A SWEET EASTER ESCAPE
Little bunnies, along with The Easter Bunny itself, had an eggcellent time at Cloverdale's Sweet Escape with The Easter Bunny program this Spring.
Everyone was so excited for The Easter Bunny's arrival on March 16, that all 96 spots were sold in a record 45-minutes! Children hopped over to take part in Cloverdale's Easter Egg Smash-Up celebration where they decorated and filled their very own chocolate smash eggs with a variety of mini candies and later, crafted adorable pop-up egg-themed cards. Plus—The Easter Bunny made a surprise appearance to the delight of all! The chocolatey fun event launched Cloverdale's
two-week Spring program, where 395 families came out to meet The Easter Bunny and capture a sweet photo moment, a 5% increase from 2023 .

Families hopped over to Cloverdale to celebrate the sweet arrival of The Easter Bunny with a "smashing" workshop.
The fun didn’t stop there! A whopping 339 kids showed off their eggcellent drawing talents by submitting Easter Egg Colouring Contest entries for a chance to win an extra large 16” custom chocolate smash egg. Congratulations to our winner Elina M!

COFFEE, CHAT, AND PLAY!
Cloverdale’s latest Tenant Coffee Chat was a swing and a hit, when Fairgrounds graciously hosted our quarterly meeting courtside!
On April 30, 34 tenants were treated to a fun and informative presentation by guest speaker Alex Dorbyk, Operations and Development Manager at Fairgrounds Public Racket Club. Alex gave tenants the inside scoop on how the idea of a place to play pickleball, has emerged into a successful business platform known as Fairgrounds.
Following the Q&A with Alex, tenants eagerly jumped on the courts to learn from popular pickleball coach Danielle LeBlanc, who by the way is in such high demand for coaching sessions, she
has a waiting list! She eased the minds of those who were new to the sport but ready to learn, so much so, that after a quick tutorial, those that started out “racket-curious” picked it up, just like that!
Tenants were also given updated information on the Marketing and Operations aspects of the Centre by General Manager Stefan Pal and Marketing Director Jennifer Den Engelsman. This quarterly chat at Fairgrounds was exactly what was needed to rejuvenate our tenants’ entrepreneurial spirits and gave them an opportunity to try the

hottest sport around—pickleball! See you at the next Coffee Chats:July 30, and November 5!
Exclusive Offer: All Cloverdale Tenants will receive free paddle rentals and 15 per cent off everything in the retail shop. Use code: cloverdalemall to take advantage of this deal to purchase merchandise through the Fairgrounds website.
Advise the Fairgrounds staff when going to play that you are a Cloverdale Tenant, and which store you work at, to take advantage of the free paddle rentals, when you book a court to play.

Artist Highlights:
Kim Cheung
Chelsea Moore
In her artistic practice, she utilizes textiles as a medium to create visual narratives. Inspired by the materiality of fabric, her work aims to symbolize feminine perspectives through textile-based media and aims to portray mature feminine relationships and explore female dynamics. The recurring theme in her work revolves around the intersection of domesticity, femininity, and materiality. By predominantly displaying the female figure and using soft materials, Chelsea's art establishes a dynamic between material and conventional artistic forms. This relationship challenges the historical categorization of textiles not being included in fine arts, a narrative she hopes to change through her work.
Kim Cheung is an interdisciplinary artist with a passion for uncovering stories. She uses a multitude of mediums such as print, collage and sculpture to highlight marginalized voices and explore intersectional identities. She believes that through art, there is storytelling, and through storytelling there is understanding. In her work, she highlights the journey of immigration her family went through in the 1960s when arriving in Toronto. As young people, her grandparents wanted to start a better life, away from the poverty they lived in at home, perhaps to find something similar but better here in Canada. Even though their immigration was successful, they had two daughters they left back in China. These documents were uncovered after her grandparents passed, and they detail the journey of trying to reunite the family here in Toronto.
Marjan Qasemi
Marjan is a Canadian artist with over 11 years of experience as a freelance artist. Her portfolio boasts a diverse range of styles, reflecting her passion for experimentation with various mediums. Marjan has lent her talent to creating cover art for independent musicians in the vibrant music scene of Toronto. Marjan draws inspiration from sources as varied as miniature art, old comics, pop art, and traditional artwork. Her creations defy strict categorization. She believes in allowing her art to speak for itself, stating, “It is what it is, and what you like it to be.” Marjan emphasizes the importance of a clear and comprehensive research process, coupled with explorative techniques, to support the development of her final artworks.

FROM THE GROUND UP
A message from Irmin Candelario, Operations Manager, Cloverdale Mall
This Spring has brought on new developments to the Cloverdale site. A beacon of light has appeared outside the parking lot near Entrance 2—a newly constructed pylon sign showcasing anchor stores Metro, Winners and eight more of Cloverdale’s retailers. This uniquely designed sign, facing The East Mall, also features the updated Cloverdale logo.
Just south of the new pylon sign, is The Experience Centre, steadily moving towards the final stage of construction. Landscaping is currently underway with sod to be laid, exhibiting an outdoor space that is made functional with benches and lawn to stretch out on, but also providing beautiful curb appeal to the white scalloped exterior. Serving residents and new homebuyers alike, this family-friendly multipurpose community hub will offer guests a place to meet, socialize, and take part in unique events! Guests will be invited to take part in organized events and activities, learn all about the new Cloverdale Community vision, and to see the beautiful new homes on offer!
My team and I continue to make maintenance of and safety at, the property a top priority. In addition, we have refreshed the parking lot with a repainting of the parking lot lines and line markings throughout a majority of the site.
Customer experience is also paramount to us here at Cloverdale, that’s why, not only has the canopy tent area outside Entrance 1 returned for the Spring and Summer, but it is now extended to double the
covered seating size as before. With the positive feedback received last year, and with the addition of Fairgrounds to that entrance, we felt it was beneficial to expand the canopy coverage area for guests wishing to take advantage of the weather and dine or relax outside.
A friendly reminder to check your tenant handbook for any initial inquiries regarding security, housekeeping, and property concerns. As always, if any of your inquires cannot be addressed there, please reach out to me at irmin.candelario@quadreal.com.

VAROOM . . . READY, SET, GO!
Scouts Canada Regional Kub Kar Rally
The familiar sounds of cheers and tiny race cars filled the Cloverdale Common on April 14, as local Cub Scouts gathered for the annual Scouts Canada Kub Kar Rally.
The Kub Kar Rally is an annual racing event for Cub Scouts across Canada. Cub Scouts, with the help of their leaders and parents, use their creativity to design and build their own Kub Kars from wood using a standard Kub Kar Kit. The Cubs then design, cut out using carpentry tools, assemble their wooden vehicles, paint and decorate them.
At the Kub Kar Rally event, Cubs face-off in head-to-head races with their handmade race cars on the iconic Kub Kar racetrack vying for badges as well as trophies for speed and best design.
Congratulations to all participants!
