Next Generation Patented Drilling Blades

Triton launched its unique deep soil engagement direct drill in 2018 to give plough based yields from direct drilling. 6 years later we are consistently achieving higher yields from the Triton than from ploughed trials on our own land. The Triton is the only all weather seed drill on the market that gives the flexibility to grow maximum profit autumn sown crops whilst reducing blackgrass from late drilling... several manufacturers are now also claiming all weather capability... if these are false claims then the farmer’s new approach will be thwarted.

Buying a blade drill is now an open and shut case. Why? Because only the Triton drill

the machine’s carbon footprint.

Fendt’s iD concept saves fuel during high torque, low speed work and on the road – meaning at 40 km/h the engine works at 950 rpm, 50 km/h at 1,200 rpm, and the top speed of 60 km/h at 1,450 rpm.

Traction

The single-stage Fendt VarioDrive drivetrain with permanent, independent four-wheel drive was first introduced in 2014 with the Fendt 1000 Vario and is now available for the first time in the 800 Vario series. This enables maximum tractive power without manual shifting when switching between field and road. A reduced turning circle is achieved through a pull-in turn effect, with the independently driven front axle pulls the machine into the turn without torsion.

Like most Fendts, the 800 has a low

Major machinery dealer goes in to administration

Almost 150 employees have been made redundant after machinery dealer Rea Valley Tractors went into administration.

Tim Higgins, Edward Williams and Jane Steer of PwC were appointed last month as joint administrators of Dunstall Holdings and Rea Valley Tractors. Headquartered in Burtonon-Trent, with seven sites across the Midlands, north-west England and Wales., the two companies were primarily engaged in the sale, servicing and repair of agricultural machinery, materials handling equipment and workplace storage.

Both had been pursuing opportunities to secure a long-term future through a sale of all or part of the businesses following a prolonged peiod of difficult trading conditions and inflationary cost pressures.

Despite a comprehensive marketing process, no viable offers were received for the group as a whole – leaving the directors no vialble alternative but to place the companies into administration.

Great sadness

Both Rea Valley Tractors and Dunstall Holdings are now being wound down. Some staff are being retained by but 149 out of 169 employees were made redundant immediately on the appointment of the administrators.

Mr Higgins said: “Rea Valley trac-

tors is one of the most recognisable names in the local agricultural industry and it’s with great sadness that it has entered administration today along with Dunstall Holdings.

“Regrettably, 149 employees have been made redundant – we know how unsettling this will be for the people affected, as well as the group’s customers at this important time of year, and we will be providing all parties with the necessary support.”

Pivotal moment

Rea Valley Tractors, which celebrated its 40th year earlier in 2025, had experienced major expansion since being appointed as a New Holland dealer in 2022 – described as the firm as a pivotal moment.

Throughout 2023, the company extended its footprint by opening new depots across Cheshire, North Wales, and Lancashire, alongside the strategic acquisition of Teme Valley Tractors.

As well as New Holland, the farm equipment dealer also represented the JCB and Kuhn Farm Machinery brands. It had an in-house Precision Farming division, and an Isuzu commercial vehicle division.

Describing itself as a one-stopshop for agricultural and ground care needs, other brands supported by the company included Joskin, Stihl, Corvus UTV, Bailey Trailers, Husqvarna, Milwaukee, Cub Cadet and Iseki.

‘Seamless transition’ for JCB customers

JCB has reorganised its agricultural machinery distribution in areas previously covered by Rea Valley Tractors.

JCB Agriculture managing director John Smith said it had moved quickly to appoint new dealers to retain the first-class sales and service that its customers expected. The changes took place last month.

Sharmans Agricultural has extended its JCB territory westwards to cover Derbyshire and Staffordshire up to the M6. The dealer is also be investing in brand-new premises to serve customers in this area.

Chandlers RFM JCB has expanded its JCB coverage to include Shropshire and Staffordshire to the west of the M6, operating from Bridgnorth. The dealer is planning a new depot in the Market Drayton area to provide additional support.

John Bownes has taken over JCB coverage for Cheshire from its base in Winsford. Emyr Evans will provide parts and technical service support in north and mid-Powys and north of Ceredigion, pending a permanent dealer appointment.

Mr Smith said: “We expect the transition to be seamless given the expertise and professionalism of the dealers being appointed. We would also like to thank Rea Valley Tractors for supporting JCB customers for the past 18 years.”

