Basic skills

The Basic Skills program provides employees in businesses and industries on-site training to acquire new knowledge and skills and upgrade existing skills or obtain a GED. Job-related forms and information can be incorporated into the curriculum of these programs, thus enhancing the skill development of the employee. Training topics have included oral and written communication skills, basic computer operations, word processing and other software applications.

Intermediate Computer Skills | Mondays, 12:45 pm - 3:45 pm

Learn the very basics beginning with the on button. Explore what is supposed to happen when the computer turns on and what to do when there is a problem. By the end of the semester you’ll be able to play a game, access the Internet and use Microsoft Word.

Continue to expand your knowledge of the personal computer. After completion of “Introduction to Computers”, this class offers further information on computer hardware, anti-virus software, anti-spyware, the Internet, E-mail, and Microsoft Office.

Basic Computer Skills | Fridays, 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Practice makes perfect. Once you complete “Introduction to Computers” learn how to apply those skills here. Learn letter writing, spreadsheet development, Internet commerce (e-commerce), and e-mail.

Discover the computer as a tool for personal use. Classes start as an introduction to computers and continues to cover the Internet, e-mail, and Microsoft Office programs such as basic MS Word and basic MS Excel.
