Excellence from students graduating

An annual presentation of the following academic year’s curricular, scheduling, and training choices, accompanied by the affiliated budget, will be presented at the January board meeting for a final vote.

Timeline for the Education Committee Process MAY Committee members are selected and approved. JUNE All teaching contracts will be presented, along with the grades they will be instructing and subjects they will be teaching. All curriculum will be presented for each grade and subject. Expected homework loads will be formally documented. Teacher Training will commence (either locally or remotely). New teachers will be assigned a mentor teacher. Mentor teachers will begin regular meetings with their assigned teacher. JULY Mentor teachers will continue to meet with their assigned teachers. As a committee, an educational philosophy book will be read. AUGUST The Education Council - Committee will assist the administrator/principal during a one week in-service to foster excellence in education. Schedule teacher vettings for the year. Review the scope, sequencing and objectives submitted by each teacher. Review the handbook with teachers (special focus on communication and classroom management). SEPTEMBER Begin the cycle of vetting all teachers in first semester. Send out homework surveys to families. Hold a meeting in mid September to get teacher feedback on curricular choices. Create a SWOT for each teacher. Create a SWOT for each curriculum. Review the constitution and line up curriculum with the philosophy of education written therein. OCTOBER Review the mathematics curriculum throughout the K-12 program. Research philosophies in teaching mathematics.
