as specific programmes about transitioning into adult services.
Recognising and promoting the link between physical activity, social engagement and overall wellbeing, Kare’s Sports and Recreation department has a busy, year-round programme of events including inclusive sports tournaments, outings and a regular social club. Kare’s equestrian centre in Baltinglass gives service users the opportunity to participate in horse riding and equine therapy.
Supported by a dedicated Social Inclusion Officer, Kare provides opportunities for people to engage actively in their communities, break down barriers and cultivate meaningful connections, through initiatives such as social farming, Make Way Day and Kildare Disability Week.
Central to Kare’s mission is the profound significance of social inclusion in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. Social inclusion isn’t just a concept, it’s a fundamental right that fosters dignity, respect and equality for all.
For children, Kare provides safe and nurturing spaces where they can learn and develop at their own pace.
In Kare’s Early Years pre-school, as well as St Anne’s and St Mark’s special schools of which Kare is patron, the unique abilities of each young person are embraced to ensure they have the opportunities they deserve.
Kare is also the lead agency for the Children’s Network Disability Team (CDNT) in South Kildare and West Wicklow, as well as providing respite services to families.

Advocacy is central to the Chamber’s mission. Every day, we represent the needs of Kildare’s business community across local government, national policymaking and international engagement. From infrastructure to planning, from trade to skills, we are your voice at the table — ensuring policy reflects the reality on the ground for Kildare businesses of all sizes. Through consultation, evidence-based submissions, and close collaboration with stakeholders, we work to ensure that County Kildare remains competitive, connected and primed for growth.
Work on the Chamber’s Budget 2026 submission has commenced, with the team now engaging directly with members to gather insights, challenges and ideas that should shape Government priorities.
Early focus areas include:
• Transport Infrastructure: Calls for accelerated delivery of DART+ West/South West; enhanced bus connectivity along the M7 corridor; and investment in active travel facilities.
• Enterprise & Innovation Zones: Support for a designated innovation zone in North Kildare to attract inward investment and enable SME scaling in key sectors such as life sciences, tech and clean manufacturing.
• Urban Regeneration: Input on town centre revitalisation needs, including mixed-use development, co-working infrastructure and remote working supports in Naas, Newbridge, Maynooth, Athy and Kildare Town.
• Planning & Infrastructure Activation: Member feedback continues to highlight the need for better resourced planning functions and investment in enabling infrastructure (utilities, roads, etc.) on zoned lands.
Members are encouraged to share their budget priorities directly with the Chamber policy team between now and early July.
Our international outreach continues to grow, opening new doors for members and reinforcing Kildare’s position as a globally connected business location.
Boston Partnership Development
Discussions are progressing on a potential Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the World Trade Center Boston, creating opportunities for soft landing supports, joint ventures and future trade missions.
Boston remains a key focus of our TradeBridge initiative, which aims to create structured international links for Kildare businesses — particularly in Life Sciences, CleanTech and Food & Beverage.
This month, County Kildare Chamber will participate in the Chambers Ireland delegation to Scotland, focused on building bilateral relationships and increasing all-island and cross-border business connectivity. Our ambition is clear: to open up more opportunities for businesses to collaborate, export and grow.
County Kildare Chamber will continue to represent you at every level, ensuring that our county remains a location of choice for investment, innovation and enterprise.
To contribute to our any of our submissions, join a policy working group or get involved in international engagement, contact: sinead@countykildarechamber.ie
County Kildare Chamber hosted its Annual Business Luncheon in April in the beautiful surroundings of the South Clubhouse at The K Club. The event welcomed over 250 Chamber members, members of the Oireachtais and many stakeholders from across the region for an afternoon of discussion, business networking, and world-class hospitality.
The luncheon, held in association with Straffan GAA, was headlined by guest speaker John Collison, the Co-Founder and President of Stripe, one of the world’s leading fintech companies. Founded in 2010 by John and his brother Patrick, Stripe has grown from Irish start-up into a global powerhouse, recently valued over $90 billion with dual headquarters in San Francisco and Dublin.
Guests arrived to a drinks reception before sitting down to a delicious three-course meal, prepared and served by the excellent team at The K Club. Attendees were treated to a fireside chat between John Collison and renowned business journalist Ian Kehoe.
John shared insights into the early beginnings of Stripe, starting out providing a niche solution, building customer trust, and navigating the path from start-up to a global business.
He also highlighted his views on Ireland as a place to do business, applauding the country’s pro-business policies and innovationfriendly environment while cautioning against complacency. Discussing the key challenges facing Ireland as a place to do business; its infrastructure gaps and the need for urgency in policymaking to address these gaps.
Among the standout insights shared by John were his thoughts on embracing AI through, empowering teams to identify productivity opportunities, and his own time-management philosophy: “Focus on your calendar and assess how you’re spending your time. If it’s not adding value, why are you doing it?”
His ambition was not confined to Stripe alone. Guests were intrigued to hear about his new involvement with the redevelopment of Weston Airport, which he sees as a strategic asset in Ireland’s aviation infrastructure.
The event also saw meaningful conversations happening offstage. Attendees included leaders from a variety of sectors including education, retail, manufacturing, hospitality, and finance to name a few. Present at the event were not only business leaders but also local elected representatives and ministers, reinforcing the Chamber’s role as a central hub for business development in the region. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive.
“As always, the County Kildare Chamber out did itself with it’s latest networking event at the K Club on April 9th featuring, John Collison, the founder of Stripe. The event was both relaxed and professional with everyone being afforded the opportunity to get an insight into the business and personal life of John Collison together with the added bonus of making new connections. In my 20 years of being a member, the Chamber NEVER disappoints. It has aided me in my business and I have made lifelong friends too!” - Alistair Conway, Conway, Conway & Co.
“Fantastic afternoon at the recent Chamber event. The venue, hospitality, and atmosphere were brilliant. A particular highlight was hearing from John Collison - an incredibly inspiring and insightful speaker. It was a real privilege to be in the room with someone so accomplished and forward thinking. Chamber events continue to be an excellent space to connect with peers, grow your network, and explore new business opportunities. Highly recommended for anyone looking to stay inspired and engaged in the business community.” - Leona Hughes, Punchestown Racecourse
The Chamber extends a sincere thank you to John Collison, Ian Kehoe, Straffan GAA, The K Club, and every member who attended.
