pour une meilleure représentation et transmission du non-savoir Ce projet propose de travailler autour de la représentation du “non-savoir”. Cette proposition repose sur la conviction que le dialogue entre arts, design, sciences et société est à même de proposer de nouveaux horizons dans la compréhension et l’appréhension des mondes connus et à découvrir.

En partant de cette approche transversale et interdisciplinaire, l’idée est de questionner collectivement, avec des points de vue et des points de départ différents, notre rapport au connu, à l’inconnu, au caché, à l’enfoui, d’en interroger les représentations comme les modes de transmission du non-savoir.

C’est donc en croisant les récits scientifiques, artistiques, de recherche, que nous proposons de présenter une réflexion collaborative et évolutive sur les mystères et les angles morts du monde actuel et des mondes à venir.

Pour mener à bien ce projet, Ruedi et Vera Baur réunissent des experts et un réseau international

d’écoles d’art et de design pour interroger ensemble ces non-savoirs. L’objectif est d’imaginer la manière dont le design peut donner de la visibilité à ce qui n’est pas visible, rendre perceptible ce qui ne l’est pas, donner à voir ce qui ne peut être vu. Et donner un pouvoir d’agir à celles et ceux qui sont exclus, à celles et ceux dont le savoir n’est pas valorisé, à celles et ceux dont les compétences ne sont pas visibles.

Et puisqu’il est pour nous essentiel de travailler de manière ouverte et partagée, notre projet s’attachera à inclure le plus possible le jeune public, les étudiants et le grand public. Ces liens entre monde universitaire, recherche et société civile sont au coeur de nos préoccupations et du projet. Car ce dernier est bien plus qu’une exposition: ce sera une école ouverte sur les mondes et les savoirs multiples, animée par des étudiants et des chercheurs à destination de tous les publics.

for the realisation of a civic intelligibility project This project aims to work on the representation of “not-knowing”. Based on the conviction that the dialogue between art, design, science and society is capable of proposing new horizons in understanding and learning about the world we know and the world yet to be discovered. On the basis of this transversal and interdisciplinary approach, the idea is to collectively question, from different points of view, our relationship with the known, the unknown, the hidden, the buried, in order to question representations as well as ways of transmitting knowledge. That we aim is therefore by crossing scientific, artistic and research narratives, to present a collaborative and evocative reflection on the mysteries and blind spots of the contemporary world and worlds to come.

To carry out this project, Ruedi and Vera Baur chose to bring together experts and a student internation-

al network of more than 30 design schools. We want to imagine how design can give visibility to what is not visible, make perceptible what apparently is not, see what we cannot see.

It is a matter to empower those who are excluded, invisible, powerless, to all that is minor, non-existent, even virtual.

As it is essential for us to work in an open and shared manner, our project will try to include young people, students and the general public as much as possible. These links between academia, research and civil society have always been at the centre of our attention. This is why this project will be much more than an exhibition: it will be a school open to multiple worlds and knowledge, run by students and researchers for all citizens.

le séminaire Ce séminaire a pour objet de lancer la troisième session de l’école du non-savoir. La première avait débuté en septembre 2022 à l’Institut français Milano et avait abouti à une première exposition en ce même lieu en janvier 2023. Au cours de la seconde phase l’exposition, une centaine de panneaux circulait à Florence et Rome. De nouvelles écoles se sont jointes au projet initial en rajoutant de nouveaux visuels. Cet ensemble sera présenté à Porto dans le cadre de la Biennale de design à partir du 21 octobre 2023, avec le soutient de l’Institut français du Portugal.

La troisième phase est en train de s’organiser sur la base d’une trentaine d’écoles et universités, venant de France, d’Italie, du Portugal, d’Allemagne, de Pologne, d’Inde, de Tunisie, du Canada, du Japon, d’Argentine et de Madagascar.

Le séminaire du Cnam débutera la phase de conception. Il permettra de mieux comprendre le projet et ses acteurs, et surtout de commencer à travers des exemples et des exercices pour se confronter à cette difficile transformation consistant à accepter que ce que nous ne savons pas possède une réelle valeur, un intérêt qui mérite qu’on s’y confronte de manière ouverte et expérimentale. Durant cette phase débuteront également les tentatives de narration pédagogique qui consisteront à enregistrer une explication d’un spécialiste à partir de panneaux réalisés.

C’est aussi au Cnam que se finalisera cette phase par une nouvelle exposition qui se tiendra les 1er et 2 février 2024. Le projet se poursuivra ensuite pour de nouvelles phases qui seront également présentées lors du séminaire.

the seminar This seminar aims to launch the third session of the school of not-knowing. The first began in September 2022 at the French Institute in Milan and culminated in the form of a first exhibition in the same place in January 2023. During the second phase the exhibition of around a hundred panels circulated Florence and Rome. New schools joined the initial project by adding new visuals. This set will be presented in Porto as part of the Design Biennale from October 21, 2023, with the support of the French Institute of Portugal.

The third phase is being organized on the basis of around thirty schools and universities, coming from France, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Poland, India, Tunisia, Canada, Japan and Madagascar.

The Cnam seminar, will begin the design phase. It will allow partecipants to better understand the project and its actors, and above all to begin, through examples and exercises, to confront this difficult transformation consisting of accepting that what we do not know has real value, an interest which deserves to be explored. confronts it in an open and experimental way. During this phase, attempts at educational narration will also begin, which will consist of recording an explanation from a specialist based on panels produced.

It is also at the Cnam that this phase will be finalized with a new exhibition which will take place on 1 and 2 February 2024. The project will then continue for new phases which will also be presented during the seminar.

Projets seront à placer sur une plateforme Miro et commentés à fur et à mesure en direct. Différentes thématiques seront proposées. Travail individuel ou en groupe si possible entre plusieurs écoles autour d’un thème.