Kuhn appoints new representative

Kuhn Farm Machinery has appointed RVW Pugh to its dealer network following the demise of Rea Valley Tractors.

It said RVW Pugh was ideally located to serve Kuhn customers and would be responsible for Kuhn’s full range of grassland and arable machinery, along with the brand’s electronic services.

“This positive and proactive move follows various announcements and changes concerning Kuhn’s previous dealers covering these counties, notably Rea Valley Tractors and Malpas Tractors,” said Kuhn.

RVW Pugh has nearly 50 years of experience selling and supporting farmers, operating from three depots: Churchstoke, Powys; Holmes Chapel, Cheshire; and Lathom, south Lancashire, with the latter being a Kuhn square baler centre.

TR Machinery, part of the RVW Pugh Group based in Newport, Shropshire, will also stock the full range of Kuhn grassland and arable machinery, said Kuhn UK managing director Sian Pritchard.

lic and France, while formats like the Young Professionals Day aim to engage the next generation of farmers.

“We are addressing the key future challenges facing the industry and highlighting the pivotal role of digital technologies in enabling sustainable and competitive farming,” says Timo Zipf, Agritechnica Project Manager.

At the same time, the exhibition opens up new perspectives into emerging technologies, says Mr Zipf.

In line with this year’s theme, the Digital Farm Centre will celebrate its premiere at Agritechnica. The new platform in Hall 21 is aimed at farmers, contractors, consultants, manufacturers, start-ups, and technology providers.

Innovation

Representatives from science and research, development engineers, and investors will also find space here for

networking, knowledge exchange, and access to innovative technologies.

“Visitors will experience automation, AI, and robotics up close, from moderated live demonstrations illustrating data exchange between stateof-the-art tractors and im-plements, to hands-on examples of smart farming.”

Each day of the trade fair offers topics, formats, and networking opportunities precisely aligned with the interests of specific visitor groups, from farmers and agricultural machinery dealers to experts in research and development.

The programme kicks off on Sunday, 9 November, followed by two Agribusiness Days (10-11 November) dedicated to dealers, contractors, and large-scale farms. The final day is billed as a celebration of farming.

How technology is future of farming

Autonomous and semi-autonomous technologies are rapidly reshaping agricultural practice – and will be a central focus at Agritechnica 2025.

From intelligent field robots to retrofit kits for tractors, the trade fair will showcase the latest innovations in automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence (AI) designed to support farmers in an increasingly complex environment.

Modern agricultural machines are increasingly equipped with technologies such as GPS, sensors, cameras, AI, and machine learning, enabling them to perform tasks with minimal human intervention while remaining under operator supervision.

Manufacturers such as Claas, John Deere, Cae, and Fendt will present their latest devel-opments

at Agritechnica – including retrofit kits that enable existing tractors to operate autonomously or via remote control.

These systems are already used for precision sowing, weeding, fertiliser applications and crop protection. They are particularly valuable in speciality crops and organic farming, where manual labour is both intensive and costly.

Field robots can weed with high precision – not only between rows but also within rows – thanks to advanced sensor and camera systems. AI-based image recognition enables them to distinguish between crops and weeds even when seedlings.

Time savings of up to 80% are said to be achieveable compared to manual weeding.

New Quadtrac puts more power to the ground

Case IH is doubling down on power and productivity with the new Steiger 785 Quadtrac – increasing its horsepower by almost 10% over the previous model.

Agritechnica 2025 will mark the European debut of the new Quadtrac – a bold step forward in high-performance – along with the latest innovations across the Case IH tractor lineup, harvesting and precision technology solutions.

impressive 40% torque rise.

lane roads with its excellent visibility and manoeuvrability for an optimal driving experience, says Mr Savinov.

The newest Steiger model offers 853 peak horsepower, for farmers aiming to get even more done on their operations, without decreasing speed. As well as putting more power to the ground, it also offers a superior operator experience.

The higher horsepower means more productivity, says Case IH , allowing farmers to handle larger implements or pull the same implements even faster, offering an

“Producers today need more from their equipment – more power and peak productivity,” says Alexey Savinov, Europen product marketing manager for Steiger tractors at Case IH.

