Will & Grundy Hosts Annual Steak Fry in Juliet, Illinois

he Contractors Association of Will & Grundy County held its Annual Steak Fry on Aug. 6 at St. Joseph’s Park in Joliet, Ill. Each year more than 500 people attend this popular event, which includes a mouth-watering steak (that fits on one plate itself) smothered in onions, mushrooms and garlic all prepared by CAWGC volunteers, assorted side dishes prepared by Dukes Catering and ice cold beverages. CAWGC raised $5,000 for Wish Upon A Star and presented them the check. Of the raffle winners, Rich Bennett of Mid-American Water won first place, which included a $3,000 travel voucher and $1,000 in cash; Dave Fallin won $500; and Sharon Sullivan of JS Alberico, Jay Wick, Mike Gerrish, Fritz Malsky and a ticket that was purchased with Wish Upon A Star name on it won $100. In addition, both Gerrish and Wick donated their $100 back to Wish Upon A Star. In addition, Greg Piet and John Werniak won first place in the bean bags and Larry O’Mally and Greg Mitchell took second place. New this year was live entertainment with the Cody Calkins Band.
