Resignation and Filling MidTerm Vacancies
○ They shall show evidence of personal integrity and be clearly convinced of the values of Christian education. ○ They shall be prepared to devote sufficient time to fulfilling the duties of board leadership. ○ They shall be willing and able to make sacrifices of their time, knowledge, and personal pleasure for the benefit of the school. ○ They shall be willing to educate themselves regarding their roles and responsibilities on the board and the concepts of Christian education. ○ They shall be earnest, wholehearted followers of Christ who is the source of their faith. ○ They shall aspire to the character qualities in Titus 1:5-8 and I Timothy 3:1-12. ○ They shall be willing to sign the CFLC Board of Directors Honor Code. ○ They shall have read the bylaws. ○ All applicants must read Serving on a Christian School Board of Directors (by
Roy W. Lowrie) prior to their inauguration.
The submission process will be as follows: 1. Nominee names will be presented in advance of the meeting via email with arguments supporting their nomination, fulfillment, and qualification as a board member. 2. The vice-chairman will announce all names at the February board meeting. 3. The vice-chairman will announce the levels of board positions that will be vacant. 4. Each nominee’s qualification will be opened for discussion. 5. After each nominee has been discussed, a vote will be taken for each individual. A unanimous vote will produce an invitation from the chairman to join the board. The chairman will ensure the following applies to the nominee: a. They are willing to sign the CFLC Board of Directors Honor Code. b. They expressly agree with the Libertas Constitution. c. They understand and are willing to follow the bylaws of the board. 6. Should the nominee accept the position, he/she will be invited to sign the honor code, and will begin attending meetings beginning in March. The nominee will not have voting rights until officially in-stated at the July 1 meeting. 7. If nominee receives a dissenting vote, their name will be tabled for later discussion. If CFLC does not fill all board seats during the selection process, tabled nominees will be re-considered. If/when all board seats have been filled, tabled names will be officially declined as board members for the upcoming year.
If a board member cannot fulfill his or her obligation to serve on the board, he or she shall give the board written notice as to the effective date of resignation. The board shall then proceed