“The new Steiger 785 Quadtrac is built to deliver exactly that, combining increased horsepower and torque with the reliability operators count on to make the most of every day in the field.”

Visibility

Even with the increase in horsepower, the 785 Quadtrac is nimble enough for single-

Machinery makers hopeful on sales

Farm machinery manufacturers say they remain hopeful of a rebound in sales as they prepare for Agritechnica.

“We are traveling to Hanover in an economically tense and politically volatile situation. However, we hope to see sales pick up again in the medium term,” says Tobias Ehrhard, managing director of the VDMA Agricultural Machinery Association (pictured below).

“Although order intake rose noticeably in numerous product segments in the first half of 2025, the sales situation remains unsatisfactory. An upturn has been expected for some time, but it is not really materialising at the moment.”

Looking back on the past six months, the effects of the downturn that began in 2023 are still visible.

The 42 km/h transport speed gets operators from field to field quicker, enhancing their efficiency, says Case IH. Meanwhile, a fuel capacity of 1,970 litres allows for more time in the field between fueling.

The optional Quadtrac Heavy-Duty Suspension sets the bar in track technology with a fully suspended undercarriage system that combines ground-conforming double axis roller wheels and exclusive load-sharing hydraulic suspension.

This durable, agronomically designed system delivers a smoother ride, faster transport speeds up to 26.5 mph, and superior traction and flotation–reducing soil compaction while maximizing in-field performance, says Mr Savinov.

Autonomous tillage system unveiled

Lemken has launched a iQblue smart implement system in its pursuit of fully autonomous field cultivations.

Developed jointly with Dutch software specialist Track32, iQblue combines three automation systems to create an integrated autonomous tillage system for farmers.

A flow control module monitors the flow of material in the tine section in real time, with images analysed to detect critical accumulations of material, such as clumps of straw or soil, before fieldwork is disrupted.

sors continuously measuring roller slippage. If there is a risk of impaired reconsolidation, ground speed is automatically adjusted without the need for driver intervention.

The final module of the overall system is the iQblue tool monitoring system, which has won a silver DLG Innovation Award.

This module uses a camera with AIsupported image analysis to assess the condition of the cultivator shares at each headland.

The system is complemented by slippage control, with protected speed sen-

German manufacturers recorded a 28% decline in sales in 2024 but this slowed to a 10% decline in the six months to June 2025.

“The situation remains challenging in many places, but our industry is structurally and financially solid. Since the agricultural machinery business traditionally operates in cycles, the industry can also cope with this situation.”

Latest methane tractor available to order

New Holland will unveil the latest version of its T7 methanepowered tractor at Agritechnica 2025 – with the machine now available to order.

Powered by methane in the form of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), the T7.270 tractor takes new Holland’s alternative fuel technology further up the power scale. Orders can be made from the end of 2025, with the first deliveries in spring 2026.

“The T7.270 Methane Power is ideal for biodigester operators running haulage tractor fleets,” says product manager Darragh Mullin. It also meets the demands of larger-scale arable farms and contractors with heavyduty implements, he adds.

Methane power

“The combination of methane power technology with proven New Holland T7 features is designed to offer customers a blend of low operating costs, autonomy, reliability and driver comfort.”

The T7 Methane Power tractor can run on biomethane derived from livestock manure. This closed-loop system reduces emissions, cuts fertiliser use, and can even achieve a negative carbon footprint, says Mr Mullin.

Underneath the hood design is the proven NEF 6.7-litre six-cylinder engine upgraded with a high-performance turbo, new engine dataset, specific fuel system and after-treatment layout.

Peak torque

The engine’s peak torque is 1,160Nm, and it produces a maximum 270hp under all conditions. With new engine mapping, the tractor matches performance levels expected by customers, with uptime maximized by a 750hr service interval.

New Holland’s design team optimised the on-board gas storage thanks to the new T7’s larger chassis, with a standard capacity of 657 litres (117.9kg) and optional 480-litre

(86.2kg) range extender, for a total capacity of 1,106 litres (204.1kg).

When fitted, the range extender delivers up to 11 hours of autonomy in transport applications. Already widely used in road vehicles, an NGV2 refuelling valve supports pressures of up to 260 bar for rapid refuelling times equivalent to diesel.

The tractor also features the New Holland Auto Command continuously variable transmission.

First deliveries of the T7.270 tractor are due in spring 2026
