Past Projects UH Football Social by Dyson Sato At the Homecoming game social, we hung out, played games and socialized with each other. We then went inside the stadium to watch and support our football team take on UNLV. Unfortunately we lost, but we still had a great time!

Past Projects American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

by Jolie Au

On October 22, 2016, our club volunteered at the ACS Strides walk.We were places along the edge of the course, between the participants and moving traffic. Our job as course marshals was to remind participants to stay within the marked course and to cheer everyone on! It was amazing to see survivors, children, families, and friends come together to support one another! -3-

Past Projects Kiwanis Lieutenant Governor Visit by Jolie Au

On October 26, 2016, three of our members attended a unique Kiwanis meeting, in which Kiwanians from all over the island of Oahu gathered to meet Audrey Kagawa, the 2016-2017 Cal-Nev-Ha Lieutenant Governor. "Aunty" Audrey comes from the Kiwanis Club of East Hawaii (in Hilo) and has great plans for the upcoming year. Of course, there were many familiar faces from our sponsoring Kiwanis Club of Honolulu and other clubs that we have worked with in the past (and hope to continue working with in the future), but there were also many new faces from other Kiwanis clubs that we have not yet had a chance to work with. We met some fellow Circle K-ers from HPU, reconnected with some old friends from various Key Clubs, and enjoyed lots of great food!

Past Projects Bowling Social

by Sean Domingo On October 29, our club was supposed to have a Kiwanis social. However, only UH Manoa was able to attend so it became a UH Manoa Circle K Social. We were able to play 3 games. Sabrina won the first game, I won the second, and Jolie won the third. The best part of the night came after the bowling when we got to eat the Lemon Crunch Cake at Aiea Bowl. Overall, it was a fun social and I hope more of you can come out next time! -5-

Past Projects United Cerebral Palsy Dessert Fantasy by Ace Cabato

On Sunday, November 6, UH MÄ noa Circle K attended UCPA Dessert Fantasy with 14 volunteers in the Grand Ballroom at the Pacific Beach Hotel. Before the event started, we were given a debriefing about how we should answer the guest's questions. When we were done debriefing, our club spread out to tables 1, 2, and 3 and stood in front of a delicious-looking dessert. When the doors opened to the public, guests came rushing in and everyone was definitely making a good impression on their dessert. After the event was over, every volunteer was given a bento box to take home any left-over desserts. This is a continuous event we do every year and I highly encourage you guys to do this next year!

Past Projects Operation: Christmas Child

by Alisa Tseng

On Sunday, November 6, UH Manoa Circle K joined forces with Kaiser Key Club in an effort to bring Christmas to children around the world! Starting the holiday season off early with Christmas music and gifts, we filled 89 shoebox presents for kids who might be experiencing the holiday season for the first time. It was a lot of fun playing Santa – packing the boxes and writing letters to kids – knowing that what we were making a difference. This is an annual event, so keep it in mind when you’re buying school supplies! -7-

Key to College Don't Forget! Saturday, November 19, 2016

by Jenna Onaga During our Key to College event, Key Clubbers from different high schools visited UH Mānoa to learn more about the college experience! Our Key to College committee organized the event, and some of our Circle K members gave helpful advice about things like the basics of applying to college and student life in general. At the end of the event, Circle K members from different majors spoke with Key Clubbers about their fields of study and their own experiences at UH Mānoa. It was an enjoyable experience for everyone who participated, and it’s sure to be fun again this year! -8-

Mr./Ms. Aloha Emma Pastor October 24, 2016

Kevin Liu November 7, 2016

Emma is always graciously offering to provide rides and attend events. For the football game she went 4 hours early with some of our other members as to save a space. She even woke up early to go to the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. After all of that she made videos from each event to share with the club.

As one of our newest members, Kevin has shown tremendous enthusiasm for service. He attended the Kiwanis LTG Oahu Visit. Also he is a part of the Key to College Committee, where is created awesome name tags and contributed a lot to the "College basics" workshop. -9-
